"I've taken birth control pills since I was 15. I was 22 when I went on Aubra because I had recently gotten into a new relationship. It ruined my life. My acne got so bad I had to go on Roaccutane because of it. I have permanent scars on my face, and it has given me the worst mood swings. Currently still taking it because I'm on Roaccutane, but once my treatment is over, I'm switching to another form of BC."

"First birth control I was put on. The first couple of months were fine, I was very emotional at times, though. Boobs grew for sure, and acne has cleared up. The third month, I started spotting for 2 weeks before I got my period and only had it for 3 days. I recently have noticed I've gained a lot of weight. Used to have great abs, and now I have a muffin top and pudgy-looking stomach, have been working out, and it doesn't seem to do much. Debating if I even like having these hormones in my body. I was fine before taking birth control. I went on it for acne and to regulate my periods, but now I don't think it was really worth it, it's starting to make me feel like I'm starving like an hour after I eat a full meal."

"I just turned 18, never been on birth control before, and I started taking the pills the first day I got my period. Aug 7. I've been taking the pills every day around 11:30 p.m., and I'm still bleeding August 20th. The period changed from light to heavy, dark brown to red with blood clots. It's completely horrible."

"This is the first OC I’ve ever taken, and I must say, I loved it. I’m 5’9 and 135 lbs, and I have long menstrual cycles (every 29-32 days) and bleed for about 7-8 days. My periods have always been slightly irregular, and I’ve always had a very heavy flow. The first month of taking Aubra, I honestly didn’t notice anything... at all. Actually, I was convinced it wasn’t working. Once my period came, it came at the exact time it was supposed to and ended at the exact time. My flow was significantly lighter, and I had much less pain and bloating. THE ONLY BAD THING: I attempted to skip my period and go straight to the next pack. NOPE. I BLED FOR A WHOLE MONTH, IT FELT LIKE. My period is light enough and manageable enough that I probably won’t be attempting to skip again, but I do and have recommended this to every lady I know that’s interested. I take Aubra as birth control, and it definitely did the job!"

"Wow, I've been reading these negative comments, but I've had a great experience with this pill! I'm 19, I was on the shot before this. It was the worst thing that ever happened to me. But on this one, my only side effects were mild headaches, and I'm definitely more emotional. Also, I sleep a lot more. I haven't gained weight. I don't have spotting. It did clear my acne. My boobs feel bigger. But I also think I haven't had the negative effects because I've been taking these vitamins from Super Supplements. They have folic acid, calcium, and all the vitamins the lady at Planned Parenthood said I would need. When I stopped taking the vitamins for 2 weeks, I felt really shitty!"

"This is the worst birth control I’ve ever tried. I had every side effect known to man: monthly yeast infections, violent headaches. Also didn't get my period for months with this stuff, yet I still had VERY painful cramps. It gave me depression and made me antsy. I also would have episodes where I’d shake uncontrollably. I’m convinced someone evil handcrafted this stuff. Stay away."

"I was prescribed Aubra through Planned Parenthood, and I've been on it for about 2 months. I love it so far, I don't feel any symptoms and no weight gain. I was previously on the Depo, and I HATED it! I gained about 25 lbs in less than a year. Birth control is different for everyone, so I didn't know what to expect. I'm hoping this stays this way!"

"I've been on this pill twice. I started it when I was 17, I took it for a year, and I LOVED it. This was the first birth control I ever tried. It made my period significantly lighter. I had no PMS when I was on this pill, before, I had horrible PMS. I also lost weight on this pill (about 20 pounds). I believe the pill made my appetite a lot smaller, which is a good thing. At this time, though, I was still a virgin. I got the Paragard IUD a year later because I was tired of taking a pill every day. I had a horrible experience with Paragard, so I went back to this pill. It’s still great. I pretty much don’t have a period now, except for very light bleeding for a day or two. I have all-natural sex with my boyfriend once or twice a week, and I've yet to get pregnant."

"I am not an emotional person ever, but this Aubra pill gave me extreme depression for months. It would be the worst the week before my period, but throughout the month, I felt tired and sad almost every day."

"This Aubra is the worst pill I have taken so far. Extreme abdominal bloating and pain. Really bad nausea, and it gave bad diarrhea. Weight gain by the second day. I was always in pain and in discomfort. My stomach and ovaries felt so tender...never taking this stupid pill again."

"Honestly, it has been great! I get very light periods now that last two days with little to no cramping. No difference in mood swings and emotions. My skin cleared up. I was very skinny, unable to gain weight, and this allowed me to finally get curves. Overall, so happy I made the decision to take this."

"Disclaimer: Birth control effects vary from person to person since we are all slightly different. That being said, my experience has been very positive. I have had almost zero side effects since I started taking Aubra 2 months ago. The first week I started taking it, I had some nausea that would wake me up while sleeping (I take it at 5 pm), but after my body adjusted, I haven't had any nausea since. My weight has stayed the same, my skin and body hair have stayed the same. I did spot a bit for a week during my first pack, and then my first period was super light with zero cramping and lasted 4 days. If this is the norm, then I'm a happy Aubra consumer!"

"I absolutely hate this birth control. Yes, it keeps me from getting pregnant, but the side effects are terrible. I've been on this birth control now for almost 3 months, and I've been breaking out like crazy. I've never had acne problems besides an occasional zit here and there. After taking this birth control, my face has huge zits everywhere! I'm switching immediately. It also makes me act crazy!!! And I've gained 10 pounds. I'm done with this birth control!"

"Honestly, I have had no issues with this birth control. Obviously, birth control is different for each individual, but for me, this has been perfect. My period is regular and light, I have not gained weight, my boobs have grown and are firmer, and my skin is perfectly clear nowadays. I would definitely recommend based on my experience."

"I’ve been on this pill for a month and a half, and my skin is breaking out like never before. My mood is totally irrational, and I had 2 weeks of breakthrough bleeding that finally stopped 2 weeks ago, and now I’m getting a full-on period (cramps, back pain, actual bleeding) in the middle of a pack. Do not take this pill. It’s garbage and not worth the side effects. There are better pills out there - I was on the pill for 12 years and was fine. I went off it for a few years, and this was what Planned Parenthood gave me when I decided to go back on. Big mistake."

"I'm a 25-year-old woman, and I took Yasmin back home (I'm from Mexico) for six years, and it was amazing. I recently got married and moved to the U.S. and switched to Aubra (given to me by Planned Parenthood). I've been on Aubra for four months now, and I absolutely hate it. I broke out like crazy, my mood swings are just incredible, PMS is horrible, my sex drive is gone, and natural lubrication is a problem for me now. I never had any of these problems before, and there's no way I'm sticking to Aubra. Yes, it keeps me from getting pregnant, but the side effects are not worth it. I just got three boxes of Yasmin, and I'm waiting to finish my current Aubra box to switch back to Yasmin."

"I got prescribed 6 months of Aubra EQ by Planned Parenthood after I had been off the pill for a year. Almost immediately, this pill reduced my sex drive. I've always had a high libido, especially when off birth control. Aubra made me so dry and unable to get 'loose' during sex, I didn't really enjoy sex anymore (lube didn't even help), but not having sex can be the end of a relationship, so I powered through it and put up with the pain. I've always been quite thin, but I felt like Aubra stopped my appetite to the point where eating feels like a hassle and it's only done out of necessity. I feel like it made me kind of depressed, but nothing too extreme. I think I got used to being depressed after 3 months, and it was easier to manage. Overall, I wouldn't want to take it again."

"So I've been prescribed Aubra due to some irresponsible decisions. I have been on it for nearly 3 weeks, and I have been bleeding ever since I started it. I began taking it the first day of my period, and my period normally only lasts 3 to 4 days. Aubra caused it to last 6 days. A few days later, I began bleeding slightly, and I had to use panty liners for a couple of days, then it got a bit heavier, and now I have to use liners or pads. When I first started taking it, I had terrible mood swings, and my period was terrible. I am hoping that it gets better and the bleeding stops. It is uncomfortable, and I feel very unclean."

"When I started this medication, I actually thought I either had the flu or food poisoning because the side effects were so bad that I didn't realize it was just from the Aubra. I had severe stomach issues, sweating, and as the week went on, I had vision problems and an extreme headache that was getting worse instead of better. Thanks to other reviews on this site, I realized that it could be from this pill and stopped taking it. I already feel much better."

"Aubra has been my very first birth control pill, and from reading all these reviews before starting the pill, I have to admit I was afraid of the side effects I would have. Surprisingly, I have been on the pill for two whole months, and the only mild symptoms I could think of that I've had are two bad headaches and the bloating feeling closer to my placebo week. Other than that, my skin doesn't break out, and I haven't had any spotting in between!"

"This is the first birth control method I have ever used. I'm 18. I have been on it for a little over 7 months. I absolutely love it. Let me just start with the pros: breasts got more firm. My skin actually became cleaner. (I've always had clear skin) but this helped even more. The only negative side effect I would say is that you sometimes may experience mood swings. I have a short temper, so that could also be my fault. This pill does NOT make you gain weight. It only makes you hungrier than usual. I highly recommend this pill for all women. I love it!"

"This was the very first birth control brand I've taken, I was so happy because it didn't give me any weight gain or acne. It did make me very emotional and crazy after using it for a year or more, it made my relationship with my boyfriend go downhill. So I stopped taking it for 3 months, and I started gaining a lot of weight out of nowhere. I've never been this heavy before, so I'm deciding to take it again, but with a vitamin called Evening Primrose Oil capsules. Hopefully, it will help with my emotional wreck and craziness. Of course, every brand and dose is different for each person. I wish there was something that would tell us what works best for our bodies."

"I’ve been taking this birth control for about 3 months and noticed I would be constantly anxious or depressed. I found myself without a drive to do anything, whether it be to have sex or simply go out. It also made sex painful when I would go dry while enjoying it. It did help with cramps and made my period lighter, except for my spotting about a week before. No pregnancies, and periods were better."

"I started taking Aubra about a month and a half ago, but had to stop mid-pack due to the side effects. I had no side effects and felt great except for minor mood swings during the whole first month. By the time I started the second pack, I began to have chest pain and extreme nausea. I could barely eat and had such bad anxiety all day I couldn't leave my house. I had to miss 4 days of work and almost went to the ER every night because of how bad I felt. I had no control over my body and had to stop taking them just to live a normal life again. It got to the point I couldn't even make it to my doctor's appointment due to my anxiety."

"I am 5'4", 150 lbs. I've been on Aubra for almost 2 months. Haven't had a pregnancy scare and cramps/bloating are lessened, so that's good. However, I am having issues with large single pimples. They aren't really a cluster of acne. These large single pimples are more like mini welts. They're under the skin and painful when touched. There is no pus or anything, so it's not like you can 'pop' them. I'm getting them on my neck and chest as well as on my upper back and shoulders. It's summer, and I'm forced to wear uncomfortable turtlenecks and high necklined shirts to cover them. Foundation is not enough to cover these beasts :/. I wish I could upload a photo for you all to see. I thought birth control was supposed to help you NOT break out :/. My diet has not changed in 5 years, and I started drinking much more water. I also have resorted to using medicated acne wash once a day and daily acne spray three times a day. They have gone down in size, but are still there. NOT CUTE!"
