"Overall, Diclegis has definitely reduced my nausea, so that I don't want to die 24/7. I can still notice the nausea some, especially when it gets closer to the next dosage. I am on 4 a day. It took two days to lessen the nausea, and I've still been vomiting once a day on average, and holding more back. I still need to keep my stomach full, but at least I can drink sips of water and eat some food, other than only toast. The first three days, I was a zombie. Now I can stay awake with caffeine in the morning, a nap in the afternoon. I don't know if I can return to work because I am so sleepy, which is the major negative. I was also constipated the first several days. I hate taking medicine, but I have two children to care for and was getting dehydrated."

"I was given vitamin B6 and Unisom, which ended up making me more sick because I hated the smell of my own saliva after taking them. Then, the worst medicine on the planet called metoclopramide “Reglan,” which doesn’t work at all. Finally, after I lost 4 kg while constantly throwing up, my doc decided to put me on Diclegis, and ladies, don’t read negative comments, give it a try and you will forget nausea. They say it takes 5-7 hours to start kicking in, but for me, it took 4 hours. After those final four hours, I felt light and happy again. I am back in the kitchen, back on my feet, eating healthy fruits and vegetables. I couldn’t resist the smell of onion frying or baking bread with Reglan and other meds, but now I don’t even feel the smell of onion or biryanis being cooked constantly in the house... love him or her, whoever invented this formula."

"Diclegis helps, but it does not work completely. You will still have vomiting and have to take it often if your morning sickness is severe. It can make you very tired and give you an out-of-sorts feeling. It was expensive as well at $40.00 a week worth of pills."

"My last pregnancy, I had morning sickness the whole time. I took Zofran, but this time it's not recommended. So my doc gave me Diclegis. I've been on it for about 4 weeks, and I can't even get out of bed. I'm having constant headaches and can't stand up without wanting to pass out. The morning sickness went away for a few days and is now back with a vengeance. I stopped last night to see if I could focus a little more today. My toddler is running circles around me, and it's not fair to her that Mommy can't function. I wouldn't try this unless you can't keep anything down at all."

"This medication has been a lifesaver. I had terrible all-day nausea, was losing weight from throwing up. As soon as I started taking it, my nausea decreased about 90%, if not more. It does make you a bit sleepy, but I'll take that any day over nausea. Downside is the cost. They tried to charge me $750 for 100 pills. Luckily, I found a coupon online that got it down to $250. Pricey, but well worth it. Went from feeling like a sick zombie to feeling like a normal functioning human again. I was very hesitant to take any medication and do want to try to cycle off soon. I am almost 16 weeks now."

"I'm pregnant with twins, and after 6 weeks, I started having severe nausea, and at 10 weeks, the vomiting came along. My doctor prescribed Diclegis. It works, the only downfall is the aftertaste. I have this horribly bitter taste in my mouth. I don't even know which is better: the nausea or the bitter taste."

"My co-worker (who is also pregnant) suggested that I ask my doctor to prescribe Diclegis for me if I ever experienced nausea at any point in my pregnancy. I was sure I wasn't going to experience any of that until I hit week 7, and OH! I was in for a rude awakening. My nausea became horrible from day to day until I asked my doctor to prescribe something for my nausea. Of course, Diclegis was the medicine prescribed. After taking two at bedtime the first night, I didn't feel at all nauseated the next morning, therefore, I didn't feel the need to take the morning dose. Now, only if I feel nauseated in the morning time, I'll take my morning dose (1 tablet) and continue on with my day. The only downside? Diclegis can cause drowsiness."

"Before I took this medicine, I was miserable. I didn’t have any morning sickness really in the first trimester, but when the second one hit, I was throwing up multiple times a day and through the night as well. Pedialyte and body armor were my go-to and still didn’t work. Finally, I took this. I take 2 at night, and it kicks in. Once it’s time to take it again, my body usually knows because I start getting nauseous all over again as if it weren’t in my body. I sleep better. It’s amazing, and I hope the effects never wear off. I can actually eat now."

"I have been taking this medicine for about 3 weeks, and it barely works for me. It actually caused severe drowsiness, dry mouth, and dizziness. At first, I chalked all that up to pregnancy till I figured it was the medicine causing this. I accidentally missed one dose, and I felt horrible. The one of not many good things about this pill is it's so small, so it doesn't interfere with my inability to swallow huge horse pills. I will be asking my OB-GYN for another medication so I can at least be awake throughout the day."

"I was prescribed 2 pills at night before bedtime, and this was a lifesaver. Before these pills, I was throwing up and nauseous all day, every day. Around eight weeks, my doctor prescribed me this, and I took it the first night. I woke up and was actually able to eat and function through the day. The only side effect is being more tired in the morning, but I’ll take that over throwing up all day long."

"At first, the Diclegis seemed to work somewhat. I was no longer vomiting, though I was still gagging at times, but I was glad to be able to keep my food down. However, now I'm in my 2nd trimester at nearly 14 weeks and taking 3 a day, and the nausea is on and off all day, the gagging is intense, and I have even thrown up a few times. I'm not sure what is going on, the doctor even took me off my prenatals to help the nausea, and nothing seems to work. I was planning on decreasing my dose soon and getting off the medication, as I'm still skeptical and concerned about the long-term effects it could have on my baby. This medication also makes me very sleepy all day. It makes it really hard to wake up at 5 a.m. for work."

"Dealing with HG with all my pregnancies. This is my 3rd, and Diclegis is an absolutely life saver. I'm afraid skipping a day to see if it's actually the pill or a good pregnancy. I went from throwing up 40x a day with my last pregnancy to one or none! I hope it'll help with heartburn also, then it will be a 10 lol. Now, it will make you sleepy and hard to get up the next morning, another reason I'm giving it an 8, but I'm now 12 weeks, and it's actually not getting me too sleepy anymore as my body is getting immune to it."

"It has helped a little, not all of my sickness is gone. I feel overly exhausted and drowsy! I have been on it for about five or so weeks. I am taking it four times a day now, and I can feel major sleepiness! Just glad it has eased my nausea at least!"

"Had the worst morning sickness at 2 months and lasted almost 12 weeks. Nothing helped until my doctor tried a 3rd medication, which was Diclegis. I took it every night before bed, and it would get me through the next day. If I missed it, everything made me sick: coffee, eggs, gas stations, deli meats, fast vehicles. It was the worst. I lost weight that I could afford to lose until I started this medication. I now recommend it to other expectant moms who suffer the most and didn't get relief from Zofran."

"My doctor recommended this for my morning sickness. I was desperate to control the vomiting because I needed to go to work. I got extreme heartburn when I eat, no matter what. Eating was painful. If I skipped a dose, I would vomit uncontrollably. It was horrible. One day I threw up blood. I had noticed prior times that it seemed like blood spots, but I thought it was only in my head. By my 7th month of pregnancy, I still felt horrible and could not get off the pills. I started to feel chest pains. One night I woke up from the pain in my arm and chest. Very scary. I stopped taking the medicine that day."

"This medication is definitely helpful for more mild nausea. It worked in the beginning, but as my nausea became nausea with vomiting, I felt as though it wasn't doing much. I ended up stopping the medication for about a day when I realized how much worse my symptoms got without it. I began taking it again and was also prescribed Reglan to further help me from throwing up as often. Overall, I think the medication works best for less severe cases."

"I got a 10mg pill and it was great. I took it once at night and the nausea stayed away completely as long as I took it every day. When I forgot, I had to wait a bit longer for it to kick in, but used this throughout my entire pregnancy."

"I took this medicine twice with two different pregnancies, and both times, my baby’s heart stopped beating around the 8th week. I don't care what anyone says about this medicine and that it doesn’t cause the baby to die early on, I feel it does. It does help with nausea and vomiting."

"Diclegis isn't working. Always sick and throw up twice a day at least. This is the worst feeling in the world. Had horrible morning sickness with two other children that went away around 15 weeks. Almost 12 weeks and counting the days. This is third and last pregnancy. Think about this being genetic and cringe and cry at the idea of daughters going through this."

"I was afraid to start this medicine because of all the negative feedback, but I finally had enough of the all-day nausea. I took it for the first time two nights ago (2 pills at night), and yesterday I was still feeling weak and not too hungry, but then around dinner time, I actually got hungry! I had half of a grilled cheese and a cup of tomato soup! It felt so good to eat. I took the pills again last night, and this morning I dry heaved a bit while brushing my teeth, but then I had 3 saltines and feel okay to take a shower. Before I started taking this, it would take hours in the morning for me to feel well enough to take a shower. I am hoping this is going to help me get my work-life balance back. I was worried that taking it at night (when I wasn't feeling nauseous) wouldn't help me during the day, but I guess it does continue to work for a while. I did not have any issues waking up in the morning. I take the pills at 8 pm, tired by 9 pm, sleep until 6 am, and can get up easily."

"I was finally diagnosed with hyperemesis gravidarum (HG) and the hospital prescribed me this med when no other med even took the edge off. I was to take it before bed every night. The first night I woke up drowsy but able to take my daughter to school and even walk her to class! The second night I slept from 10 PM to 1 PM the next day. I had an upset stomach but not sure if the meds caused me to be on the toilet for 30 minutes. For me, it takes the edge off of my nausea but I still vomit and I am extremely drowsy. It feels like it took a whole bottle of sleep aid! No lie. I’m going to take it at least a week before I give up on it completely. And I sleep like a baby once I’m sleeping."

"This medicine is a lifesaver. I'm currently 8 months pregnant and hadn't gained weight at all throughout this pregnancy. I actually lost weight because I was nauseous, vomiting regularly, and couldn't eat throughout this entire pregnancy. I was taking Zofran, which did help, but thanks to Diclegis, I was able to start eating more, the nausea went away, and I gained 5 pounds in 2 weeks. I take Zofran throughout the day and 1-2 Diclegis at night because of the drowsiness, but this medicine is definitely a lifesaver for me."

"I started taking this medication three weeks ago, and it works great for morning sickness, but they don't tell you the risks. They say it is safe for both you and the baby, yet I started having severe chest and back pain and had blood work done over and over, and they told me I was fine. But I hadn't had a bowel movement in almost two weeks, and I was in so much pain I couldn't get out of bed. But I found out it was the reason for all my problems: restless sleep, chest pain, back pain, not being able to stand or take care of my children. It was not worth the pain and the suffering, and imagine what your baby is going through if you're in all that pain. There is a reason it was off the market for 30 years."

"A total waste! It was way too expensive, but if it worked, it would have been worth it! Got it, took two the first night. Could not keep my eyes open the next day. Day two took one at night and didn’t work at all, so the next day took two before eating dinner and went to sleep super early... It landed me in the hospital! My heart was rushing, I was throwing up, I was dizzy, and almost passed out! This is just a fancy B6!"

"I was prescribed this by my OB-GYN and began the medicine as instructed with 2 at night and 1 the next morning. I woke up in the morning feeling angry and frustrated and was taking it out on my 2-year-old and husband. I continued about my morning and took my daughter to daycare and realized something was not right about me. I was dizzy and feeling groggy and irritated. I was out of it for the rest of the day. I discontinued using the medicine and called my OB-GYN the next day, who told me I had a bad reaction to the medicine. Bad stuff for me and now still living with the nausea and sickness versus feeling all of that from the medicine."
