Dupixent (dupilumab) "In 2014, I developed a chronic condition called AERD (formerly Samter's Triad), which involves nasal polyps, asthma, and sensitivity to NSAIDs and high eosinophils. I lost my sense of smell early and never recovered it, even after 4 FESS surgeries. My asthma was well-controlled after aspirin desensitization, dietary changes, and daily AERD meds, but having no sense of smell and chronic polyp-related sinus issues was a significant quality of life issue. In the spring of 2023, I started Dupixent 300mg injections twice monthly, on top of my AERD meds. I regained my sense of smell after about 3 weeks and have had no significant side effects. Self-injections can sting a bit, but that is a small price to pay for the quality of life benefits. Dupixent is an IL-4 and IL-13 inhibitor, and those appear to have been driving chronic nasal polyp growth. I plan on returning to my ENT for a scope just to confirm if my polyps have shrunk or disappeared. So far, so good!"

Dupixent (dupilumab) "This medication has been life changing. I've had severe asthma as well as nasal polyps for almost two decades. I've struggled to breathe and had two sinus surgeries to remove polyps, but they grew right back. I had no sense of smell for many years. 7 days after starting Dupixent, I had noticeably clearer sinuses and after a few months of treatment, I can easily breathe and have a sense of smell and taste. I am no longer struggling with asthma daily or struggling to breathe through my sinuses. Dupixent gave my quality of life back!"

Dupixent (dupilumab) "I have been having the injections every 2 weeks for over a year. It has massively improved my health in so many ways: breathing, sleeping, less wheezing, and coughing in the morning. Minimal phlegm down the back of the throat. I have had 2 operations to remove polyps and nose remodeling. Now, there are no polyps in the nose. I have zero taste or smell, hopefully, it will return with continued use of the medication. I live in France."

Dupixent (dupilumab) "Only take this "drug" if you are absolutely desperate and have no other option. It is awful, because of its very, very strong side effects, which will affect the entire body in one way or another; strangely for the lungs and the nose, the drug will make you symptomatic for the same reasons that you are taking it. That is, you will have lung and nose side effects. It is true that all drugs have side effects, but this drug needs another 5 years to be tweaked and worked on to eliminate the bad stuff. They rushed it to market. It is an incredibly painful injection. There must be a better way..."

Dupixent (dupilumab) "Dupixent did help shrink my sinus polyps and get my smell back. But after about 6 months, I decided to try coming off of it. The polyps have not returned, but I constantly have bleeding in my sinuses and nasal dripping. My suggestion would be to take the medicine for sinus polyps, but discontinue the drug as soon as you can, for instance, as soon as the polyps are gone."

Dupixent (dupilumab) "4 nasal surgeries to remove polyps. Most of 2021 I was unable to smell or taste The only time things cleared up are with prednisone, last two prednisone courses did not allow me to regain smell or taste. After my very first shot, I was starting to smell things later that night. Next morning I was able to smell and taste once again and haven’t lost it yet, even when battling a cold. (8 weeks) The shot does hurt, make sure it’s at room temp and that helps. I don’t mind shots but I’m still not comfortable doing it myself due to how much it hurts. My eyes are fine but I noticed gunk in my eyes when waking up in the AM no big deal. No vision problems. Only real negative thing is around 3 days prior to the shot my back and joints are stiff. No pain but sore. After the shot, no problems. I’m still on allergy and asthma meds. No asthma problems, allergies no Change."

Dupixent (dupilumab) "I took Depixent for about 6 months, once every 2 weeks, at 300 mg per shot. It reduced my nasal polyps and help me avoid another sinus surgery. It also helped with my asthma. However, after about 6 months off the meds, my asthma has returned and I feel like my polyps are growing back, though I haven't had them checked out yet. I figure I'll do another 6 months on the meds again within a year or so from now to manage my polyps. Side effects were site injection pain/sensitivity and a little swelling. It was enough of a bother to encourage me to stop taking it once it had the desired effect, and I wish there was a better way to administer it."

"I had my first injections this week. I received two doses at once to start off. The injections were very painful but bearable. Almost immediately afterwards, I experienced some dizziness and the nurses advised me to lie down. I have had upper respiratory issues since birth, possibly due to an underdeveloped immune system. In 2018, my sinuses were so infected that I developed pneumonia. I had sinus surgery that same year, where my turbinates were reduced. However, I was told that the damage was very severe. I have eosinophilic driven asthma due to my sinuses and I am allergic to most tree and grass pollen, animal hair, dust, and any kind of fire, even a candle. I have also developed fibromyalgia. Like everyone here, I have zero sense of smell or taste since then. After receiving the injections, I have experienced some painful joint aches, fatigue, and dizziness. I am hoping that as more time passes, my polyps will reduce and the side effects will decrease. I am a 50-year-old woman from the UK who used to be fit."

"I am hoping my comments will help anyone who has suffered from recurring nasal polyps for long, using an endless array of cortisone based nasal sprays and waking up every morning hoping that they could enjoy the smell & taste of breakfast as l did. Polyps did not affect my airways and did not make me snore. But they kept taking away my sense of smell and taste leaving me depressed and hopeless of ever enjoying a meal. I had profuse nasal secretions also due to the severe allergy. Within 3 days, this wonder drug Dupixent restored my smell and taste. I take an injection every two weeks for the past 7 months and polyps have disappeared along with my nasal allergy. I am so grateful for this drug and the genius who came up with it. I have had no side effects also which is amazing! My only concern is l am trying to conceive and there are no studies on the effect on fetus yet. I do not want to stop taking it now."

Dupixent (dupilumab) "I have a condition called Samter's Triad (aka Aspirin-exacerbated respiratory disease / AERD), which results in upper and lower respiratory dysfunction, including asthma and debilitating nasal polyposis. My polyps were so bad that multiple FESS surgeries couldn't reach all the polyps, and I lost my sense of smell and taste. I was poorly controlled on standard asthma medications and required a litany of approaches just to treat the symptoms. Facing my fourth FESS surgery in 8 years, I opted to try Dupixent instead, and in 2023, I was approved for Dupixent 300mg. To say it was life-changing is an understatement. I'd call it a miracle drug for my condition. The IL-4/IL-13 blockers worked almost immediately - within three weeks, my sense of smell and taste were restored (after 6 years of having none). My sinuses improved month after month, and my asthma symptoms disappeared. After 12 months, I met with my ENT who scoped me and confirmed my polyps had almost completely disappeared."

"The problem with 'correcting' reviews is that once corrected, the primary means by which one may discern a likely legitimate review and one planted by industry is by analyzing style and grammatical mistakes. This is not possible on drugs.com, so we may assume industry is free to plant all sorts of glowing reports about their products on the site. Objectivity is compromised, the correcting should cease, and in the meantime, the best advice is to look elsewhere for drug reviews."

Dupixent (dupilumab) "I have been taking Dupixent for about 1 and a half months. It does work for me. I recovered the smell in just a week, and I'm breathing better. But I have experienced one of the side effects that I saw on a list outside of Dupixent's website, which is 'ear congestion.' Three days after the injection, it lasts about 8 days, and on the second dose, the same thing happened. Four days ago, I had the injection, and I already started experiencing a buzzing noise in my ear for the second time. So, I believe it is the ear congestion side effect."

Dupixent (dupilumab) "I have been using Dupixent to control my nasal polyps for the last few years. After 4 surgeries and plenty of prednisone, Dupixent finally allowed me to breathe, smell, hear, and taste again after nearly 15 years. Side effects include joint pain and tingling feet. A small price to pay for getting my quality of life back."

Dupixent (dupilumab) "Dupixent 300mg - Helped keep polyps at bay & reduced asthma attacks but it did and still is making me gain a lot of weight. The 4 things I have with side effects: 1. Weight gain. I'm the heaviest I've ever been but I must overlook this because of the other good it does for me. 2. Joint pain 3. Some blurry vision 4. Rash all over body. I had no skin issues before taking Dupixent, ironically. Overall I am still using the medication because it has drastically improved my nasal polyps and asthma."
