Clindamycin / tretinoin topical "My dermatologist put me on this, and I had to pay $180 for one tube! A little does go a long way, though. At first, when I tried this, my skin didn't show any signs. My dermatologist told me to wait six months! I couldn't bear it, so I stopped using it and tried Clinique 3 step. It helped after 3 weeks, but then I never saw any major changes, so I used Ziana with Clinique, and it worked great. My face isn't acne-free yet, but it's getting close. After a while, though, the toner and moisturizer made my lower face flake unbelievably, so I stopped using it, and now I just use the soap 2 times a day and Ziana at night. It has worked wonders. Good luck."

Clindamycin / tretinoin topical "I love Ziana. Since I was 15 years old, I experienced 'zits on nose', they're basically huge pimples that grow so big under your skin and stay there for about two weeks. This was the worst experience. Throughout the years, I've tried so many medications, but nothing worked. Now I'm 18. After 3-4 years of having zits on my nose continuously, Ziana is working with me, and now my nose is how I wanted it to be. Thank you, Ziana, and thanks to my dermatologist."

Clindamycin / tretinoin topical "I have been using this for about a month and a half. It dries my skin out and I need to moisturize about 5 times a day opposed to twice. My face will get clear and then break out again. I'm still waiting on results."

Clindamycin / tretinoin topical "Ziana is a great product. I have used it for 4 years. After years of suffering with adult acne and trying various dermatologists and products, nothing helped! A friend referred me to her dermatologist. I was prescribed Ziana and OTC cleanser CeraVe. Due to the cost, I almost didn't buy it. The pharmacist gave me a pep talk, and I purchased it. Oh, I am glad I did! I returned to the dermatologist for a 6-week follow-up. I was overjoyed with the results, my face had completely cleared. The only thing we didn't do was take pictures before. I had no redness or worsening breakouts. I still use it for maintenance. A life changer, and I highly recommend it to you. Insurance didn't cover all of the cost, but it was worth it. I thanked my pharmacist too."

Clindamycin / tretinoin topical "I have suffered from cystic acne on my face and back since I was 16 (I'm now 27). I was on birth control Diane for 10 years that helped with the embarrassing acne, but I wanted to go off of synthetic hormones. My acne came back with a vengeance when the birth control was out of my system (about 5 months later), and I was at a loss. My derm recommended a regimen of applying Ziana gel at night and Acanya in the mornings and also wanted to put me on antibiotics. I never took the Solodyn because I only like to take antibiotics in extreme cases to be kind to my gut. It took 3-4 months for the acne to clear up and the dark spots to disappear, but it is 100% gone! Not a single breakout. Be patient, it's worth it!"

Clindamycin / tretinoin topical "I used Veltin about a year or two ago, but stopped after about 8 months due to pharmacy switches and such. I remember that even then, this really helped my acne clear up and my skin look much healthier. I’ve struggled with acne and minor breakouts over the last few years, and it’s most likely due to hormonal reasons since I’m still in my teenage years! I was able to resume using Veltin about a month or two ago, thank goodness! Now, my skin looks so healthy. I’ve also been using Aczone over the past two years, which definitely helps control my breakouts, but when I re-added Veltin, my skin has completely cleared up. I don’t think I’ve seen my skin look this healthy and clear in months!! It will dry out your skin though, but my dermatologist recommended using a CeraVe moisturizer, which has seriously helped with preventing dryness and flakiness. I love this medication so much though; it really had worked wonders for my skin!"

"After reading all the reviews, I'm very unsure what to do. I was prescribed Treclin by my doctor. I've been using the gel for 6 days now, and my face has broken out so badly. Did it sting anyone else when putting the gel on? I feel as though my face is getting worse and not better. I don't know whether to go to my doctor or to stick it out and hope for the best...."

Clindamycin / tretinoin topical "When my daughter started off using Veltin, she had very bad acne, and it seemed like she was getting an allergic reaction from a retinoid in another product. She used so many products, and we were so sure this wasn’t going to work, but the dermatologist recommended using Veltin and applying small amounts all over the face before going to bed. After about a week of using Veltin, her acne was gone, and she had blemishes left. Then, after about a month, her face was clear. It has been 6 months, and she’s still using it to prevent future acne, and the results are amazing!"

Clindamycin / tretinoin topical "I promised myself that I would write a review if the product worked, and here I am! I’ve been using it for 2 years, and my skin has cleared. When I first used it (3 months), I didn’t see any improvement. One thing I realized is to minimize the amount of products (i.e., toner, essences) used when using Biacna. Simply use a moisturizer/lotion. I recommend a really thick moisturizer because your skin tends to dry a lot (coming from a person with a very oily face). Don’t give up using this product, and hope for the best for all!"

Clindamycin / tretinoin topical "I originally had mild pustular acne. I used Veltin for 5 weeks before giving up. My face became red, weeping, stinging, and covered in cystic acne while using it. I used it once a night as prescribed and would use Cetaphil lotion on my face morning and night to try to hydrate my skin. It got to the point where I did not want to go to work because of comments. Just putting water on my face made me cry. Within 2 weeks of stopping, my acne is back to mild and my face is healing with 2 scars from where it was peeling and weeping."

Clindamycin / tretinoin topical "I was continually breaking out, big ones, small ones, and everything in between. The first night I used the Veltin gel, I woke up with clearer skin and only one blemish. The second night, same results the following morning. Now, after four nights of using it, my skin looks great, no pimples at all, my pores are smaller and cleaner...it's the skin I've always wished I had. I did take a break from using it last night because I noticed some dryness starting, but so far everything's still fine. I love it!"

"This product saved me! I've always had perfect skin growing up. Right in the middle of senior year, my face broke out into awful acne. Two years later, at 20 years old, after trying every product out there, my dermatologist got me to try one last thing, which was Biacna! I put on a thick layer before going to bed, and as soon as I woke up, my face was very red, but all the zits on my face were 80% smaller, if not completely gone! My face is basically 90% cleared after three months of use (three to four times a week). Now all I need to worry about are all the scars! I feel so good to not need to put on a pound of makeup every day and to actually be confident again! If you suffer from acne, THIS PRODUCT WILL CHANGE YOUR LIFE! Please give it a try!!!"

Clindamycin / tretinoin topical "When I first started using Ziana, I only had acne in between my eyebrows, chin, and the nose area. My acne worsened while using it, and then it got better. But after about 4 months of using it, it became ineffective. So I now have acne between my eyebrows, chin, cheeks, forehead, and the nose area. It's great at first, but after a while, it made my face even worse than before I used the product."

Clindamycin / tretinoin topical "I'm a Black woman who has mild acne (closed comedones on forehead and cheekbones), oily/combo skin, prone to post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. I began using Biacna (equivalent to Ziana) regularly in November or December of 2016, once a day at night, making sure to apply at least SPF 40 every morning. It is now May of 2017, 5 months later, and my mild acne has spread all over my face - my forehead, all of my cheeks, and my chin are regularly covered in tiny bumps, and when those resolve, they are replaced with more tiny bumps. I think it is safe to say that this product is not working for me, since my acne has only gotten steadily worse over time, with no improvement. I will use this product for one more month."

"I found this gel great, within a few days, I saw results. My skin looked a lot calmer, and pores looked better. However, it is very drying and makes my skin peel (on my chin), but moisturizing often does reduce the amount of peeling and means that my face doesn’t hurt. I moisturize in the morning, midday, and about an hour after I’ve applied the gel. I only get the occasional peeling (but this could also be due to the harsh winter weather drying out my skin). I’ve noticed, and my family and friends have said that they have noticed, a huge improvement in my skin. It’s also evened out the texture slightly to reduce indentations in my skin caused by acne."

Clindamycin / tretinoin topical "I'm a teenager with moderate acne, and I used this product in conjunction with 50 mg of doxycycline twice daily for two months. All I can say is neither of these products helped my skin at all, and I'll say that they probably made my skin worse. The first two weeks on these products, my skin did nothing, got neither worse nor better, but by week 3 my face exploded with acne in places I usually don't even get acne, and for the rest of the two months my skin got no better after that breakout. I even went dairy-free in order to hopefully reap the best results from this product, but it didn't work out either way."

"I used Biacna gel for 5 months and did not find it to be very effective. I made sure to use it properly and was always consistent. I'm glad to see others who have had plenty of success with this product share their thoughts. Keep in mind that this gel is not for everyone and try not to lose hope like I did if it fails to work. Keep your head up, I know how tough it can be to go through medium to severe acne, but I promise it does get better with time. Be patient and follow your prescriptions. I have now switched to Tactu Pump, which has given me great results. I guess my skin just likes Benzoyl Peroxide better, lol. Thanks for reading my review, and I wish you all the best in life!"

"I'm 29 years old, doctor prescribed me Treclin, which is clindamycin & tretinoin gel, for my adult acne. My acne was mostly on my chin & jaw area. The first few weeks were horrendous, I broke out on my forehead, my temples, my cheeks. I wanted to give up, but he told me to use it every single night for at least 12 weeks to see a difference. It's been almost 4 months now, and I'm still breaking out - not as badly, but every week I seem to have one or two really sore cystic spots. The scarring from old acne has improved (texture & color), but what's the point in using an acne prevention gel if it's going to leave new scarring behind? I'm conflicted on what to do next. Nothing seems to be helping fully!"

Clindamycin / tretinoin topical "Before this, I used to have so many little bumps on my forehead as well as acne. Then I started using all these products recommended, which made it worse. Later, after going to my dermatologist, which recommended me Biacna (Canadian version of Ziana). After about a week of using it, the purge was crazy! It got so much worse, but my dermatologist said it’s normal and to keep patient. Now it’s my two weeks, and all my acne and bumps are gone now, and it’s just marks I have to deal with! Good luck everyone, and be patient, the results are astonishing!"

"I am 18 years old and started to get occasional deep under-the-skin pimples, as well as tiny bumps around my face. I have been using this stuff for about 3 1/2 months now, and I am so glad I stuck with it. In the beginning, I wanted to give up, it was awful. Your skin is super dry and peeling and burns occasionally, but you have to wait it out! I have never been so confident with my skin, and once I hit that 3-ish month mark, my skin has only been getting better. Don't give up, this stuff really works!!"

Clindamycin / tretinoin topical "I had a sudden outbreak of what the derm called adult acne. It came back after it was almost better two weeks later, and I went to the Dr. He prescribed Ziana, which I use at night, and my face not only got 100% better with 0 blemishes, but it has not broken out again since. It does make me wake up very oily, but once I wash my face and apply makeup, I don't have that issue throughout the day. I didn't experience any redness or drying. Great product for me!"

"I had very clear skin until I was 17. I have been suffering from acne since then in the year 2012. Been on antibiotics, tried benzoyl peroxide, none of the prescribed medications worked. I got so depressed, I would avoid family or friends because I did not want them to see the state of my skin. This year I said I need to get my skin clear by all means. Went to the dermatologist and got prescribed this gel! Life saver! Have not had a spot since I have used it and that is 2 months so far. Alongside this gel, I went for microneedling at my local beauty spa to get rid of acne scarring, they recommend a course of 3 to 5. I am on my third one and all scars have disappeared already. I might say, though, my acne was very mild and scarring was very little. Hope you find something that works for you :)"

"For those reading these comments and being freaked out, don't worry, I did the same, just know this stuff works. You have to be patient with this medicine! I started it about a year ago, and I think it took a total of 4-5 months until I was absolutely free of acne. Ever since that 'it has to get worse before it gets better' stage, I think at most I've had 2 pimples on my face at once. This medicine is amazing, and it does have side effects like when your skin is in the sun, it is more likely to peel, and the dryness, but I definitely think the pros outweigh the cons. If you are hesitant about this, I definitely recommend it-just remember to be patient!"

"I am 29 years old, and since my early twenties, my acne continued to get worse and worse. I visited a dermatologist in Sept. 2017, and she told me that I have moderate acne. She prescribed me Biacna topical gel (applied once per day before bed). My skin responded really well! I did not even have the 'get worse before it gets better' stage. I used to have very deep, painful cystic acne all over my cheeks/chin. Now I rarely have more than one or two pimples at a time. And when I do get a pimple, it's small and goes away quickly. *Be sure to use very mild cleansers and moisturizers while using this treatment. I made the mistake of using another product at the same time, and my skin got really red and flaky for a couple of days."

Clindamycin / tretinoin topical "I have been using Veltin for about two months now. It works. I use a scrub every morning, moisturizer, then at night I wash with a foaming wash better than previous acne washes I've been using-then the Veltin. Wait an hour and then my moisturizer. Great routine. I got the flu and had to stop my routine because I was too sick and tired, acne returned worse after 2 days. Back on my routine and it is getting better."
