For Birth Control "Absolutely horrendous - went from 55 kg to 68 kg and I’m only 5 ft 2 in a matter of 3 months. I feel terrible about myself and I can’t fit into any of my clothes, it’s ruined my summer. I’ve stopped taking it today, so I hope that I can get myself back to feeling good enough to go out!"

For Birth Control "I was super terrified to try Yasmin, but I wanted to try it for my hormonal acne. Yasmin has really helped (so far), my face has been gradually clearing up during the past 3 weeks, and my painful cysts are flattening. My skin is whiter too - less red and blotchy. So happy about that! I lost about 5 kilos in 3 days. I wore one pair of pants one day that were tight and had to change them at the end of the day because my thighs and stomach had so noticeably shrunk. It was like I took some kind of shrinking potion! I kept my chest though. :) I love Yasmin so far. I have more energy, less hair fall, better skin, no emotional flares, and it's helped with the insomnia that I got after my friend died. I sleep like a baby now. I was slightly nauseous for the first 2 days."

For Acne "I've been on the Yasmin pill for just about a month, and most of my acne is cleared! It came as a shock for me, as I have tried Accutane, antibiotics, creams, and everything on the market, but Yasmin has helped tremendously! Yay! Let's hope it continues like that."

For Birth Control "I've just started Yasmin. I was on Diane-35 last year, then stopped, but the water weight didn't seem to go away, and I had cellulite that I had never had before Diane-35. In 9 days, I've lost about 2 kg. My mood seems fine so far. I have to visit the bathroom more often. The best thing - I'm about a cup size up, from B to about C now. It's fantastic, and I cannot wait for my boyfriend to see them! Diane-35 made me feel awkward and out of place because of the sudden water weight on my legs, bottom, arms, tummy, etc., but I feel so light on Yasmin. Yasmin gave me back my flat tummy (I had some bloating problems). First month in, and it's been fantastic. I cannot stop looking in the mirror."

For Acne "I was skeptical about taking this pill due to some of the reviews I had seen, but I couldn’t have been more wrong. I’ve been using Yasmin for 9 months now, and it is the clearest my skin has been in 12 years. I’ve gone from getting 2 spots a day to 2 a month (if that). It did take about 4 months for me to fully see the effects, so please persevere with it because it’s more than worth it!"

For Acne "I’m on my 3rd month of Yasmin. I can't tell if it’s working or not. For the first week of every month, my skin clears, and then I’ll break out for the rest of it. Maybe the hormones haven’t stabilized yet, so I’m going to stay on it for 6 months. No other side effects except I have had 2 migraines."

For Birth Control "I have been taking Yasmin for 8 years (with a 10-month break after 5 years). I stopped to have a baby, pregnant within the first month off the pill and back on it right after birth. This pill has been great! Clear skin, no weight gain or side effects. I think people starting any pill will have a rough beginning but give it a chance. All body types are different, so nothing works for everyone... But this worked great for me."

For Acne "I had to be prescribed Yasmin because I was being treated with Accutane for severe acne - and you are not allowed to get pregnant. I have been on it since I was 15 (I'm now 21), and overall I have had no problems with it apart from when I first started taking it I had a month-long period. It regulated my periods, didn't affect my hair/weight, and I didn't find it had any impact on my mental health (although this may partly be because I was so happy my acne cleared up). I stopped taking it when I was 18 to give myself a break, but I found my skin got really bad again, so I panicked and went straight back onto it and it cleared up after a month or so (but I had another month-long period). I also find if I miss just one pill I come on my period."

For Acne "I was prescribed Yasmin to get rid of my acne. Six months ago, I stopped taking the pill, and about four months later, my face had a sudden acne breakout, it was quite severe. I had had acne before, but my skin had recovered from it. My dermatologist advised me to take Yasmin again, as he said my acne was hormonal. I have been taking it for a month and a half, and it has done miracles for my face, I just have three spots and scars left. However, I have noticed that my mood has been changing for the worse, but I prefer this to having acne, as it completely destroyed my self-confidence. Completely worked for me."

For Acne "I decided to try out Yasmin in the hopes that it would help clear my skin. For a long time, I had suffered from hormonal acne, primarily along my jawline, and my doctor thought that Yasmin might be a good solution for me. It took exactly 3 months on the pill for my hormones to stabilize, but since then, my skin looks great. I've been on the pill for 7 months now, and I never get breakouts anymore, it has really boosted my confidence. I've also been lucky in that I haven't really noticed any side effects. I've gotten slightly bigger boobs, but that's about it. For me, Yasmin is the best. And for everybody out there who's trying it out - be patient, it takes a while for the hormones to stabilize, but when it happens, the result is wonderful."

For Birth Control "I recently started the Yasmin pill, and at first, I honestly didn't think I would be able to carry on with it because it was making me feel so nauseous! I also got really bad headaches, which caused me to be really moody. However, my doctor told me to give it a few weeks to settle and for my system to get used to it. I was not happy about this, let me say! I wanted to scream at her to feel how ill I felt. It got better though, on the fifth day, I woke up, and I felt fine all of a sudden, all of the side effects I was feeling had just gone. I had terrible skin, and it has made my skin so much better, and I feel fine now. If you're taking it and you're feeling ill like I did - I know it feels like crap, but honestly, just hold on, because it will go."

For Birth Control "Been on Yasmin for 6 months now after years on all other brands under the sun. I have always been fit and healthy, but for some reason on this pill, I am even thinner. I can't gain weight no matter how bad I eat, it's amazing! The only downside is I am so hungry a lot of the time, but it's awesome because it doesn't lead to any weight gain, so I can eat as much as I want! Also, no cramps at all, and I used to get them bad. Limited headaches. Finally, after 12 years, I've found something that works super well for me."

For Menstrual Disorders "I was diagnosed with endometriosis about 10 months ago, and although they removed it, I started to get the pain again a couple of months ago. Instead of opting for more surgery, I tried the pill even though I have always gotten bad side effects from hormone birth control methods. I tried Microgynon for a month, but put on about 7 lbs of water retention. I then tried Yasmin, and I've been on it nearly a month, and I love it! I've had no cramps, my breasts are bigger (bonus for me after losing them after losing weight), I haven't put on any weight, no bloating, and my skin looks clearer. LOVE IT!"

For Birth Control "Been on Yasmin for 5 years. Always had brain fog. Gained 50 lbs. Lost hair. Stressed. Appetite went way up. Recently decided to go off the pill. After the period, I instantly felt better. Sex drive is coming back. Just feel good. Hope it keeps up, but I'm not going back."

For Acne "I spent a fortune on washes and face lamps for my acne before going to the doctor who prescribed me antibiotics, which changed my life, but they stopped working. I tried another antibiotic, which didn’t work, and then 2 other face creams. I was at my wit's end and cried daily about my skin. I researched some more and came across Yasmin, which I started 3 months ago. For the first 6 weeks, my skin was awful, the worst it has ever been. I got cyst spots over my neck (never suffered with neck) and face, and even places like my toe. I felt awful thinking I can’t wait another 2 months to see if it works. The last spot cleared 8 weeks in, and I think I’ve had one spot since, and even flying, drinking alcohol, and being on my period, which are usually all bad for my skin. When I first started, my moods were all over the place, but now my body is used to it, that’s calmed down, one bad headache, but I put that down to stress. Try it, but don’t give up if your skin goes really bad like mine did!"

For Birth Control "I had a very severe stroke from using Yasmin, it was ten years ago but has still left me seriously disabled. Ladies, if you want to use birth control, just make sure that it is progesterone only, which is much safer for you. NOT combined estrogen and progesterone like Yasmin and Yaz. My neurologist, a stroke expert, gave me this information!"

For Birth Control "I've been on this pill for the past ten years, and I love it. I've never had a menstrual cramp in my life, I never feel PMS symptoms (bloating, cravings, moodiness, etc.). It has been helpful with acne. One downside is my sex drive has diminished, but it's hard to tell if the pill is the culprit, as I've been on it for ten years. No weight gain from this either!"

For Birth Control "Was on Yasmin for 6 years and for the first few years, everything was fine. No side effects at all. Until recently, when I started getting low moods, severe anxiety, IBS, and then ended up in A&E with severe abdominal pain, which turned out to be gallstones, all of which were attributed to this pill. So, cons: • Anxiety • Depression • Gallstones • IBS Pros: • Didn't get pregnant • Clear skin • Regular periods Did the pros worth the cons? Absolutely not."

For Acne "I'm actually on Laila 35, which is the generic version, and it has taken some time for my skin to get where it is, but I had horrible cystic acne on my jawline and then just general acne on my face, chest, and back. The pill has absolutely cleared my skin to the point where I can go out and not feel like I need makeup. Maybe once I have my scars treated, I might not even need makeup for school. I get heaps of compliments on how much better my skin is and looks, let alone how good I feel. Unless you have acne, you wouldn't understand that it's not just something on your face that goes away when you use a cleanser, it's a mental thing. Take this and don't expect instant results."

For Birth Control "I regret ever taking this. Took it for 7 years. Everything was great while on it, but I lost about 40% of my hair volume (telogen effluvium) and had severe cystic acne for 6 months after it. On top of that, it messed with my humor. I felt angry and sad for months. It's now 1.5 years since I stopped it, and even though the condition has improved, I still have a long way to go. I had to cut my hair short, and I'm trying to fix the scarring from the acne."

For Menstrual Disorders "I have taken this pill for 7 years, and my gyno recommended a lower dose pill (Yaz). Yasmin has done wonders for PCOS symptoms of acne, weight gain, and overall mood issues. I am 45 years old and do not smoke. Overall, it has been an amazing pill."

For Acne "I have suffered from acne over the past couple of years. I was on the implant and decided to come off as I put it down to being hormonal. I have tried most shop-bought cleansers, etc., and I found that nothing was working. The doctor put me on the Yasmin pill, and after 3 months of using it, all of my spots have cleared up. I get the occasional spot, but my skin is no longer inflamed, painful, or covered in spots. I would also recommend benzoyl peroxide cream. I don’t normally write reviews, but after what I’ve been through, I would love to help other people. Hope this helps."

For Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "I started taking this pill 1.5 months ago for PMDD. I still have PMS to some degree, but my mood is SO MUCH BETTER! I was really skeptical to take this at first because of all the negative experiences I read, but I gave it a try anyway. I feel like I am myself again. I feel happier, am less anxious (which was severe), I can handle stressful situations better. My sex drive has gone up because I’m not always in pain or depressed anymore. I still need to take it longer to notice full effects, but the ones I’ve already noticed are life-changing for me. I am so much more confident about myself. I don’t feel “puffy” anymore. No more swollen stomach. My acne is not gone (yet), but is a LOT better than it used to be. My wounds heal better. My skin looks more moisturized and clear. I have more energy. The only downside is that I’m very tired in the morning. I will come back for an update after 3 months of taking it."

For Acne "I was put on Yasmin 3 months ago for my acne as well as a use of contraceptive. Over the past three months, my skin had gotten so much worse. Big cystic spots around my jawline and cheeks, as well as small under-the-skin pimples. I've suddenly started to realize myself changing with depressive moods, anxiety, emotional wreck, weight gain, and generally not myself. I will not be taking my fourth month packet, as the hope for clear skin is just not worth this feeling. My advice: don't take this pill."

For Birth Control "I am in recovery for an eating disorder (binge purge anorexia) and decided to get prescribed “Yasmin.” After researching that it does not cause hair loss or weight gain (two very important things to me in recovery). I read many reviews and ignored them, thinking that as long as the stated above side effects didn’t happen, I would be happy. Not only has my mental health declined enormously, but I have also experienced a huge increase in my appetite, and with that, the gaining of 4 pounds over a mere 4 weeks. This has been extremely distressing, I cannot warn you enough. Nothing can make you gain weight but the food you put in your mouth, but it did create a sense of “lack of control” around food that I had spent months moving away from. It has made me feel crazy and not myself. Please listen to the long list of users that have had an awful experience and find a different one. Don’t do it to yourself and find another one. Hope this helps someone."
