Ciprofloxacin / dexamethasone otic for Middle Ear Infections "I don't know why people have such bad experiences with this, but as a student, I will say it's so, so good. I was so scared with my terrible ear infection, and now it is so much better just in 4 days. I would recommend this to those who have a bad ear infection, but it must be prescribed by your doctor."

For Otitis Externa "I have chronic ear infections, ever since I was a baby, and I’ve never had tubes or anything, so I’m used to ear pain. However, at 21 years old, I just got my first outer ear infection and was given these drops. I was better off before these drops, honestly, it was so painful, and I'm hearing that a lot reading these reviews. I’m glad it wasn’t just me. My ear swelled up insanely, super bright red and getting purple, and I couldn’t talk. It caused my entire left side to be in excruciating pain, including my neck. Who knows, something like that could’ve been a reaction too. On the 3rd day, I finally went and got something else that worked within the first 24 hours, thankfully!"

Ciprofloxacin / dexamethasone otic for Otitis Externa "I’ve had ear issues my entire life. From grommets at 5 years old to heavily infected ears at 35. Apparently, my ear canals grew differently, causing my ears not to disperse wax like any normal ear. Therefore, my ears get clogged up continuously, causing infections. These drops really work for me. I don’t experience any pain or anything. Other than my ears just being sensitive when putting the drops in due to it being cold. Other than that, these are quite good."

For Otitis Externa "I have had an ear issue for over 6 months now. I have been on Ciprodex for just as long. Even an oral antibiotic several weeks back did not help. The pain is freaking intense. No infection, well, at least no discharge. No excess earwax. Just a red-hot eardrum. Just pain. The Ciprodex works well for that, better than Tylenol and/or ibuprofen. Makes my ear itchy, though. CT scan was normal. Waiting for a referral to an ear specialist. Not hopeful. If these doctors can't figure out an ear issue, I count my lucky stars that is my only issue!"

Ciprofloxacin / dexamethasone otic for Otitis Externa "I’ve been taking Ciprodex for 48 hours now, and I have constant tinnitus. The swelling or pain hasn’t really improved. If it’s not improved by tomorrow, I’ll go back to the doctor. I live in Canada and paid 0.57 cents with insurance. Even without insurance, I doubt it would be very expensive."

Ciprofloxacin / dexamethasone otic for Otitis Externa "The cost was expensive at $38.90 in Australia! No rebate. 2 drops x 5 days into my left ear. It made my hearing worse. After 5 days, I have constant ringing in my left ear. I wouldn't recommend Ciprodex ear drops for anyone! I went to the doctor after 2 days and told her it was worse, and she claims the inflammation was gone, keep using it!"

Ciprofloxacin / dexamethasone otic for Otitis Externa "My son, while at his mother's, put a plastic bead for making jewelry in his ear. They didn't have tools at the ER, and we needed a follow-up with an ENT doctor to get it out. To prevent any type of infection, they gave us Ciprodex and Antipyrine-Benzocaine. For Ciprodex alone, a 7-day supply, they billed the insurance company $203.08. Of that, a 7-day supply cost me $17 out of pocket. Thank you, insurance, for paying the rest."

For Otitis Externa "After reading the reviews, I was sort of anxious, however, I am on my fifth day of taking the prescription, and I am feeling near, if not 100%, back to normal. I did not feel any of the pain when taking the drops, as others claim. The only reason I gave it an 8 instead of 10 is because one of my ears became clogged after taking the first day's dosages. After 4 days, my ear became unclogged, and I regained most of my hearing. The pain subsided after 3 days of beginning the medicine. I strongly recommend this medication for those who have swimmer's ear. If you have good insurance, you won’t have to pay much. I only paid about $12."

Ciprofloxacin / dexamethasone otic for Otitis Externa "Without my insurance covering Ciprodex, I just paid $230 for 1/3 an ounce at the pharmacy. I have never had an ear infection but recently got a super nasty one from the ocean water in Puerto Rico. I've been on Ciprodex for two days, and it has helped, or was it the cephalexin and amoxicillin?"

For Middle Ear Infections "Omg! This stuff is miraculous. The first few drops stung a little but was bearable. The ER doctor prescribed this 4 drops 2x a day for 7 days. As soon as I put the first 4 drops in, I felt instant relief. I see that I must have gotten a bargain as far as the price. I don't have insurance and paid $86.00. Just make sure to finish it all. I will very enthusiastically give this miracle drug a 10 out of 10. I loved this stuff."

Also using in the left ear for crystallized wax buildup, and that ear has a tube. Is there not something else? Plus, I'm taking ciprofloxacin by mouth."

Ciprofloxacin / dexamethasone otic for Otitis Externa "This antibiotic works by cutting up the DNA of the bacterium so (eventually) it can't grow its rotten little colonies. There's also a steroid added to reduce inflammation. It won't directly kill the existing bacteria."

For Otitis Externa "Took this for a mild swimmer's ear infection. After I started taking drops, I felt ear pain. Then, as I continued, intense pain and swelling in my ear and jaw. By the second day, it felt like someone punched me in the ear and hurt my jaw. Finally stopped and took neomycin drops instead. Pain and swelling subsided. Ear is healing. Worst experience with ear drops ever."

Ciprofloxacin / dexamethasone otic for Middle Ear Infections "On day four, I stopped sleeping, started having night sweats, bugs crawling on my skin, slurred speech, very high HR. Unfortunately, I couldn't believe that it was ear drops, and so I continued taking them for another 8 years, by which time I totally deteriorated. Since stopping it a month ago, I still have insomnia, high HR, terrible tinnitus, painful muscles, fatigue, panic attacks, etc. I have since found out I was 'floxed' and that the damage to my CNS might even be permanent. Please look for alternatives and NEVER allow this near your child!!"

For Otitis Externa "It took 3 days for improvement, and in 5 days my ear canal was back to normal. The 6th day I could hear perfectly out of the right ear. So, I say it worked great. Be patient."
