For Birth Control "I've never had a problem with birth control until I started taking Syeda. Worst pill for my body, and I'm worried it won't protect against pregnancy. I have so much acne-new ones come every day! Bleeding all month, so tired, can't stop eating, migraines increased, and major insomnia. I've gained a lot of weight in 2 months. Took for 2 months and just stopped. My doctor said my Nikki birth control wasn't covered anymore by insurance, so she put me on Syeda. If it has the same ingredients as Yasmine and Yasmine was recalled because they found it doesn't prevent pregnancy efficiently, then why would anyone take this??"

For Birth Control "So I got switched from Yasmin to Syeda, and I had never heard of Syeda, so I read all of these reviews and STILL decided to try it out, which was the biggest mistake of my life. I didn’t notice all that much my first month on it, but I started the first week of my second pack, and I am going to burn the rest. I cannot believe how awful my skin has gotten in such a short period of time. I have large, painful cystic acne on my cheeks and the most insane redness! I’ve also gotten keratosis bumps on my legs, which I have never had before. My mood has changed so much, I feel like I’m not even in my own body at times. I know it works for some, but honestly I wouldn’t even give it a go, just stick to what’s working for you. Wish I listened to the awful reviews on this because I am suffering from it now :("

For Birth Control "I switched from Yasmin to Syeda, which is just the generic brand of Yasmin, a little over three months ago. I know it’s still very early in my experience, but this pill is doing so much more harm than good. When I first took Syeda, I experienced immediate changes in my mood, I was so sad and easily irritated all the time. The week before I was supposed to get my period, I started spotting. I thought it was just a first-month use thing, but it happened before my last two periods. Along with this, right after my period, I get horrible yeast infections that I’ve never had before and have started to develop cystic acne without changing anything in my actual skincare routine. I’m hoping this all goes away within the next few months, but so far my experience with this pill has been terrible."

For Birth Control "I started taking Syeda in an attempt to regulate my period. I lasted 3 weeks on it. The worst side effect was horrible insomnia. I also had constant headaches, nausea, mood swings, and anxiety. I haven't taken one of these pills in 10 years. I have had 3 children and a tubal ligation. The effects these medications have on your body are astounding and grossly downplayed. Many relationships have been ruined by the side effects of the combined pill: anxiety, depression, mood swings. Do yourself a favor and get an IUD if you need hormonal birth control. I can't believe women still have to rely on this stuff."

For Birth Control "I was switched to this by my pharmacy and promised it was the same, just a generic version of Yasmin. Lies. Increased appetite and EXTREME anxiety. I have never experienced anxiety like this in my life. Also, insomnia. I had no clue what was going on. I thought it was stress from uni until I googled the name and anxiety, and boom. Everything made sense. I will never take it again."

For Acne "I took Syeda to lessen my acne. The first four months I had the worst acne I have ever had, cheeks, forehead, everywhere. It was painful and hurt my confidence. I kept taking it because many users here said to keep taking it, that the acne would subside. Also, it’s good at helping me prevent pregnancy. I'm on my fifth pack now and all my acne is gone. I just have dark spots from the scarring. It feels so good, clear skin is all I wanted. But now I have moderate depression and anxiety that can become debilitating at times. I know if I stop taking it, my acne will flare up. But this depression is really disturbing my quality of life."

For Birth Control "My pharmacy gave me Syeda as a generic for Yasmín, and just now I'm realizing this birth control is the cause of my longer periods and ongoing spotting. I’m definitely going back to my doctor and switching to a different one. This one does not work."

For Birth Control "MOST USELESS PILLS EVER!! I took Ocella for years, and my periods were light and guaranteed to start Placebo Pill Tuesday or Wednesday. My insurance company started making us do mail delivery in ‘18 or ‘19 and changed my pills to a generic that didn’t even have a name, then started sending me Syeda in ‘19, and in May of ‘19, it’s like I’m not even on birth control pills anymore. I randomly start spotting, bloating, and cramping at some point during the 3rd week of active pills and have absolutely NO idea when or if I’ll start my period and have started my period while still on the active pills! I’ve started on Placebo Pill Monday, occasionally Wednesday, but mostly Thursday or Friday. Starting on Tuesday has completely stopped. My flow is absolutely unpredictable. My Ob-Gyn has me taking Lysteda to control the heavy bleeding that starts on day 1, and length ranges from 4 to 9 days and has even gone for 3 straight weeks. These are seriously the worst pills."

"I've been taking Yaz on and off since I was a teen for what we thought was PMDD (which ended up being endometriosis). Since switching insurance, I had to take generic, which led me recently to Syeda. In the month I've taken it, I've gained 10 pounds, my acne is worse, and my first period since taking it is pretty painful and heavy. Needless to say, I'd rather pay out of pocket for Yaz again than continue with this mess of a generic."

For Birth Control "Please do not listen to all the negative reviews on here. I have been on this pill for 9 entire years now, I started when I was only 14 years old. The pill has improved my periods so much. I used to not be able to function the first 3 days of my period because of horrible cramps and would lose so much blood. My breasts grew multiple cup sizes on this medication, I went from having nothing to now having double D cups. So beware of that, lol! Also, it was great in the beginning for acne, but now I have been having it more often, but not because of the pill. Not to mention, it is also great at preventing pregnancy. I have no complaints about this pill!"

For Acne "Used to take Ocella for years, and my skin was clear. Rare acne cysts. Stopped taking it. Off the pill, I would get a guaranteed 1-3 scarring cysts per month on my chin. Hormonal acne. Went back on BC pills and was given Syeda. Huge appetite increase. Didn’t really gain weight but got a little extra flab on my belly. Over 6 months, I had gotten 2-3 acne cysts. Not the best results considering they scar. Tried taking multiple packs at a time, and that helped. Always got cysts 2 weeks after the period around expected ovulation, just like when I was off the pill. Only side effect with Syeda, as mentioned, was increased appetite. I’d get spotting mid-month. At first, few months felt like I had no ambition (mood change), but that feeling subsided. I had several other months where I took one pack, got a period, 2 weeks later experienced very light spotting and an acne cyst. But not every month did I get a cyst. Frustrating and unpredictable! Only twice did I take two packs at a time."

For Birth Control "Been taking Ocella for a good 8 years, and then the pharmacy switched me over to Syeda because of insurance. Man, I wish I would’ve told them no, no, no. In 2 months, I’ve gained 15 lbs, my boobs went up a size, I’m moody and randomly cramping throughout the month when I’m not supposed to start my period for weeks. DO NOT RECOMMEND."

For Birth Control "This is NOT Yasmin. It's HORRIBLE! I have been taking birth control for 20 years for PCOS and never had a problem. Yasmin or Mylan generic, within a week I started to feel bloated and very uncomfortable. As soon as I stopped, I was fine. My pharmacist has said I am not the only one too."

For Birth Control "It’s a really good birth control. It helped regulate my cycle, and I use 3mg of the birth control. It works just fine. It protects me from pregnancy. I take it like I’m supposed to. I had a little headaches in the beginning, then it went away after 2 days of taking it. I have been on this birth control for 5 months now."

For Birth Control "I started taking Syeda in June of 2019. I had severe acne, and nothing was working. It cleared up my skin in 3 months. Although it kept my skin clear at first, it made me extremely depressed and suicidal. It decreased my libido and sex drive. I had so many mood swings and depressive episodes. Once the pandemic hit in March 2020 and all the maskne, my acne came back, but it was manageable. I decided to stop taking birth control in July of 2021 because I had gotten to the point where I knew if I kept taking this medication, I would end up hurting myself, and it didn’t even help my skin anymore and just made me sick. I’ve been way happier without it."

For Birth Control "I have been on Syeda for almost 5 months. I like it, periods have been fine. But I have severe breast pain before my period, never experienced the heaviness and tenderness with other birth controls as bad as while on this. I have noticed weight gain, but nothing crazy. I, for now, am going to continue taking it."

"I have PCOS and have been through trial by fire with about 5 other birth control pills (including the mini pill) and the arm implant. For me, Syeda is the first to work. It doesn’t give me mood swings, anxiety, or depression, or breakthrough bleeding. I have gained weight, but I am also on SSRI antidepressants, so this may be a compounding factor. I have my doctor prescribe three packs of pills for pickup at a time so that I can take it continuously (without the sugar pill week) since this helps with my gender dysphoria. I have been on this medication for two years now and rate it highly. Everyone’s body is different, but if you have PCOS, this might be worth a shot."

For Birth Control "I have been taking Yazmin generics for over 5 years and have not experienced any problems. My weight has remained stable. However, when I was prescribed Syeda, it was the worst experience. It caused me severe anxiety and negatively impacted my mental health, leading to negative self-talk and almost depression. During PMS, my thoughts became even more negative, and I was unable to feel fully happy. I will never take Syeda again and cannot understand why it is still on the market. In my opinion, it should be removed immediately."

For Birth Control "Terrible. I got switched to this just about 6 months ago and gained 20 pounds in the first couple of months from a weight I maintained for over 4 years. The weight gain has made me severely depressed, and I can’t get it to go down even while I work out and eat healthy."

For Birth Control "I actually like Syeda. I had a terrible experience with Nexplanon and Aubra. Was spotting three weeks out of the month. Microgestin was better, but it made me gain weight like crazy! With Syeda, I don’t find myself wanting to eat all day; also, it actually is regulating my cycle."

For Acne "Started taking Syeda for acne, and my emotions were out of whack. I also started getting horrific migraines, which had never happened and don’t run in my family like migraines usually do. Took me months to track it back to Syeda, but it ended up being a side effect that none of my doctors or pharmacists caught. Do not recommend this birth control, the risks far outweigh any good reviews I’ve read, and it did nothing to help with my periods either. Avoid at all costs!"

For Birth Control "I took this medication for about six months to treat PCOS and autoimmune thyroiditis. It successfully managed most of my symptoms, however, I did notice that it caused me to have extreme anxiety, cramps, and bloating before my period, possibly to the level of PMDD (premenstrual dysphoric disorder). It is definitely one of the better medications I have taken to treat my symptoms, but for me, there were better options out there."
