For Dry Skin "For years I've tried to use CeraVe cream because it's recommended by dermatologists, but every single time I apply it, it burns and turns my face red. I've tried the moisturizing cream, the lotion, and the hydrating cleanser too. They all burn and sting horribly, leaving my face red, sore, and splotchy. I also end up with more clogged pores and uneven skin texture too. I am surprised at how many other people have noticed these horrible effects, I thought it was only me."

For Dry Skin "I have used CeraVe for both my hands and my face. I had no problems applying it on my face, and there was no reaction. However, when I put it on my hands (which are currently very irritated), they began to burn..."

For Dry Skin "Absolutely horrible. On the second week of using Skin Renewing Retinol Serum around my eye area, my skin began to burn when I applied it. I woke up one morning with huge, scaly patches all over my eyes. My under-eyes now look and feel like elephant skin! This has been the worst experience I have ever had with a “beauty product.”"

For Dry Skin "I saw a dermatologist twice this spring for swelling and hives that I thought might be due to sun sensitivity. I changed up my routine to avoid the sun completely and stopped using anything at all on my face. All was well until I tried adding CeraVe back in three days ago. I used the Hydrating Facial Cleanser on my face in the shower, rinsed well, and then applied the Daytime Facial Moisturizer. That was in the morning, and by bedtime, my face was ablaze with the same itchy hives and burning that I had misattributed to the sun before. I washed my face with water, applied cortisone cream, and took two Benadryl. Even still, when I awoke the following morning, my eyes were nearly swollen shut and my cheeks were thick with edema. I repeated the shower-cortisone-Benadryl, and it's getting better, but it will take several more days for all of the swelling and redness to abate. I wouldn't give this stuff to my worst enemy, so these bottles are going into the box for household hazardous waste."

For Dry Skin "I started taking CeraVe, and I developed full face itching, burning, and peeling in spots. The skin around my eyes became red and swollen as well. I don't have sensitive skin and was surprised at this reaction. I stopped using the medication and applied pure aloe vera gel daily and cortisone cream for itching. It’s been a few days now, and the redness is nearly gone, but my skin is still peeling in spots."

For Dry Skin "Dr. prescribed for dry skin. The burning sensation on first application is horrible. I stayed with it for 5 days, then red hive-like bumps began occurring by second day with terrible itching. It is the worst over-the-counter drug reaction I have ever had. I would not recommend."

For Dry Skin "Wish I had found this page before I bought and used CeraVe moisturizer (ha!) cleanser. Three days in, my entire face is bright red, peeling around eyebrows especially. Three weeks of burning, itching skin. Finally, skin is calming down, from now on, water and no chemicals ever again. Rating 00000000000."

For Dry Skin "I bought CeraVe when my face became extremely dry and was peeling. My pediatrician said it was a really good moisturizer. I bought the AM with sunscreen since I have been in the sun more and PM, both for normal to dry skin when what I really need is extra dry skin. The PM burned so bad I couldn't use it. The AM only burned slightly but really didn't seem to do enough, I still use it as a daily sunscreen, but I layer it over a skin vitamin serum and under lanolin for extremely dry skin. I won't ever buy CeraVe again."

For Dry Skin "Within seconds after applying this cream to my face, it became totally inflamed and red, with a burning sensation. After about a minute, thinking it would go away-which it didn't-I splashed cold water over my entire face for about 2-3 minutes. This relieved the burning a bit, but my skin is burnt! This should not be on the market or advertised as a skin cream! I will be calling my doctor when the office opens at 8:00 a.m."

For Dry Skin "I started using CeraVe 3 days ago, and my dermatologist recommended it for my acne. My face felt like it was burning all night after my third day, and the dry skin peels off. I’m so disappointed, especially since the stuff isn’t necessarily cheap, and they have no warning!"

For Dry Skin "CeraVe Facial Moisturizing Lotion PM burnt my skin. Within a couple minutes of applying it, my face became very red, and my skin felt like it had a severe sunburn."

For Dry Skin "I used CeraVe Renewing SA Cleanser on and off for a week. After a week of finally figuring out why my neck was burning and prickly itchy, it dawned on me. I just started using CeraVe. Do not buy if you have sensitive skin. This stuff basically just burned my skin. I have huge patches of what looks like I burned my skin with scalding water on both sides of my neck. The only thing now that releases it is cool water. If not better in a week, I'll have to go to the doctor. This is awful stuff."
