"My first colonoscopy. Easy-to-read bullet points: - Not nearly as bad as I expected it to be. - Taste is very sweet: not terrible. The two servings are easy to get thru. - I have emetophobia (scared of vomiting) so I took a Dramamine 1 hour before each dose. I think this (+ staying hydrated) helped. - Didn’t bother leaving the toilet for 3 hours both doses. The first bowel movements started about 1 hour after the 1st dose, sooner after the 2nd. Was up a few times thru the night too. - Mild nausea after the first dose, it went away. Bad bloating after both doses, mostly went away after BMs started. Mild off and on headache. - Worst side effect by far is the booty pain. Two words: Liquid fire. Not even aloe wipes stood up to the raw pain, but they helped a little. - I put a step stool in front of the toilet to use as a Squatty Potty and it helped a lot, highly recommend. 8/10: Overall easy process, about as pleasant as possible, but the taste isn’t great and the few side effects weren’t fun."

"the prep was administered as directed. the cleanse was inadequate. I had to have 2 enemas prior to procedure because I did not feel as though I was adequately prepped. Even so, the capable Doctor was unable to get an adequate read and I have been instructed to return in one year. Choose an alternate prep kit so you do not miss a day of work and burden the medical community with a failed procedure. No-one wants this."

"Followed the directions to a tee, went without food for three days, went to have colonoscopy have to go back because my bowels weren't clean enough. Told by doctor that because I am diabetic some feces stuck to my colon. I was having movements of pure water that morning This isn't my first rodeo, have uses Mirialax and ducolax for $30 for past colonoscopies with a one day purge with no problem. Of all of the cleansing agents available it is by far the most expensive at $157 now I have to go without eating for another day which will make it 84 hrs ,doc gave me a bottle of some other cleansing agent which actually worked. This product is nothing more than a big pharma money maker, I wouldn't doubt that those that prescribe it are getting kickbacks in the form of paid for vacations or some other form of payment (as well having to repeat procedure)"

"First of all this prep is full of artificial sweeteners. I actually have a sensitivity to those as many do, and evacuate them quickly. I had all clear liquids the day before as directed. The first bottle worked in 45 minutes and then I spent every hour in the bathroom spilling liquid from my behind. Pretty sure I was prepped for the next days procedure by 10 pm. I could see through the toilet water. I drank my 5 cups of water right away. Had an EGD scheduled along with the colonoscopy so I knew I couldn’t have anything to eat or drink past about 5 am. Reluctantly, drank the second bottle around midnight. Set an alarm to get up and drink water. Had to use A&D ointment on my bottom before 9pm...Taste was awful. Salty and horrible artificial sweetener mix with absent cranberry. But the up side was the small dose. Would definitely recommend having both doses though before midnight to be all done with movements pre- procedure."

"Paid $90 with insurance for Clenpiq. Tastes like chemicals, so foul, nasty and vile. Managed to drink the bottle at 5 pm (took 30 min to get it down). Felt nauseous trying to drink it. Drank the recommended water after. Had to do 2nd bottle at 10 pm with more water. Felt nauseous all night. You can only drink liquids so you have to drink this horrible concoction on an empty stomach. I never want to go through a bowel prep again. Thank God the bottles are small. I would rather have enemas, just saying..."

"Well, I shouldn't have read some of the reviews. I think it was the best Prep. Wasn't bad at all. Took the first prep at 6 pm and it started working an hour later and I wasn't up all night. The second prep was at 5:30 am. Everything went fine and I had my colonoscopy at 10.20 am. Don't be afraid to take this."

"By FAR the best prep I’ve ever used. I will no longer dread the colonoscopy prep process. Taste isn’t great but MUCH better than the others in my opinion, plus it’s such a small amount that you can suck it down pretty quickly. No stomach cramping at all, and it cleaned me out completely. Doctor gave me free sample, so I can’t comment on cost."

"Clenpiq was definately not a good prep for a colonoscopy. Took as directed, followed the instructions which were simple. Was not properly cleansed for my procedure in which I had to be administered an enema to further clear my bowels. Will not take again in the future."

"I used Clenpiq for the first time. At first, I believed it cleaned me out. I drank one bottle at 5:00 PM, followed by 40 ounces of water over 4 hours. I repeated with a second bottle at 9:00 PM, followed by an additional 40 ounces of water until 1:00 AM. I was up until 4:00 AM having bowel movements. At 11:00 AM, I underwent my 4th colonoscopy. When I awoke, the nurse told me the doctor/surgeon was not happy with me because I did not prep properly. I did! He talked to me an hour later and said he couldn’t do a complete colonoscopy because of dark stool. I told him that this was a first for me and that I did everything as per the Clenpiq instructions and his. I drank more water than the instructions called for, which my doctor/surgeon advised me to. I am embarrassed and humiliated. I decided to do some homework and found out this can happen with any prep kit. I will never use Clenpiq again or go back to the doctor who performed the colonoscopy."

"I followed all of the instructions for the prep to the tee, but it did not work for me. I drank the first bottle at 8:30pm and did not have a bowel movement the entire night. I had more than the recommended amount of liquid after the prep. I drank the second bottle 5 hours before my procedure and it worked, but I don't think well enough to have the procedure. I am going to cancel my colonoscopy because I am nowhere near being cleaned out. I dread having to go through this again."

"This was my second colonoscopy. My first one I had no problems at all . This time I took CLENOIQ, and it has been a terrible experience. Other than the fact that it did cleanse me out, there is nothing else positive about this product. I took the first bottle at 3:30PM. The taste is absolutely putrid and lingers. But that is not the worst part of it. It started working about 2 hours after first dose, I also started having chills. Another couple hours later I was having very watery bowels, then nothing for an hour or so, so I went to bed. I woke up twice in the middle of the night in a puddle of water poop. Had to change and shower. After the second shower, I passed out. Thank goodness my husband was there. I felt terrible, lightheaded, nauseous, heart racing. As directed I took the second dose at 9am. For hours after the colonoscopy bad cramps. Had loose stools for 2 days and still feel "off" over a week later. This stuff was toxic to my body. NEVER AGAIN!!!"

"This is my 3rd colonoscopy due to my diagnosis of Ulcerative Proctitis. I have used a different prep for all 3. I did not enjoy the other preps either, but the temporary discomfort is not hard to rationalize through. The process and method are just means to an end. I chose the split dose method, just to ensure that there would be plenty of time to make sure I was completely clean. Took the first dose at 3:45pm and the second at 9:00pm. Long story short, I had a miserable night NOT pooping, and had to make multiple calls to the GI's office, and multiple trips to the pharmacy, to get additional laxitives. So by 11:00am the next day, after having used the entire prep per manufacturers instructions, a gallon of water, 2 Dulcolax suppositories, and 1 1/2 bottles of Mag Citrate, I was "clean enough" to perform the procedure. Ridiculous. Never again."

"Clenpiq is a cranberry flavored liquid that you drink directly from the bottle. It is very sickeningly sweet and viscous and I kept having to drink water in between as a chaser. Within an hour I started pooping, which was fine. Then after 4 hours I started getting chills, then felt hot, then felt like I was going to pass out! Knowing that I would have to take another 5 oz dose at 11PM didn't help. I stared at the bottle at 11:05 PM and took a few swallows of Clenpiq then immediately started vomiting white foam. My husband kept encouraging me to finish the bottle so that I would be cleaned out. I tried a few more swallows and again started vomiting. There was no way that I would be able to drink that second bottle! In my case, I think that one bottle was sufficient for me because I had been going to the bathroom quite often and Clenpiq was very potent for my system. I'm not sure that I will ever undergo another colonoscopy because the prepping process is a terrible experience!"

"Super easy prep. First dose in early AM made me a little queasy but it passed. No cramping. Second dose no problem. Taste was fine and quantity was small enough to drink quickly. Hydrating is very important."

"Omg, the best bowl prep ever! I have used every prep out there and this is the best. I did not taste any flavor, although it was supposed to be cranberry. I get colonoscopies yearly and have to psych myself up to drink a gallon of disgusting prep. I drank the bottle straight then drank 40oz of water after. Then repeated for the second round. Drinking 8oz's of prep with no flavor is so much better than trying to drink down a gallon of nasty prep, which I usually throw up. Clenpiq stayed down, no gagging or throwing up. The only problem I had was a terrible headache which lasted until after my procedure. Thank you Clenpiq!"

"I'm 58. Had my second colonoscopy yesterday. First one was seven years ago. Clenpiq did what it was supposed to do. Was it a pleasant experience? No, but it's not supposed to be. Although the instructions say to dilute the liquid, the instructions from my doctor were to drink it straight from the bottle and then follow it up with lots of clear liquid. The solution itself tastes pretty nasty. Like cherry syrup, only much worse. I suspect that it would be difficult to make something like this taste good. Even though I only managed to down half of the second dose, I was cleaned out very well. Overall, the drug did what it was supposed to do and I didn't get nauseous so I'd say that it turned out pretty well."

"Horrible prep - would give it a zero if possible, didn't work well with me at all. It took about 1-2 hours before any movement, didn't clean very well. Had to start 2nd bottle a few hours after first. I drank lots of water with both bottles but felt like I was pooing shards of glass and crying most of the night - (Ouchy, Ouchy) - day 2 and I still can barely go without crying. I also passed out/fainted when taking this medicine and woke up with a rash on my stomach. I would say stay far, far away from this medication."

"Tastes like sweet and salty chalk but I didn't mind. I am on 2nd bottle now. Tons of water and clear pedialyte so I have zero dehydration, no headaches or anything, no cramps, no nausea. Worried a bit because I only have a small amount of bowel movements that were just liquid and now nothing. That's it? Did it work? I go in for the colonoscopy in about 3 hours. I am up all night feeling like I gotta go but then don't. So we will see"

"Tasted fine, but failed to provide sufficient colon cleaning. Despite following the preparation guidelines fully, starting two hours early and drinking more than double the amount of water recommended, the Boston Bowel Prep Score was 1 out of 9."

"If you're reading this, chances are your doctor prescribed Clenpiq. I recently had a colonoscopy & the doctor had me use the Clenpiq. It's not cheap & insurance doesn't seem to cover it. I believe the price is roughly $150 & they gave it to me for $50. Hated it, but I trusted my doctor. On prep day I had black coffee & then water for breakfast. For lunch green "yuck" jello. Then back to water & diet 7up. At 3pm I slowly drank the first bottle. Nothing happened. After about two hours, "thar she blows!!" As an aside, have a tablet or laptop ready to watch movies or shows or whatever your choice. Back to the fun. I continued this pace the rest of the night. I got maybe a couple of hours sleep. Then 4 hours before the procedure, I drank bottle two. More bathroom time, but not nearly that much. I was done & had the procedure. Doctor said I was totally clean which is good because if you're not, you'll have to do it again. So a big thumbs up to Clenpiq. It worked for me."

"Awful experience. After drinking the first bottle, I vomited within 20 mins nonstop until it was completely out of my system. I did not have a bowel movement. I was nauseous and felt awful the rest of the night. I tried again in the morning, this time drinking it slowly, but vomited it up. Clenpiq is expensive and not worth it. If I had taken it earlier instead of 6pm, maybe I would have had enough time to recuperate to switch to MiraLax. Ugh, such a bummer to have to reschedule and go through the prep again. I wish I read reviews on it before taking it."

"This was not my first colonoscopy, but my first time using Clenpiq. I followed a low-fiber, low-residue diet 2 days before prep. On prep day, I had fluids only. My first dose (split dose) was at 5 pm. I used a straw to drink straight from the bottle. It was not that bad. (Suprep, was much worse and a larger quantity to consume). Then, I had to drink 40 oz. of liquid over a period of 5 hours. Very easy for me to do; I was done in 2.5 hrs. I had no ill effects after taking the Clenpiq, no headache, no chills, no nausea (I had all of these with Suprep.) Clenpiq began "working" in about 30 minutes. I was in and out of the bathroom 4 to 5 times between 5:30 pm and 9 pm. Tips: do use A&D ointment and wet wipes. Also, if you have hemorrhoids, use Witch Hazel or Tucks. I was "done" by 11:00. Slept till 2 am and had my second dose at 2:30 am (basically a repeat). No issues with my colonoscopy. Two small polyps were removed. U don't have to do this again for 5 years. Hope this review is helpful!"

"It was the easiest prep I have tried. I used a straw to drink the first bottle as well as the second. I started at 1:00 and second bottle at 6:00. Slept through the night with no disturbances. Doc said I was totally cleaned out. I drank 50 ounces of liquids. Jello as well. Keep drinking white apple white cranberry and lemon jello"

"Not thrilled. I started off with two days of a low residue diet, then started the liquid diet (mainly watered down bone broth, Gatorade and Jello) 24 hours before my colonoscopy. I drank the first Clenpiq bottle at 5 pm as my doctor recommended. The first bottle tasted ok, not great but tolerable. I drank five cups of clear liquid after. No bloating or pain, just some liquidy BMs. Then I drank the second bottle at 9 pm plus four cups of liquid. From about 10 until 4 am I was up every 30-60 minutes to go to the bathroom. At 4 am my BMs still were fairly dark and my colon was not clear. I fell asleep until 6, then had to go to the store to buy two boxes of Fleet enemas and figure out how to use them. I wasn’t sure the first one did the trick so I used the second one. After that it was clear. My procedure that morning went well and the doctor said if I hadn’t used the enemas they would not have been able to do the colonoscopy. I hope there are better preps on the market!"

"Not bad at all. The taste is okay. I would really recommend using a straw and washing your mouth out after drinking because it does have a lingering taste. I drank the required clear liquid for both parts within an hour of drinking the prep, and it started working 30 minutes later. What comes out is pretty much water. I had no rush to go to the bathroom and was able to sleep through the night between preps."
