For Birth Control "I have tried many different kinds of birth control and had been off for about a year and a half when I started up on Chateal. I am in my third week of the pill and have experienced extreme fatigue, mood swings, as well as breast tenderness/shooting pain, and constipation. I am hoping these things will smooth over, but these are the worst initial side effects I've experienced with an oral contraceptive. So far, not so good."

For Birth Control "This pill was the first kind of birth control my doctor recommended me. I was very nervous at first because she said it would help with my size and because I have had chronic episodes of anemia. I also had the fears of every girl: gaining weight, acne, mood swings, and the contraceptive failing. I've been on Chateal for a year now, and none of those things have occurred! I'm very happy with this pill and will renew my prescription."

For Birth Control "I have been on this birth control since June. I haven't had any problems. My period comes like clockwork, no scares, no hair loss, no weight gain, no mood swings. I was on a different birth control where I had my period every three months, and I prefer this one, just because I can keep track of everything! I recommend it."

For Birth Control "Before I started it, I was mortified of it based on all these terrible reviews. Within 2-3 weeks, women were complaining about hair falling out, suicidal thoughts, nausea, mood swings, heavy bleeding, and so forth. I'm going on 7 weeks and haven't had not one of those symptoms, with a slight exception of the nausea. I get nauseous probably once every few days. The sensation lasts for about a minute and it's gone. I can't even pinpoint that the BC is the culprit. My experience with Chateal has been a breeze so far, and I hope it stays that way. So don't let these negative reviews steer you the wrong way. Everyone is different, and it clearly works great for many, not all, but many. Most importantly, I'm not pregnant!!!!"

For Birth Control "I've been on Chateal birth control pills for 3 weeks now, and I've experienced constipation, fatigue, nausea, and really bad mood swings. But I guess my body is just getting used to it because it's my first time trying birth control pills ever. Provided by Planned Parenthood."

For Birth Control "DO NOT EVER TAKE THIS MEDICATION! I've been on this for two weeks, and it's been two weeks of HELL! My anxiety is through the roof, I'm overly emotional and cry all the time. (No suicidal thoughts though.) This pill will make you feel like you have food poisoning or the stomach flu or something. I have headaches, dizziness, an indigestion/heartburn-type feeling -- I just have this bizarre feeling near my upper stomach/diaphragm, I can't even describe it. I'm constantly gassy, whether it's through burping or passing gas, stomach cramps and pain, back pain down in and near my pelvis, pain in my lower right abdomen. No appetite. The side effects are worse when I'm at work, which makes it very hard to stay at work. Wicked nausea!"

For Birth Control "I've been on this pill for 2 months now and have been experiencing breast pain, bloating, fatigue. I have really bad mood swings, and I yell for no apparent reason. And severe cramps. And during the second month, I've had my period twice. This is my first time using birth control."

For Birth Control "I started this pill reluctantly after having read all the horrible reviews, but I must say, I was pleasantly surprised. It was my first time ever taking the pill, and I noticed a few changes in the beginning while my body adjusted, but nothing drastic. I did tell my boyfriend to keep an eye out for the side effects, and that helped me mentally prepare for them. Over time, my periods got lighter and shorter. The first couple of months, I noticed I was more emotional on the week of the placebo pills, but who isn't when they're on their period? No acne. Good sex drive. I've been on it for over a year now, and I love it. Just take it every day and remember that people who have good experiences usually don't take the time to write a review."

For Birth Control "I have been on Chateal for 12 months now. I did have mood swings and did cry a lot the first week I was on the pill just because my body was getting used to it. By the second week, I was perfectly fine. I did not gain weight, and my skin has been perfectly normal. My periods are light to normal and last only 3-4 days and come like clockwork. I got it from Planned Parenthood, and the only reason I'm switching (to Levora) is because at Planned Parenthood it did cost $27 for each pack. Overall, very happy with it, and I'm hoping Levora works just as well for me and doesn't give me bad side effects or I'll definitely switch back."

For Polycystic Ovary Syndrome "I have been on birth control for 16 years now, Chateal for the past 6 months. This is the first pill that has actually lessened my bleeding and period pain. I have always had excessive bleeding and cramps (to the point I couldn't leave the house), this pill has changed all of that! I have PCOS and hypothyroidism. Since taking this pill, I have actually been able to lose 10 pounds. I would have given it 10/10, but I have been super emotional and cry a bit more than usual (commercials are the worst). No acne, no weight gain, no excessive bleeding, no cramps, no hair loss (as many reported), and the big one: I'm not pregnant!"

For Birth Control "I was on Levora for a year and absolutely loved it. Never a negative side effect. I'm finishing my second month on Chateal and have gained weight, experienced extreme mood swings, crying and yelling for no reason. I'm also cramping like crazy before my period. I'm in more pain than before the birth control. (Which was the reason I started in the first place.)"

For Birth Control "I've been on Chateal for around 4 months and have been having a terrible experience. Not until I had read some of these other reviews today did I realize that my horrible mood swings, depression, and anxiety were completely exacerbated by Chateal. I honestly thought I was losing my mind and have had some suicidal thoughts from time to time. I'm a college student, and these emotional episodes are taking a huge toll on my academic life. In addition, I have gained a significant amount of weight and feel bloated a good amount of the time, and also, I'm always breaking out with acne on my face, back, and arms. I'm so glad that I was able to see some of these reviews, which validated what I was going through. I'm going to stop taking Chateal today!!!"

For Birth Control "I got this birth control in February (now it's April), and I have noticed this pill has had a few side effects. One being I'm always tired and get tired out really easily, which is annoying because I'm always sleeping when I want to be with friends, another is nausea. I will feel sick occasionally and have headaches, and the last is being SUPER emotional. I will cry for no reason, and I believe it has made me a little depressed. I'm hoping this will all blow over, if not, I'm getting a new pill."

For Birth Control "Trust and believe, ladies, you better not have anything going on in your life if you start to take this! I've only been taking this for a month and a half, but the mood swings are uncontrollable! I am a very level-headed person most of the time, but I have been an emotional wreck since I started. My breasts have been extremely sore, but they are getting bigger, which is a plus for me! Haven't had any acne or weight gain, but it did help regulate my period. I haven't had any irregular spotting, which is great because I just switched from the Depo shot. So I'm really liking this so far. We'll just have to see how it goes, I guess!"

For Birth Control "Five because I never got pregnant, gained weight, spotted, or lost my sex drive. However, my skin has been absolutely horrible the past 7 months on this pill. I had flawless skin before birth control. I also had flawless skin on the Nuva Ring. I wake up and dread seeing my face because I know there will be a raised red bump(s). They never surface and are cyst-like. I used to never wear foundation or powder, now I have to cake it on because I can't stand looking at the huge bumps. Beware. As someone who had flawless skin until 19, this birth control can do a number on your face. Also, I have been extremely emotional and moody constantly."

For Birth Control "Started taking the pill three weeks ago. No side effects like headaches, weight gain, or fatigue, but I'm having extremely bad mood swings constantly. This pill makes me feel like a crazy lady! I'm normally a calm, relaxed person, also, my anxiety is extremely high. Seriously considering stopping the pills ASAP. Hopefully, Planned Parenthood has something else to offer that works for me."

For Birth Control "This is my first time taking birth control pills and so far LOVE it! I had an IUD put in last year and had it taken out within 2 months because I was consistently bleeding, got a rash all over my body, and I had horrible cramping, but so far I haven't had any side effects with Chateal, yet. I read about this birth control before I took it and I was so afraid to even try it out, but I did and so far so good, everyone's bodies are different so don't be afraid to try it! I even asked my husband to help me keep track of any side effects that he may notice, especially mood swings, but he hasn't noticed anything either. I will update this review if I start to experience any side effects."

For Birth Control "I've been on Chateal for about 2 months now. I have read about the negative side effects of this birth control, but different bodies have different reactions, and so far it has worked really well for me. I have high levels of androgens, which gave me really irregular periods, so I need to use birth control with more estrogen. I've used a different brand before and suffered severe mood swings and night sweats, which scared me from using pills for a long time. Ever since I gave Chateal a try, I've noticed that my old reactions to birth control are no longer there. I haven't gained weight or gotten mood swings. The only negative effect I get is the occasional headache. It works at preventing pregnancy and period regulation for me."

For Birth Control "I just want to share my experience because I'm pretty impressed with this pill. I was on another pill previously, and it was okay, except for the fact that I would spot ALL THE TIME, which got annoying. So my Dr. suggested I try this to see if my spotting would stop, and at first, I was hesitant to try it due to the bad reviews I've read, but I'm glad I tried it anyway because so far I don't have any negative reaction to it. No headaches, no increased appetite, no weight gain, no breast tenderness, I don't find myself really emotional, no PMSing, which is great. I would recommend trying it, it takes about 3 months for your body to adjust to BC pills. I'm glad it's working out for me, better than the previous pill I was on :)"

For Birth Control "I have been on this pill for about 6 months. Sure, I'm not pregnant, but I have noticed a drastic change in my personality and body. I have had mood swings in the past, but nothing like when I started Chateal. I find myself crying for no reason at all a lot of the time. I get severe cramps when I start my period and about a week and a half prior to starting my period. I don't know if it's the pills that are causing this, but my periods on average last 10+ days, and the bleeding is always very heavy, and my bad cramps last at least 5 days. No acne, though."

For Birth Control "I had an intensely bad experience using Chateal. The first few weeks of taking Chateal were okay, I started to get more and more anxious as time went on, and by the fourth week of taking this birth control, I had a major panic attack/mental breakdown that sent me to the ER. I thought I was having a heart attack. I had numbness in my legs, arms, and face. My other symptoms were major mood changes, including depression and anxiety, loss of interest in life/suicidal thoughts, tightness in my chest, trouble sleeping, nightmares, sleepwalking, and irritability and anger/sadness. It was terrible."

For Birth Control "Chateal is the first birth control pill I've tried, the brand chosen for me by the clinic I went to. Everything seemed fairly normal and predictable within the first month. Then in the second month, I began to experience side effects: lethargy, 'over-tiredness,' and severe mood swings. I'm already a very emotional person, so I quickly became overwhelmed (as did my poor boyfriend) and decided to quit before the end of the second month. In the days that followed, I experienced an ordinary period and an improvement in my mood and energy level. Chateal kept me from getting pregnant, but I really couldn't handle the side effects. My advice would be to just listen to your body and be thorough when looking for the pill that's right for you."

For Birth Control "I was on Loestrin for 4 years, and then it changed to Minestrin. I skip my period every month due to my horrible cramps, and no pill seems to help with them. My gynecologist suggested to me that I should skip my period. I switched to Chateal because after years of Loestrin/Minestrin, I think it stopped working properly. I was spotting and cramping, and even tried to get my period, and that was a mistake. Chateal has been wonderful so far. I am almost on my third month, and I haven't had any issues. My cramping is gone, and there has been no spotting at all. I haven't noticed any mood swings or any other side effects some people say they have. I haven't had any weight gain, and I feel like my acne actually has gotten better. I rarely break out now."

For Birth Control "I went to a clinic in downtown. The doctor came in with a bag of these pills without asking me what I wanted to take. I've been on 10 different pills in my lifetime, this one was really the worst. My mood swings were terrible, followed by depression I've never had before. Strange breakthrough bleeding. I cry over nothing like my second trimester of pregnancy, with terrible bloating. They should rename this terrible drug to something evil-sounding to truly reflect what it is like. After I stopped taking it, I felt normal again. The Family Planning Associates should really consider having their doctor take more than 2 minutes with a patient. Careless."
