Safyral (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium) "I was put on Safryal two months ago after being on Camresem due to breakthrough bleeding. Safyral definitely took care of that issue, but it came with several others. I now have very painful cramps just before and on my period. My periods last 7 days and are very heavy (which is normal for me off of birth control), and I'm constantly bloated. I also get headaches more than usual, and have gained about 4lbs and cannot lose weight at all. Going tomorrow to hopefully switch to a lower dose again."

Beyaz (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium) "It took 2-3 months for everything to regulate, but now that I've been on it for almost a year, I love it. My cramps aren't as bad, bleeding is much lighter than it used to be, hormones are 1,000 times more steady, and best of all: only 4 periods per year! Only drawback is that I get random menstrual-like cramps, but they're very light, don't even need to take ibuprofen, it's more of a small annoyance than anything. I haven't gained weight, but my face has broken out some over the past 1-2 months; it didn't for the longest time so I'm not sure whether there's a correlation to the Beyaz or not. I take it at night, because if I take any kind of birth control in the morning I feel extremely dizzy/nauseous all day. Overall an awesome choice!"

Beyaz (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium) "I have been on Beyaz for a week now. Before that I had an IUD, which was removed after four years because of severe pain. The only side effect I really notice at this point is nausea throughout the day and I feel tired all day. I have a history of depression and anxiety with panic attacks. I don't notice any difference with those symptoms so far. The nausea is really bad around the afternoon every day, even though I take it at night. Since this is only my first week I'm going to stick it out and see what happens this month!"

Safyral (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium) "I have been on this for a month and have had a horrible experience with my mood change, I have always been a happy person, and now for the last week I am so depressed and I am constantly feeling a nervous feeling in my gut, like anxiety. I had a baby 2 months ago, and even through my pregnancy never felt any mood swings or depression. I talked to my doctor and have decided to stop this birth control. Hope it'll fix this sad feeling."

Beyaz (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium) "Beyaz was the first birth control I experienced and I was on it for 2 years. It was nearly the perfect pill for me: no weight change, no mood swings, I regulated to it immediately, it dramatically shortened my periods to 3-4 days and was exactly on time every single month. The ONLY two problems I had that warranted me switching included a decreased sex drive, and multiple yeast infections. It was also a tad pricy. If it weren't for the yeast infections at least, I would stay on it! I'm nervous about switching pills, but I'm glad to know that I can go back on Beyaz if the others don't work out."

Safyral (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium) "This is my first time using birth control pills. I have been on Safyral for a month and a half. It has cleared up my skin significantly but caused bad mood swings and nausea. I am switching to a new birth control with a lower dose of hormones to help with my mood."

Safyral (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium) "I was put on Safyral in 2010, and took it for about 4 months. The nausea was the main reason I came off of it. I always felt terrible and I gained a lot of weight fast. My period never came back after I came off the pills. I was still able to get pregnant twice, still no periods. Just this year (2020) I had my first period in almost 10 years! I have had hormone tests, papsmears, everything and they all have said that theres nothing abnormal. But it's weird that I had a normal period like clockwork before I started that birth control and the almost 10 years of nothing. Btw I am now 28yrs old, so I'm nowhere near menopause. I do not have PCOS or any other hormonal issues. The only thing doctors can think of is possibly this birth control did something."

Beyaz (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium) "I've been taking Beyaz for about 5 years now, I started when I was 14 because of severe cramps. It worked great for a while but in the last few months I have experienced spotting and longer periods with more severe cramps. I am going to speak to a doctor about trying another pill."

Beyaz (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium) "I was put on this pill for two months. In the first 3 days I already knew I needed something else. I am normally quite laid back and cheery but have had small issues with anxiety. On Beyaz, My anxiety was constant and I would get into periods of complete emotional detachment or where anything someone said would hurt me. I would have anxiety attacks so bad that I would scratch at my skin and my boyfriend would have to hold me down. Not to mention my sex drive was pretty much gone and when I would have sex there would be intense pain or pressure on my lower abdomen. If you already struggle with anxiety or depression, I recommend staying away from this pill."

Safyral (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium) "I just finished a package of Safyral yesterday, and so far I've had no weight gain, my acne has cleared up some, and my period came when it was supposed to. However, I have had spotting all through the first month, which the doctor said was normal so I have no complaints other than one really big one. While being on this pill I have had serious depression. I'm always moody, crying and sad. I am so sad that I have no appetite, no desire to go out, I'm never happy. In fact, I get raging angry sometimes and I can not control any of this. I am hoping that this side effect goes away soon."

Beyaz (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium) "If you're browsing this wondering whether or not to try it, just give it a chance for 2 months. Everyone is so different, you'll never guess your own reaction browsing others experiences. But if you're curious- here's mine. It was recommended to me for a hormonal imbalance/acne when I was 18. I'm 25 now and still taking it. First month was awful but I'm glad I stuck it out. Now my periods are lighter, cramps are milder, migraines are gone, and I did not experience any major side effects (no weight gain or moodiness!). However my sex drive isn't as high. Not nonexistent just taken down a notch. I still think the benefits have outweighed the cons for me. Also - was switched to Rajani and then back to Beyaz. Didn't notice any difference"

Beyaz (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium) "This drug can create absolutely horrible stomach problems. I went from having no stomach issues to horrible IBS, all due to Beyaz. My sister was on the same birth control while I was on this drug and was also experiencing the same symptoms. I got an IUD and went off Beyaz and my stomach started feeling better. However, it took almost 9 months for my body to fully recover. Horrible side effects for a birth control, would not recommend it to anyone."

Safyral (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium) "I've been on Safyral since Jan 2011. (Almost a year) It was awesome at first, but as time went on it slowly started to change me. Great if you don't have a boyfriend. I say that because I have ZERO want or desire to be cuddly or intimate with my amazing, sweet, and down near perfect boyfriend of two years. It's the most frustrating of all my symptoms. Next are the mood swings, angry one minute, sad the next, anxious...it never ends! Before this pill I always considered myself to be a "guy" when it came to emotions, I was always just happy go lucky, NOT with this. Emotions=scale of 1 on this stuff. Pros=100% clear skin, all the time! No weight gain. Its not the WORST birth control out there but just be prepared to ride a emotional roller coaster."

Safyral (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium) "I have been on this for about 6 months now and started on it to help with my irregular and heavy periods as well as a contraceptive. Let me just say all women's hormones are different but for me this works. Don't have acne (never really had a problem with it before). I start my pills on a Friday and when I finish my active pills have my period on a Tuesday/Wednesday. It's prevented pregnancy (I'm only 21 don't want a baby) and keeps my periods in check I love it!"

Safyral (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium) "I had a pretty good experience with Safyral while I was on it. It helped regulate my cycle to be much more predictable and on time, and helped with my often severe leg-cramps. I didn't experience any weight gain, and though I was sometimes moody, it wasn't anything outside of normal PMS. It did what it was supposed to do, I suppose. However, my problems were when I had to go OFF Safyral. My insurance stopped covering it and at first my OB/GYN didn't have any samples for me, so I had to stop taking it for awhile. This is when I started to gain weight and had some crazy mood swings. I felt kind of depressed at times, cried often at work (which is unlike me), and just felt over-emotional."

Safyral (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium) "I haven't been on this pill for very long, but my doctor gave me some free samples because I was having breakthrough bleeding with LoEstrin. So far, my main complaint is nausea. I have never felt so consistently sick in my life - not even with the flu! I'll post again when I've been on it longer about weight gain, mood swings, cramps, etc."

Safyral (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium) "The first week, I was convinced I had the flu. I would vomit a few hours after I took the pill and felt lightheaded. I could barely function. That went away and I started getting headaches. Good thing is I didn't gain or lose weight."

Beyaz (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium) "Gained TWELVE pounds in the first 2 weeks! I don't get it? That is my only side effect but it is a bad one. I already eat healthy and work out regularly and I can't seem to drop this weight from the pill."

Safyral (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium) "My experience with Safyral had been an overall good one, but it didn't start out that way. During the first month all through the second month I had horrible mood swings. Borderline depression it felt like. But after the second month it went away, I started feeling better. I've had no acne. No weight gain. Lighter flows. So I guess this pill is different for everyone based on the other reviews, but this is a great one for me and I plan to keep using it for a long time."

Beyaz (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium) "I’ve been on Beyaz for about a year now and I’m loving it! The only thing I have noticed is when taking it make sure you take the pills at the same time or 30 minutes after you usually take it. I noticed when I got COVID I would sleep all night and day and it made it so I would spot (that sucked) but other than that if you’re good would taking your pills on time and you want to skip your period TAKE THIS BIRTH CONTROL!!"

Beyaz (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium) "I started Beyaz about 6 months ago. The first 3 months were great..no acne..no crying...no anger or crazy mood swings. The last 2 or 3 months have been bad though. My face started breaking out, I am very emotional and angry. I don't know if it's because my pharmacy started giving me the generic version or it's the hormones, but everything was great until recently."

Beyaz (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium) "I have ben taking Beyaz for like a month now and I wasn’t having any problems until the effects kicked in, within the month. I had a nightmare of an experience. I was feeling depressed, so sad for an action that I did which wasn’t even bad to begin with. I was feeling nauseous, blurred/foggy vision (which was high blood pressure ). I felt trapped. I felt this way for like 3 days straight. It was so scary. However my skin is super clear, which was why I began the pill in the first place . My sex drive has definitely lowered, which I’m the total opposite. I’m a very happy funny person but this made me feel not myself. I was getting panic attack’s and anxiety with sadness . I never read on side effects but this time I did and it was the pill . I’m so relieved to find out what it was."

Beyaz (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium) "I had been using the pill for 8 years. I used the first version of this pill, yaz, then switched to b-yaz when it came out. I went about my life for a few years and then considered switching to Ashlyan which is just one period every 3 months. Well let me tell you having only one period every 3 months is MAGICAL. Unfortunately my acne went full force, 6 months into the new pill my entire face was broken out. I was using the strong topical prescription available & still just getting worse. I was at my lowest when I realized the problem was probably the pill. I spoke with my doc & we decided I could switch back to b-yaz and just get 2 extra packs a year and still get only 1 period every 3 months. 1 month into b-yaz & My face is clear again!"

Safyral (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium) "Been on this birth control now for 4 months. It works well as it prevents pregnancy, but so far, I've had very heavy periods and severe cramps and tons of chin acne. Yaz never gave me these issues. I want to switch, but doctor told me to give it another 3 months to see what happens. If I still don't like it, then she said I can switch. I must stick it out until then."

Beyaz (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol / levomefolate calcium) "Took it for 4 years. Acne was cleared up perfectly and I actually lost weight. In the beginning however I had pretty bad anxiety and was noticeably more emotional. Towards the end of my use I noticed my lethargy and mental fuzziness while in college. I also had dryness and a pretty low sex drive. Great obvious pros...but for me there were hidden cons physiologically and psychologically."
