Librax (chlordiazepoxide / clidinium) for Irritable Bowel Syndrome "Recently started treatment for Irritable Bowel Syndrome. The Doctor is indeed highly experienced. On medication thrice daily since 2 weeks now. Only issue is drowsiness, don't feel like getting up from bed, even feel like sleeping during day time, only physical activity then can keep me awake but still drowsiness lingers on."

Librax (chlordiazepoxide / clidinium) for Irritable Bowel Syndrome "I too had not eaten in almost a year. Bentyl was painful and other medicines made me ill. Librax saved my life. I lost 50lbs and I was not heavy. My problem now is extreme stress keeps me on this medicine. When I can find work or sell house When I am not about to lose everything I hope to get off Librax and Ativan."

Librax (chlordiazepoxide / clidinium) for Irritable Bowel Syndrome "I also have Crohn's and ulcerative colitis. I was started on Librax upon getting my initial diagnosis, took it for several weeks and kept telling everyone how "I've never felt better in my life" and then one day on the way to work I nearly fell asleep behind the wheel of my car on the drive into work. There is a chemical in chlordiazepoxide that has a half-life of over 400 hours, so the 'benzo' part of this medicine can build up pretty quickly. I stopped the medication for awhile and have since gone back on it without any of the previously mentioned problems, but I did cut my dose down from 1 pill every 8 hours to 1 pill every 10-12.....so only 2 pills a day instead of 3. I still get the relief I need, but do not get drowsy at all."

Librax (chlordiazepoxide / clidinium) for Irritable Bowel Syndrome "I have Crohns Disease and irritable bowel syndrome. I have been through a lot getting all this under control. I have been on Librax for about a week and the pain after eating has almost gone away completely. Although I'm very tired and kind of out of it but I am hoping those side effects go away very soon."

Librax (chlordiazepoxide / clidinium) for Irritable Bowel Syndrome "The generic of Librax is available but only 1 manufacturer is making it so it’s hard to find & expensive. My insurance won’t pay for it now even tho I’ve been taking it for years & 2 years ago they paid for it. It’s ridiculous the FDA took the brand Librax off the market! It’s the only thing that works for my IBS diarrhea, no other med compares. I paid $240 for 90 day supply using a discount card. Please don’t get rid of this drug!!"

Librax (chlordiazepoxide / clidinium) for Irritable Bowel Syndrome "I've dealt with IBS for over a decade. I have tried diet changes, fiber, and pretty much every other IBS medication available. This is the only drug that gives me my life back. It stops the painful spasms and diarrhea. Unfortunately, even though this is an older, generic medication, someone bought the rights to it and the price has been climbing for years. My insurance quit covering it, and a month supply can easily exceed several hundred dollars. Lately, I've had trouble finding Librax, with pharmacies telling me there is only one manufacturer and they are not currently making it. I seriously hope they don't permanently stop making this drug. It is a lifesaver."

Librax (chlordiazepoxide / clidinium) for Irritable Bowel Syndrome "Sell your soul. This is the hands down best medicine for IBS; it is perfect, for the first few months. As soon as the tolerance to the Librium catches up to you then you get the bill, google librax withdrawal. Withdrawing from a benzodiazepine is pure hell, (I am in it) If you must do it go for two weeks to get relief and then stop."

Librax (chlordiazepoxide / clidinium) for Enterocolitis "I have had stomach cramps that caused me to pass out from pain when I was around 14 years old. Tried a few different meds without success. Librium and Librax together worked perfectly for over 35 years, but now the doctor will not subscribe the two together as they contain a small amount of librium in the LIBRAX. I can't figure why they say 'do no harm' when this worked perfectly for a large portion of my life. I am now 72 and need to get back to what actually worked. Tried Hyoscamine. Not even similar to what works in my system. Why does the newer doctors not understand when this has been prescribed by other doctors and the results were just perfect ?"

Librax (chlordiazepoxide / clidinium) for Irritable Bowel Syndrome "I had Irritable bowel syndrome for about 7 or 8 years. Then I got pregnant back in 2007 and haven't had it since. In March of 2008 I had to have my gall bladder removed. About a month after that, I couldn't eat without getting sick. Sometimes it was so bad. I went to my doctor and he wanted me on the Librax (generic) and it's been a life saver. Even when I had IBS I couldn't eat the way I can now."

Librax (chlordiazepoxide / clidinium) for Irritable Bowel Syndrome "Recently diagnosed with IBS (D) after months of pain and significant weight loss 30+ llbs. Hyoscamine didn't help much, Librax does but the side effects for me are awful, after 2-3 days on it I develop severe headache which does not abate no matter what pain releif I use, if I continue to take it it then triggers days and days of cripplig migraines. So at the moment I take it on and off to keep the side effects down."

Librax (chlordiazepoxide / clidinium) for Irritable Bowel Syndrome "I have been taking generic Librax for about 9 years. It works up to a point, but is certainly not a cure for IBS. After eliminating nearly everything from my diet and taking Librax 4 times per day, I still have episodes where I cannot stop going to the bathroom. I have to turn to lamotil to stop the urge, even with the Librax. As someone mentioned, it has benzodiazepines in it which take some time to get used to, but after a couple of months you will only notice that your sense of balance is somewhat compromised. You should never stop taking Librax cold turkey. The withdrawal of the sedative is absolutely horrible. I tried to stop cold turkey once, and it was a terrible mistake. The drug is fairly effective at reducing the D."

Librax (chlordiazepoxide / clidinium) for Enterocolitis "I had to have my gall bladder removed in Dec. 2012 after two months of nausea and vomiting, pain and weight loss. Like one of the other reviewers said, I too became chronically ill again about a month after surgery and could barely eat and started dropping weight again. I also had chronic nausea and diarrhea. My doctor put me on Librax and it has changed my life. Within 48 hours after I started taking the medicine all of my symptoms disappeared and I started having real hunger pangs again and have been able to eat. Still can't eat whatever I want and have to monitor my fat intake. I only take the medicine at dinner time and occasionally I need one during the day. It has worked wonders at helping my body recover from the surgery."

Librax (chlordiazepoxide / clidinium) for Irritable Bowel Syndrome "I have had IBS for 29 yrs. Started after the birth of my 1st child. I have been prescribed Librax for the past 15 years. It is definitely a life saver. I only take it when needed, and it works within 30 min. I will say I have been in public COUNTLESS times and had a traumatic “blow out!” Probably should take it daily. As far as cost, my insurance covered it in the past, but today I start Medicare... One prescription last me a long time, thank goodness!"

Librax (chlordiazepoxide / clidinium) for Enterocolitis "It works! That's why INSURANCE WON'T PAY! Shame on them! I took this medication when it first came out in 1966 and I was 8 years old. Don't know why it was stopped but suffered all my life with gastric issues. I am now 63 years old and I can tell you this medication, LIBRAX, is the only medication that works."

Librax (chlordiazepoxide / clidinium) for Enterocolitis "Yes I agree like the other reviews say, it works and very well. So now I order it from overseas, very cheap, and get it within a week. The newer doctors are pushed by pharmaceutical companies to prescribe the new medicines and in turn they get bonuses and other things. The sad truth is it's more about making money that real healthcare anymore."

For Irritable Bowel Syndrome "I've been taking this med for, a spastic colon and to prevent spastic colitis attacks for the past 25 years . It does a great job at controlling my spastic colon . Recently it has been hard for me to get due to the fact my insurance went from $35.00 for a 3 month supply of 3 times a day . Now all the sudden starting in January it went to over $1000.00 for my meds . SMH I don't understand how a med that is as old as librax or generic is now unaffordable now and now I'm back to facing the bowel movement about 10 times a day because the price suddenly sky rocketed . I wish someone could explain how this can be reality of a generic drug of todays standard of pharmacology world . No other med has ever worked as well for me .SMH feeling so frustrated ."

Librax (chlordiazepoxide / clidinium) for Irritable Bowel Syndrome "Librax is one one the only two medications that have ever worked for alleviating symptoms of my IBS mixed. The other is Lomotil. Due to opioid problems that some nit-wits have, I was taken off Librax and first put on Levin, which does nothing at all to help and then Bentyl, which isn't much better than Levin. I want put back on Librax and Lomitil which work because I'm pretty dang miserable without them"

Librax (chlordiazepoxide / clidinium) "I am 63 and librax was approved by the FDA in 1966. I was 11 at the time. I had severe abdominal cramping at the time which stopped me in my tracks. The doctor put me on the new drug. I did not know until now that it had benzodiazapine in it. I feel sad that I took it when I was so young and I do not think there were a lot of studies back then. I wonder now if the librax, for me, was the beginning of addiction in general. I will ever know and did not think of it until I was asked about my youth. I am very happy that it is available and works for many. Who will ever know."

Librax (chlordiazepoxide / clidinium) for Irritable Bowel Syndrome "Librax is a very powerful drug. Great deal of care should be practiced while taking it. I was on it for over a year. Now the doctor is tapering me off to put me on Bentyl. He told me that there were no withdrawal side effects. What a crock. I am experiencing brain zaps, loss of energy and appetite, stomach upset, and constipation. Hoping this goes away soon. All drugs have side effects regardless of what the doctor says. Be very careful if you take this drug."

Librax (chlordiazepoxide / clidinium) for Irritable Bowel Syndrome "I was suffering IBS for almost 8 years and didn't know what it is. I lost the quality of my life for years, having stomach pain, cramps, bloating, constipation followed by non continues diarrhea. I was desperate and hopeless, when one doctor prescribed me this medicine, it really changed my life. I felt like as if I have never gotten any stomach problems. This medicine is amazing. I can't find it now from where I live which is Cambodia, but wanna give a try one of these other medicine in the list. Hope they'll work like Librax worked for me. Thanks."
