For Depression "TRD (treatment-resistant depression) for 30 years, have tried everything and will continue to try this. Was on 56mg 2x week for a month (eventually I had no immediate reaction as my body got used to the drug - lingering tiredness, so I did the treatments in the late afternoon) and have had 3 treatments with 84mg. First two of 84mg were fine - trippy, slight visual disturbance but I was able to recognize that this was the drug and not me - felt like I smoked a ton of pot or something. Yesterday was the 3rd treatment of 84mg. I went into the appointment very upset and stressed, and coupled with Spravato, had a dissociative episode. I started to cry and then boom: sobbing, no idea who I was, where I was, visual disturbance so couldn't see correctly, was paranoid, untrusting - I have never been so terrified in all my life. So far, no depression reduction, which saddens me, and I'm scared to have another trip like I did yesterday."

For Depression "I began treatments with 56 mg, which is four sprays using two syringes. It did not help with my depression, so after the fourth treatment (two weeks), the dosage was increased to 84 mg (6 sprays using three syringes). For a week, I thought it might be helping a little, but came to realize it was not. I did start having increased anxiety, often very anxious when waking in the morning. After the first month of twice-a-week treatments and two additional weekly treatments, I stopped since I was convinced it was not helping my depression and was making me very anxious. My depression now seems worse than ever, and my anxiety is at a high level. Spravato's Savings Plan reduced the cost of the medicine to only a co-pay of $10 per treatment. However, the doctor charged $300 per visit, which was not covered by my insurance. If others try Spravato, I hope you have better results. The doctor and staff were great and supportive. It was disappointing for me."

For Depression "So far, I am on my 3rd time doing the Spravato nasal spray. 2x I did 56 mg and one time the 82 mg, I believe. I feel exactly the same. No change at all!! My Dr told me to at least give it to the one month mark. It makes me feel awful during it, I get the disassociation and dizziness along with every other side effect, and I will say it takes me more than 2 hours to wear off. Pretty much the whole day. I am hoping the next few treatments work, otherwise, I have wasted a lot of time and money :-("

For Depression "I'm on Spravato and the 56 mg dose is too much. Sick for 4 days after. Then 1 or 2 ok days. Where are all the other reviews? Drs know all that I know. They are no help at all"

For Major Depressive Disorder "Ok so I have only done it twice- the first time was 56mg, the second was 84mgs or whatever. I want to start off by saying I have a very long history of substance abuse, so something like “tripping” or “dosing” was not something I hadn’t experienced. Being on Spravato - I’ve never been so messed up in my life. Seriously, what in the world… At one point I thought I melted into a pool of something on the floor, and I could hear the air twitching. For me, the initial “high” lasts about 2 hours where you trip the hell out, hallucinate and completely dissociate- but the extreme dizziness and nausea is enough to knock me on my ass for an entire 2 days afterwards. I’m trying to decide since I have not yet felt any relief- if I’m going to continue. My doc says to give her a month of trying it before I stop, but the entire day of and next day I’m sick as anything. Hope some of you find relief with this stuff"

For Major Depressive Disorder "I only tried Spravato once but it was too bad to continue. A few minutes after the nasal sprays, I had a horrible taste in my mouth, then nausea, then crying, dissociation, sweating, etc. No I’m back home after a few hours with somewhat of a hangover feeling: headache, still nauseous, & now also a sore throat. I can’t accurately “rate” this drug since it needs to be taken for quite some time to get the results but the side effects were just too horrible to go on. *Side note: I have also done several ketamine infusions prior to this, w only a bit of nausea once."

For Major Depressive Disorder "I’ve been on Spravato for a few months, after the initial cycle I’ve stayed at once a week for a while. Here’s my tips: Tilt your head back. Have hard candy, the taste is bad. Some days I have more intense effects than others, sometimes it is as mild as a glass of wine or nothing at all. As far as being dissociative, I use eyeshades & earphones listening to vibration sounds on Spotify or Apple Music and completely absorb myself into this… no out of body feelings, no walking around, no messing with vision. This method has helped to enjoy the experience because it’s not scary & allows me to be with my thoughts. As far as how it’s worked, it helps the day of treatment but the efficacy wanes until the next treatment, even on the first day it’s not a fix. I was hoping for more. My provider suggested infusions but between the cost and knowing now how the drug works: it won’t last and would be infinitely more costly to maintain."

For Depression "I had my first experience with Spravato yesterday, and the side effects were just awful. Felt extremely drunk—dissociation, severe nausea and sweating, dizziness, tiredness. Could barely make it home (I got a ride) and get myself into bed to lie there for the rest of the night. The next morning—extremely tired, nauseous. Felt hungover. No effect on my TRD (treatment-resistant depression) after 1 treatment. I will continue as long as I can stand it because I am pretty much out of options. But I am dreading it more than I did with ECT."

For Major Depressive Disorder "My major depressive disorder is drug resistant. I used Sparvarto at a doctors office 3 times weekly for about 6 weeks. My first 2 weeks, were filled with sadness, followed by mad anger (PTSD Symptoms) for the following 2 and experienced deeper sadness and suicidal ideation for the last two. We then stopped treatment about a month ago and I am still struggling with deep sadness.I feel disappointed. I had been so hoping for lasting help. I've begun to lose hope that I'll never again experience life with more delight."

For Depression "I did the IV Ketamine for several months and found it very helpful, but it wore off very quickly. My physician has recommended that I start Spravato, as he has sometimes seen its benefits last longer. I have now had 2 treatments with 53 mg. I do not feel dissociative symptoms, like with the IV, but I have significant symptoms of motion sickness. The night of the treatment, I feel exhausted, and this is lasting into the following day. With the IV treatment, my symptoms fully resolved the night of treatment. I am trying to determine if these treatments are worth continuing. The side effects are prolonged, and there is no certainty that the benefits will last very long."

For Depression "Starting fourth week tomorrow. Spravato has helped a little but still have anxiety, especially when waking in the morning. It may or may not work but I’m better than I was, hope it lasts. I may try Kratom if this doesn’t work, do not want to be as bad as I was. My clinician is great, and believe me, not all clinicians are that caring. I had to see someone else for one dosing, and she left me in the room for 40 minutes by myself. Not good when you're tripping out."

For Major Depressive Disorder "I had my first Spravato session today, and it was terrifying. I took 56 mg. The room started spinning, I felt like I was going to throw up, everything turned into this loud noise and distorted visuals swirling around me. I had trouble keeping breathing. Suddenly I became afraid that this state would be permanent, that they had tricked me into taking the med. I became overwhelmingly sad because Spravato felt like my last chance and now I was dying from it. I felt lost, like I had ruined my brain and now was stuck with an unbearable situation. Finally, after maybe an hour and fifteen minutes, I started to come out of it. Now I'm really scared to have another session. Too soon to know if it's helping."

For Depression "After my second treatment I am feeling more depressed and very tearful and hopeless. I am not sure it’s worth continuing. I have had only very minor side effects so the treatment wasn’t awful. Just not working as quickly as I hoped and actually feeling worse."

For Depression "Been on 84mg for over a year. Cutting to every two weeks soon. It's more intense than the IV version and nowhere near as good as microdosing mushrooms. Sorry, Janssen. Waiting for the phase 3 trials of psilocybin to complete and I'm all in. I want a cure, not games."

For Depression "I’ve finished my first 4 weeks of Spravato treatment at 2x per week. I went up to the 84mg dose on the 4th trip. Amazing experience, be prepared as well as you can ahead of time because it is intense. Mixed results so far but I have hope. I highly suggest you have a strong support system in place beforehand because you will need it. I unfortunately did not and I think that had a negative effect on my response. I spent one week totally alone I saw nobody except for my ride and my time in treatment. I definitely don’t recommend that for any of you and hope you have better success. The first week was like a miracle so I still have hope. It’s kind of a last-ditch effort so I’m still hopeful."

For Depression "I went through a series of 6 ketamine IV infusions. It was life-changing. The drawback being that the effects and relief lasted days/weeks. But when it is working, it is miraculous. Due to a good response to the ketamine but not able to prolong the effects, Spravato was prescribed for me. I began week 1 with 2 treatments (required 2 treatments every week for the first 4 weeks). It is much milder, less intense, and effective in my view based on my response. Both dosages were at 56 mg, the required initial dose. I believe that I may have better results with the 84 mg and will be trying that dosage next week for week 2."

For Major Depressive Disorder "Although I haven't seen any results yet, it's important to remember that everyone's response can be different. After undergoing eight sessions, I haven't experienced any improvements. However, if you delve into the research, you'll find that this treatment was originally used as a horse tranquilizer. Logically, it seems plausible that a tranquilizer could be effective for addressing both anxiety and depression."

For Major Depressive Disorder "I’ve just had my 9th Spravato at 84mg. I have only today felt the effects on me. It was not a scary ‘trip’ but it wasn’t nice. I felt distressed and a bit ‘out of it’. For example, I have chronic lower back pain, I felt the pain but couldn’t feel my legs. I am trying to find the positive side of this in the fact that at least I did feel it. I was really worried that it wasn’t working at all. I now hope number 10 has an effect as well. They are talking about possibly moving me from the Spravato spray to Ketamine infusions. So I will update you as soon as I can. At the moment my mood is still desperately low and suicidal thoughts are paramount. I hope my next ‘review’ is a more positive one."

For Major Depressive Disorder "Cannot speak to effectiveness just yet, but this is my experience. I was very nervous going into it. I do not have experience with substances other than alcohol and THC (which I respond very badly to), so I was pretty scared that Spravato would really mess me up and I'd have a bad time. I am also super prone to nausea. My first dose went just fine. Took a few minutes for me to feel the effects, but they were manageable. I was pretty lucid the entire time. My head felt a little swimmy, I sometimes couldn't feel parts of my body, and my perception of time was out of whack. But no nausea, paranoia, etc. I actually felt very pleasant the entire time. The next dose, I did have a few minor moments of panic (once because there was a loud noise, once because it was too quiet and that scared me for some reason) but they subsided quickly. I have felt pretty good in the days after my first doses, but no marked improvement yet."

For Depression "Started at the Spravato clinic a month ago. The sessions are in a group, which leads to fascinating conversations while under the influence of this drug. Enjoying the comaderie with fellow patients and the inhibition/disassociative effects. Yes, you can get high on this stuff. I haven't experienced any healing yet from my depression...however I've had more stressors than usual this past month, so that benefit may take longer to manifest. Others in my group session have seen great improvement in their mental health. So I suggest to those considering the treatment to at least give it a go!"

For Major Depressive Disorder "Been on Spravato for over a year. Still have been on a regimen of 84 mg twice a week. It has not given me really any adverse effects, light equilibrium issues when on it. When I first started, it was very helpful, but weaning down to anything less than twice a week hasn't been able to work for me. It's helpful for a few days and goes away, wouldn't call it a miracle drug. But it's very helpful compared to the countless other medications I've been on. Definitely bring some Listerine patches or strong mints to help with the nausea/bad taste. Have MDD, PTSD, and anxiety disorder. Spravato is an effective medication, but with the caveat that weaning down really makes the depression kick in. Advice: make a nice playlist of music and try to relax."
