EpiCeram (emollients) for Dry Skin "I have suffered with atopic dermatitis (moderate-severe) for 10 years. The inflammation and itchiness has been non-stop. My skin has been red and inflamed on my face, neck, arms, hands, and most of my body. Often, my skin has become so damaged from itching and scratching that various regions of my skin have split, such as my eyelids, neck, and knuckles. I HAVE USED EPICERAM FOR 1 WEEK AND ALL THE REDNESS HAS NEARLY CLEARED UP AND THERE ARE NO SPLITS AT ALL. I FEEL GREAT!! I can sleep comfortably. I can shower without the pain of water stinging my damaged skin. I can exercise again without sweat causing burning. I highly recommend this cream."

Replens (emollients) for Vaginal Dryness "Used it one day and everything was fine...second time I used it, I immediately started burning...later that evening I was bleeding from inside...looked at reviews and found others that were the same...not sure if this is what happens in the beginning and then it gets better?"

Blistex Lip Balm (emollients) for Dry Skin "My daughter used the orange mango smoothie lip balm last night and her lips are twice their normal size. They are itchy and painful. She has either had an allergic reaction or there is something seriously wrong with this product - having just now read all of these comments about allergic reactions. Blistex needs to pull these off the shelf and investigate what ingredient they used that is causing so many reactions. Don’t use this product."

EpiCeram (emollients) for Dry Skin "I have been stripping my skin w high end acids/RetinA/over-exfoliant for years. I was extremely dry and flaky. My skin started to react to any extreme temperature or touch. I stripped the barrier of my skin and it was always angry. My Derm gave me this for Dermatitis. It took a few weeks but all my issues have disappeared. I am afraid to use anything else. It isn’t greasy and at times I feel like I need more moisture. However, I resist adding anything more than this cream. I can’t find the reason why this is by Rx only though?!?!"

Cetaphil Cleanser (emollients) for Dry Skin "Applied to my face daily as prescribed by physician for now one week and within this week my face has been having a burning sensation and rash all over my face and neck. After carefully washing it off the burning sensation hurts even worse. I’m finish with this product. I was prescribed this cleanser and lotion due to the mask breaking my face out on my cheeks and chin area."

Replens (emollients) for Vaginal Dryness "I decided to use Replens since I'm past menopause and don't use HRT. Its definitely helped with vaginal dryness and intimacy. However, lately I've noticed some discharge similar to yeast. I'm not sure if it's from the product or not, since I have no other symptoms. Upon reading some of the reviews I do see that it is not uncommon. I'm going to purchase an over the counter yeast tester just to be sure though. But do believe its from the product."

Neutrogena Cream (emollients) for Dry Skin "I just this product 3 days in row. Woke up day 4 with red burns on my face where wrinkle repair was applied. Very sore and irritating. I did have a low grade fever but did not put the two side effects together right away. I will be returning this product from where I purchased it. I will warn every one I know about this awful experience with this product. I guess I will learn to embrace my wrinkles."

CeraVe (emollients) for Dry Skin "I am a 53-year-old with fair skin and I'm starting to notice more dark circles and dry skin and puffiness under my eyes. I did a search online and found good reviews for CeraVe Eye Repair Cream, but after using it for two nights, I noticed a HORRIBLE reaction. It made my under eyes all puffy and red, with elephant-like wrinkles and flaking. Clearly, I was having a bad reaction and stopped use of this product immediately. Days later, I am using a hydrocortisone topical cream and taking an antihistamine I usually start taking around this time of year anyway for seasonal allergies. So far, I'm only noticing a minor improvement. I found it both heartening and disturbing to see so many people have had the same reaction I experienced. I will be reporting this product to the FDA. I can't understand how it is still on the market! Avoid it!"

EpiCeram (emollients) for Dry Skin "I have suffered from eczema - especially on and around my eyelids, and rosacea all over my face for about 5 years now. (Started when I was about 35). If I sit next to a fire, my face gets hot and breaks out, if I am out in the cold, my face breaks out. My skin was dry and flaky, and felt like my face was chapped all the time. I was having to apply moisturizer 5-6 times a day. It was awful! I've been using Epiceram for 2 weeks, and my skin has been completely transformed! My skin is super smooth and hydrated, my eczema is totally gone. My face is not breaking out from heat/cold! My pore size looks smaller. This stuff is amazing! I wish I could take a bath in it!"

Replens (emollients) for Vaginal Dryness "I am SO glad I found this page with other women reporting the same issues that I have been experiencing when using Replens MD. My GP prescribed it for vaginal atrophy 6 - 7 months ago, but almost from the start I noticed a thick yellow/nasty brown sludgy discharge after each application. This was accompanied by mild irritation both inside and outside. Furthermore, I have not noticed any improvement in my vaginal atrophy condition. More recently, I have also started to see pinkish blood in the discharge as well after each application. I have been assuming that this must be the 'expected' discharge of dead cells the information leaflet describes. Reading the other comments on this page has now made me realise that it is not and that Replens is definitely not for me! I will go back to my GP to discuss ASAP. Thank you, ladies!"

CeraVe (emollients) for Dry Skin "I have never had a reaction to a body cream or facial cleanser before. However, for 8 months after using CeraVe I have had hives and carry an Epi-Pen for throat closures that I now get. I have seen multiple specialists and had multiple blood and allergy tests and nothing has come up as a reason for the reactions. I have read some of the reviews for CeraVe and I think my symptoms may be related to its use. If you are going to use this medication, be aware of the side effects before using it."

CeraVe (emollients) for Dry Skin "I used Cerave Moisurizing Cream for Normal to Dry Skin on my face on the 18th of April and by the 19th I had dry itchy red patches all over my face. It is now the 20th and the red rash has calmed somewhat but is still there and its still ITCHY. Taking Benadryl until I can see my doctor. I had heard great things about this cream and am extremely disappointed. Hoping the drug store I bought it at will take it back. I USED IT ONCE!"

EpiCeram (emollients) for Dry Skin "Epi-ceram cream is amazing for eczema! The same day I applied the cream I noticed and felt a difference within a few hours. Two days later the eczema on my eye lids and around my mouth were clear. I use the cream sparingly and it works better than ANY other prescription. My insurance didn't cover it but I'm so glad I took a chance and paid for it. It was well worth the $$. Hopefully it will soon be available over the counter!"

Neutrogena Cream (emollients) for Dry Skin "Used this product 1 time (after washing my face with dove bar soap (I've used dove for over 10 years)) and at first it made my face feel really smooth and softer than normal. The next morning I woke up with a rash all over my face and my face felt as though all moisture had been sucked out of it. Day 2 after only using it that one time, I woke up with my face swollen, still having the rash and still feeling like I've been in a desert with no sunscreen or water for days. Really hoping I don't have to go to the doc to get this cleared up. Won't ever use this product again."

EpiCeram (emollients) for Dry Skin "I think I have found the holy grail. I have been an eczema sufferer my whole life. I recently finished a 6 year topical steroid withdrawal NIGHTMARE after using steroids for many years. At first it seemed as though my eczema had gone into remission, but after a few months I noticed problems with my skin again, more with dryness and flaking than active eczema I fought it for months with every alternative therapy, potion, oil, diet out there with no success. Out of desperation I visited the derm again who prescribed me Elidel, which IMO is just as bad as steroids. It was by chance I came upon an article about Epiceram. In a last ditch effort I had my derm prescribe it and decided to give it a try with 0 expectations. This is only the second day I've used it and it has completely changed my skin. I am in disbelief. I can't remember the last time my skin looked this smooth and normal. TO all those suffering with this hellish condition I urge you to give this a shot. Epiceram is a game changer"

Aquaphor (emollients) "I was given Aquaphor to use on the healing incision after surgery on a finger. It does a great job in keeping the skin nice and flexible. However, when I rubbed the excess Aquaphor onto the back of my hand, which was flaky from dry skin, I got an itchy rash. It is possible to be allergic to the lanolin alcohol in the product, so anyone who may have an allergy to wool or lanolin should be cautious about using it."

Replens (emollients) for Vaginal Dryness "I’ve only used it once so far recently. I tried it many years ago and it was so watery it was almost as if you peed your bed. No burning this time, but yes to the white clumps. I couldn’t imagine what they were until I came across this website. But, I have also had the white clumps from (HyloGyn)? And other vaginal moisturizers that I have tried. So I’m guessing it is dead skin cells from all of them. Would have been nice for the makers of these products to let you know. I’m hoping I don’t get bleeding or pain. Menopause is awful."

Blistex Lip Balm (emollients) for Dry Skin "I had been using Blistex lip conditioning serum and my lips had become extremely dry, so I continued to put more and more on, not even considering that the Blistex was causing the problem. My lips became swollen and burned. My lips now look very dark like they have been burned. After reading all of the issues other people have been experiencing with this product, how is this company still allowed to sell this product? I’m so incredibly disappointed and in pain. This product is trash and it has been thrown in the trash where it belongs. I will never ever buy this product again and will tell everyone I know to don’t bother."

Replens (emollients) for Vaginal Dryness "Read about the stuff online and it was supposed to be good for va-jj dryness due to PCOS. I was excited that arrived a couple days ago and that me and my husband could have a wonderful time this weekend. This morning I happily got out of bed, used the first dose and hopped in the shower. Hours later when I went to the bathroom I cannot even describe what I saw. It looked like dark dried chunks of tar coming out of me. It was like I start my period but worse. All this in a matter of hours. This is absolutely terrifying! I’ve never seen anything like this come out of me. Almost like pieces of my insides are coming out. Do not use this stuff!!!!"

Replens (emollients) for Vaginal Dryness "I had read the insert explaining how Replens worked. So when I had some discharge, I realized that it was dead skin cells being eliminated from my body. I wasn't concerned because I suffered from horrible dryness and pain. The discharge was only bad the first day after I used it. Replens did help with dryness and pain, but I probably will need hormones as well. I wonder if all of the complaints come from women who maybe do not understand that lots of dead, dry skin cells stick to Replens and get eliminated. Yes, there is some pink color that looks like blood, but that may come from old blood cells from inserting the gel. If you scrape yourself a bit, or it may come from intercourse. It is a helpful product, but I would suggest not having sex right after using it."

Replens (emollients) for Vaginal Dryness "1st time I used this product before sex I was impressed with how comfortable the sex felt, but the horrible rubbery white discharge after was so embarrassing. The leaflet says expect dry skin to be expelled so I hoped it was a one off. The second time I tried it, it caused severe burning pain for several hours and swelling, what a shame. I can’t risk trying it again."
