For Birth Control "I've been taking Gianvi brith control pill for the past 3-4 months and have experienced more good than bad. The first couple things I've noticed that's different is my skin and period cycle. For one thing it did what it was supposed to do and regulated my period. I used to get my period every other month during random days. It was irritating because I never knew when it would come. For my skin, it's improved it a good amount but I'm not someone who had bad skin to begin with. I noticed I stopped getting pimples altogether and when I do it's rare (I promise I have a bad skin routine too so I was surprised.)I haven't gained weight and I didn't experience any decline in my mental health. The only thing that it didn't help with was my period cramps. My OBGYN told me this was supposed to help but my cramps are just as sore. I also noticed that my periods are longer than when I wasn't on birth control. I used to only have my period for 5 days but now it's the full 7 days."

For Birth Control "The first probably 5 months of this pill was awful. My skin got worst, I spotted, and I had bad anxiety. However, it's been two years now and I have never been happier. I haven't had a bad pimple in MONTHS and my acne completely cleared. We stopped using condoms and have been fine, no scares. My period is only 3 days and very light, plus it starts always on the hour! It's amazing. Plus, I lost about 10 pounds from 127 to 117 at 5.4'"

For Acne "Can't say I'm a fan. I went on Gianvi for acne and mood swings. The first two months were a really rough adjustment. I levelled out after that and my acne seemed to calm down a bit, but my mood swings were still bad. It's been 6 months now and I'm going to kick this pill to the curb. I've had bad acne flair ups, menstruating twice a month, and my mood is up and down constantly. If the reason you are taking a medication is to help rectify a problem, and that problem becomes worse, it's not worth it."

For Birth Control "I started taking Gianvi about one month ago. Prior to that, I was on Heather 2 years. I was prescribed Heather because I was a nursing mother. I had bad breakouts with Heather and inconsistent long periods. After nursing, I wanted to switch to a more effective birth control. I was prescribed Apri and went for an emotional roller coaster. I was only on Apri for 2 weeks and my breakouts were worse than they have ever been. After Apri, I was switched to Gianvi. Wow What a difference. I have been on it for just shy of 1 month and my breakouts have stopped. I have some scarring from my previous breakouts, but they are fading. I have noticed that my mood seems to be "normal.""

For Birth Control "Have been taking this a full month now. I started because I developed hormonal acne during my period but now I’m actually regretting starting the Gianvi!!! My skin is soooo BAD. Actually terrible. Little tiny bumps all over my face and pus filled pimples, cysts. You name it. Eating away at my face. It’s only been a month, so I’ll wait 2 more because I heard that can happen. If no changes I’m off this ASAP. Otherwise I haven’t experienced any of the mentally altering side effects, my mood is the same. No depression or panic attacks. Oh, also unsure if I’m spotting? Or if I got my period and it’s very light?"

For Birth Control "I got on Gianvi at 19 years old when my periods were irregular and I had horrible cramps, to prevent pregnancy and help my acne. It helped my acne a lot and I was excited to finally not worry about pregnancy at a young age. I was skeptical about side effects at first but waited three months before judging my experience at all to make sure I was used to it. I ended up staying on Gianvi for about 6 months. My experience was terrible. I would’ve taken acne over the effects it had on my mental health any day. I had crippling anxiety everyday that I never experienced prior to. It eventually got so bad that I had panic attacks everyday and cried and didn’t eat for 3 days. I ended it immediately and while I still suffer from mild anxiety, it’s a million times better than it was when I took this. Please be careful and pay attention to your body"

For Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "I first started with a low hormone pill called Azurette. I was having heavy periods that lasted for a week and terrible acne, so I decided to try Yaz and my doctor prescribed me Gianvi, first month my face was completely clear and my period used to last 3 days max but my anxiety and mood changes got worse and my sex drive went from 10 to zero because I was very dry, also noticed my skin got really dry too and I looked like a 60 year old lady!"

For Acne "I was put on this for my acne after having acne for 10+ years and was on Nikki/ Gianvi a little over TWO YEARS. After a year, I started to feel very sick as if my immune system was attacking itself every single day. I would wake up with a sore throat, was getting sick all the time for long period of time, and just felt overall so tired and not like a healthy 22 year old. After spending close to a year seeing doctor after doctor, various blood tests/ procedures, the doctors could not find anything. I was convinced I suddenly had an autoimmune diseases. After doing immense research on birth control, I discovered it can cause an increased risk of autoimmune diseases, cause NUTRIENT DEFICIENCIES, ETC. After stopping birth control, I cannot even begin to tell you what a change I have seen. I no longer feel sick on a daily basis which is insane and I also have so much energy!! This birth control MADE MY ACNE WORSE, and CAUSED MUCH ANXIETY."

For Acne "I started taking the Gianvi birth control to help with irregular bleeding and most importantly with hormonal acne. I haven't stopped spotting since starting the pill a week ago. It also makes me feel so nauseous and fatigued! Haven't noticed a difference on my skin yet. I really want to stop taking the pill because the nausea is horrible and I over all feel like poop. I will finish the pack and see how I feel over the next couple of weeks. If the nausea, spotting, fatigue, and skin doesn't improve... then I will stop taking it. These symptoms are not worth it for me."

For Birth Control "I have been on Gianvi for over a year now and I love it. I lost some weight, but with that my breasts also got a bit smaller. The headaches I was getting on my previous birth control are completely gone, and I get my period for 2 days and its extremely light, compared to my 2 week long extremely heavy period. On my previous birth control I gained some weight, my breasts got huge, and I got terrible headaches, but none of that with Gianvi. I know a lot of people have terrible side effects, but honestly I love Gianvi. (I was previously on Ortho Tri- Cyclen Lo)."

For Menstrual Disorders "I'm a teenager with a family history of endometriosis, and has had severe problems with my menstrual cycle. I have gone through many birth controls to find Yaz being the best at controlling all of my symptoms, as well as being an effective birth control. I have been on Yaz for two years, and just this summer, I was switched to Gianvi. My body is very touchy and picky about pills and did not react to Gianvi well, even though it was a switch that shouldn't have made a difference. It did not control my previous menstrual symptoms. I found out I had gotten pregnant, even with other contraceptives, and just went through a horrible miscarriage. If any other women out there have problems, I would recommend switching back to Yaz just from experience"

For Birth Control "This is my third and final update - good news! - just make it through the first pack and a half! My body completely acclimated after that and I feel totally normal again. After getting back into a regular workout routine again, the pills emotional and physical effects gradually lessened. I do still have some breast sensitivity, light bloating, and as of recently, a lower sex drive, but I'm not the raging, depressed, lethargic mess I was a month ago lol. My advice - the first month and some is going to suck; I felt physically and emotionally so out of whack, I wanted to give up 3-5 times a week, but GIVE IT TIME. Give your body a solid month and a half to adjust and then make the decision to stick with it or move on."

For Acne "I am almost done with my first month of Gianvi. I have tried just about everything for my moderate cystic acne and am sad to say it has so far gotten worse on this medication. I have a history of minor depression/anxiety but have been happy and unmedicated until starting this pill. Since starting this pill, my anxiety has sky rocketed and my sex drive has decreased big time. I am 2 days away from the sugar pill and debating whether or not to stop taking it."

For Birth Control "I have been on Gianvi for 5 months. The first month I had bad mood swings but that went away. My period is lighter. I still have some PMS symptoms before my period. My moods have been better. The pill has cleared my skin. I have not gained any weight. I really like this birth control."

For Acne "I have been on Gianvi on and off for about 2 years. I went on it to help my acne and to lighten my periods. Period is a little heavy the first day or so then completely goes away by the 3rd day of white pills so no complaints there. Although my acne is TERRIBLE! It's a great pill for someone that doesn't get acne but I already suffer from it so I will be switching soon."

For Birth Control "I've tried several different pills and the nuva ring. I always had terrible side effects including bloating, mood swings, and dryness. This pill has been great. I've been on it for about eight months now. The only side effect I had was weight loss. I went from about 128 to 118 in one month."

For Acne "This is the first bc pill that that prevented pregnancy and cleared up some mild adult acne without making me crazy. Every other form of Yaz or other bc pills I've been on had made me an emotional wreck with extreme moodiness. I am happy to report I have clear skin and a clear happy mind as well."

For Acne "I reviewed this in January 2013 and I have been taking this for about 9 months now. I still like it. Keeps me un-pregnant and my acne has significantly improved. Only time I break out is a couple times around my period cycle. Some side effects, I do not enjoy are monthly yeast infections and tiredness. But I eat yogurt and take AZO pills for the yeast infections and that seems to work. Need to figure out what to do about the tiredness, I need a nap everyday now. My sex drive has also dropped. I feel I have mellowed out a little too, don't get as irritated with things and more chill. I like it."

For Birth Control "I took this pill for 3 years. I felt fine on it but my triglycerides went from 120 the year prior to taking it to 226 the following year. The year after that it was 230 and then last year it was 240. I tried to research reasons for triglycerides increasing and found that it could be birth control. I got tested this year after being off the pill for 18 months and my triglycerides were 88. I have to say that I believe it was Gianvi. I'd keep an eye on this."

For Birth Control "The only reason I would rate this a 5 is because it has prevented pregnancy, but since I started Gianvi 6 months ago I have been depressed, irritable, angry, unmotivated, and absolutely NO SEX DRIVE. This may be why this pill works so well."

For Acne "I rated this birth control at a 3 because it drastically changed my daily life. Before taking the pill, I was a morning person, but after taking it for 3 months I found it extremely hard to get out of bed in the morning. I was getting 8 hours of sleep or over, which is usually plenty for me and by 9 at night I couldn't do anything but lay on the couch. I am an athlete and I run everyday 5-10 miles, but I got to the point where my entire body would get so exhausted I couldn't make it through a run. I got on it to help acne, which it didn't seem to get any better. On the plus side, I didn't experience any spotting like other people have mentioned and my periods were normal. I got off the pill and started feeling better."

For Birth Control "I have been on three different birth controls, my first one was amazing but they discontinued it! So I am now on Gianvi, it has been almost 5 months I have not stopped spotting for almost two months. It has put a huge damper on my sex life with my boyfriend. I also have noticed I am very dry, which was never an issue before this pill. I have much high anxiety and really bad cravings as well. After reading all the reviews I will be stopping this pill tomorrow!"

For Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder "I started Gianvi March of last year and requested this brand specifically, because a friend had told me how well it worked for them, and it is the generic for Yasmin, which is often used to treat PMDD. I was seriously suffering mentally and emotionally every month before starting Gianvi. Granted I have battled depression/bipolar disorder for quite some time, but everything was so much darker right before my period. I was extremely irritable to the point where everything set me off and I'd get violent, I was crying uncontrollably, completely hopeless, suicidal, etc. In addition to this, I also suffered from pretty bad acne (I'd get large, painful, cystic-like pimples every month that would then often take months to go away). While I still do get acne (I've had it since my early teen years), I no longer get the kind of acne I had been, and it is much more manageable. I'm so glad I gave Gianvi a shot."

For Birth Control "Hard to tell I'm even on birth control! After several pills in the past made me an acne covered, fat crazy maniac I swore off pills for 7 yrs. Gianvi is my first and only one! Only on 2nd pack but my horribly painful, heavy period is already so much better! Hardly any cramps, no bloating and much lighter flow. No acne, no emotional issues, I actually seem calmer! Breast have gotten a little bigger but no tenderness since the first week. Side effects I experienced the first week or so were headaches, breast tenderness & very tired. I almost stopped taking it and I'm so glad I didn't because it passed and now I have no complaints! You just don't know until you try!"

For Acne "This is the first oral birth control I have tried and I enjoy it. I have been on it for almost 3 months now. The first month I had some side effects: I had mild Nausea, Headaches, and super Cravings for salty and sweet foods. I started taking this birth control to clear up my acne, I didnt see a difference until after the first pack. I notice a huge difference now, and my face is a lot more clear, but not all the way yet, but it takes time for your body to adjust. My periods have been lighter, and I dont get as bad of cramps. Recently I have been feeling extra moody and tired though which I do not like, but I will wait it out and let my body adjust. Overall I like it."
