"I have taken this drug before, and it works within an hour. It helps me eat because I usually feel nauseous and dizzy before a UTI. I only take it until my symptoms improve. However, I would say that it makes you a bit sleepy and stops nausea and dizziness, so I'm quite happy to take it."

"After having my gallbladder removed, I was on the ward but being sick I was given Cyclizine intravenously. I immediately had paralysis and couldn't move. My hearing was muffled and sight was blurry. It took half an hour to wear off. Terrifying. I had a worse experience in 1994 with an anesthetic and anti sickness drug for an operation. I had neurological symptoms in my limbs which took a long time to recover. Apparently, when given intravenously, it should be done slowly. I suspect this didn't happen. Can't get doctors to believe that this happened to me."

"Last year I was staying at the hospital and was given Cyclizine through an IV injection, they said it would take 15-30 minutes to feel any effects but from the moment I felt the cold liquid going in my arm I felt weird. I began speaking absolute nonsense, it was a lot of fun and all the hospital staff got a good laugh out of it. By the time it had worn off I already wanted it again, I struggled to sleep and was sweating profusely from the withdrawal. The next morning I asked the nurse for it again but this time it was different, I looked at my hands and watched as they suddenly became very pale and you could see every single vein in my hand. I was shaking, having palpitations, my teeth were clattering, and i kept feeling like I was constantly falling out of consciousness and then suddenly being brought back to life. It was terrifying. The nurse sat by my side and was just as worried. He tried comforting me but was also scared I was having an allergic reaction to it. Never again."

"I had nausea, vomiting and dizziness, suspected to be because of IBS but not sure. Most days I will feel really awful after waking, after taking cyclizine I feel so much better, a miracle drug for sure!"

"My daughter took this to take along side iron tablets as was anaemic…she was on this tablet for 3 months twice a day one night she was rushed to hospital with stroke like symptoms paralysis on the left side of her body the doctors at present have put it down to Functional neurological disorder (FND) however reading up on this drug & all the side affects I’m pretty sure this had something to do with it. This drug sends signals to the brain to stop you feeling sick She now is still struggling to walk because the signals from the brain to the nervous system has been affected. I have been reading when some people have had an intravenous version of this drug it’s instant paralysis in some cases if just be very very careful of this drug"

"Took cyclizine a quite few times for nausea and to be honest it made absolutely no difference. I then got it IV as I was suffering badly with nausea in hospital and it was fantastic, helped me sleep (though I had nightmares) and no nausea at all. Can't understand how the tablets did absolutely nothing but the IV was a lifesaver!?"

"I have unexplained nausea that has been going on for about a month. The doctor gave me Cyclizine. It does help with nausea for sure but I've experienced some weird side effects e.g knocks me out for a good few hours and I had to take one at work. I felt awful. I honestly felt like I was having a bad trip. made me unbelievably anxious, heart palpitations, I was so drowsy and I couldn't even walk because I felt like I was going to pass out. I'm not sure if I'll be taking it again but it's the only thing that helps with nausea :("

"Was prescribed this to counteract nausea from another medication. The first day I took it I felt so “high” and awfully drowsy, could do nothing but sleep. Every time I take it I normally get that same “high” feeling along with trembling and drowsiness. I kept taking it because it was fixing the nausea and I could go to sleep straight away. 5 months later for whatever reason I experienced much different side effects. Struggling to breathe, throat felt like it was closing slightly, stomach pains, headache, hot chest, nervousness, irritated sinuses and sweats. Definitely would not be taking again despite the fact it’s helped me for so long!"

"This medication is a bonus the only problem is when I take it I feel like I'm going to pass out and hit the floor. I find the intravenous one works better as it's in the cannula. I find I get a dry mouth with this medication and I get numbness in both arms and my legs feel like jelly. Other than that the sickness is under control so I can't really moan as the other tablet they gave me in the hospital really upset me that metoclopramide I think that was the worst but we are all different in how we tolerate the medication."

"I took It and within an hour I felt terrible, felt like I was going to pass out, very dizzy and I couldn't talk, I also had chills and shakes, my family had to ring an ambulance. It was an awful experience, I was like that for nearly two hours. Be very careful with these tablets - it may scare you"
