Acthar (corticotropin) "I have been on Acthar for about a year. It has been the first medicine since my diagnosis (12 years ago) that has helped me. My only concern is the long-term side effects, which are not known. It is expensive, but I have not had to pay anything out of pocket with the help from the Chronic Disease Fund and my insurance."

"My mother has RA for the past 30+ years; she went on Acthar after she experienced a severe flare up. This medication is like a miracle, she has become so active and energetic since being on the medication. It seems to put her RA at bay. Recently she fell and was hospitalized, she did not have this medication for a week, she looked she was at death's door; we brought the Acthar from home so the the hospital could administer it, she was finally back. I would recommend this medication, based on what I have witnessed with my mother's health and the benefits it gives her to have a quality of life like she has not had in some time."
