"This has not helped in my neck condition. I went to the doctor, and they put me on this. She diagnosed a strained trapezius muscle in spasms. This has been going on for 8 days now, and no relief. I am planning to go to urgent care again tomorrow."

"I've been using this medicine because I have a very large kidney stone. Unfortunately, I'm caught between a rock and a hard place. If I stop the medicine, passing the stones could be painful. But the side effects I'm having are just about as bad. I have to monitor my food intake because Flexeril makes me nauseous all the time. If I eat the wrong food or don't keep food on my stomach, I throw up. When I was in the hospital, I couldn't figure out why I threw up all the time. I'm not on any other medicines at the moment, and this has to be the cause. In the evening, just before I take the medicine again, I've noticed the nausea is gone and I start to feel better. But it all comes back with a vengeance once I take that pill again."

"Flexeril worked incredibly well for the first 3 weeks following hardware surgery on my foot that caused intense spasms. It relaxed the muscles, and I slept well! I seemed to build a tolerance to it quite quickly because after the 3 weeks it is no longer effective. The doctor sent in a prescription for Robaxin, so I'm going to try that next."

"I have been taking this medication since I detoxed off of fentanyl and Opana. The cause of my pain is lower back degeneration, I was in more pain on those drugs than without. However, the nerve damage in my lower legs was bad, and the detox made it evident that it wasn't going to get better. I take 2-4 mg most nights, but others I take only one, depending on the day. It helps to make my legs/feet rest and myself as well. I wake most mornings with the ability to stand and not cry. I can't take it very early as it will wear off and I will be awake by 3 a.m., and that is way too early for work."

"I really liked Flexeril when I first started taking this medication. About 4 months later, I started getting maddening cramps. I see a neuropsychiatrist for pain management, we deduced it might be the Flexeril. I stopped the Flexeril, and that seemed to work."

"I was prescribed Flexeril by my primary doctor for muscle spasms in my lower back. I could only take it for a short time, I felt no relief from the spasms in my back. I had to sleep at least 10 hours with it, or I couldn't get out of bed in the morning. I am heading to physical therapy, I'm sure they will help much better than a stupid muscle relaxer can."

"Was given Flexeril and Tramadol for post-op pain and muscle spasms following hip replacement surgery. Lucky to be alive. Spent 19 days on a ventilator, had a heart attack in the ICU, awoke from a coma after three weeks, hallucinations like being in Hell, pretty much written off for dead, then slowly and miraculously recovered due to the prayers of unbelievable friends, family, and friends of friends. Hate to say it, but I think we're better off accepting that pain is part of the human condition and we're best off just living with it."

"I was prescribed Flexeril in the emergency room after a week of low back pain with no immediate known cause, but they suspect that my back pain could be related to uterine fibroids. I was asleep within an hour after taking. I've also been experiencing insomnia related to pain. I woke up about 3 hours after taking Flexeril and was able to eat dinner while still feeling functional and able, and went back to sleep for 5 more hours. When I woke up, I felt a little groggy, but I have a lot of sleep to catch up on, and the grogginess seems to be fading away. After my first experience with the med, I will only take this before sleeping. My back pain has decreased to the point of being able to move around better, but did not take the pain away completely."

"Took one last night (not on any other meds), and had the worst cramp in my right calf during the night. 2 mg of Valium a few nights ago did the same thing (I have pelvic floor dysfunction). Literally sends me onto the floor screaming in pain for 5 minutes. Now I have 2 sore calves! Works well for others but not for me. This is the opposite of what should happen on muscle relaxers, and not the norm for sure."

"I had a total knee replacement 2 months ago. I've done all PT and my knee flexibility is great... it was tough for 4 weeks. My issue was not the knee itself as time went on. I had horrible muscle spasms in my hamstring, IT band, all major muscles in my thigh were affected. These spasms and cramping were awful. I did PT, deep tissue massage, dry needling - everything the docs suggested. They put me on Methocarbamol (did not work), Flexeril (did not work initially) and then Baclofen (I only took it twice and I just felt awful). I was desperate and exhausted from the pain. I hired a mobile IV service. RN working under a MD to come to my home to give me an IV - lactated Ringers solution with various vitamins and a 200mg of Magnesium. Within 30 minutes, my muscles finally relaxed. For the first time in 6 weeks, I had relief. It broke the locked up hard thigh muscles. I can now take 10 mg Flexeril PRN if I need it at night. Not daily. No opioids. Finally relief."

"This is the best muscle relaxer, in my opinion. I took a star off because it knocks me out cold. If I'm asleep, I'm not going to feel pain or spasms either way."

"I began taking 5 to 10 mg at night of Flexeril for terrible pelvic floor pain. I thought it was a UTI, but no. My doctor said it was a pelvic floor muscle problem. The Flexeril really helps. I have had no side effects except some drowsiness at night. It really works after about day 3."
