Ceftriaxone for Urinary Tract Infection "Had a severe UTI that didn't respond to Macrobid or Ceftin. My doctor ordered a shot of Rocephin, this is a miracle drug! The horrible pain I've had for over a week was gone in a few hours. I would definitely recommend this and would take it again even though the injection was a little painful!"

Ceftriaxone for Pneumonia "Sick for 4 weeks, went to the doctor. Ear infection, sinus infection, and bronchitis prescriptions of Augmentin and Mucinex. Since 6 months earlier, I had pneumonia that took me out of work for short-term disability. When I heard the telltale 'rattling' on my left side 8 days later, I went back to the doctor. So after 5 weeks of coughing, sneezing, headaches, and overwhelming tiredness, I received a shot of this. I had not had a shot of anything for many years, and it did hurt. I am not a wimpy, owy person. It did hurt. It hurt for 45 minutes. But the next morning, I woke without coughing up a lung, rested, and feeling better than I had for a month. The second day (now), I am headed out to cut the grass after vacuuming the house. Yeah."

Ceftriaxone for Urinary Tract Infection "Given one shot of Rocephin (IM, dorsogluteal) for severe UTI. Shot a little painful, but experienced relief of abdominal discomfort within about 30 minutes. Some bruising, but definitely worth it for the quick relief."

Ceftriaxone for Pneumonia "I've been sick with what I thought was just a cold for the last 3 weeks, and finally my cough got so bad the other day that it hurt in my back every time I coughed or took a deep breath. I went to the urgent care clinic and found out I have walking pneumonia. They gave me a shot of Rocephin and Dexatron. It didn't even take 30 mins for it to begin working on my breathing and my lungs. I was already feeling halfway better when I left the doctor's office, and when I woke up today, I feel almost back to normal. With the exception of my right buttock being a little tender from the shots, and I have a little leg pain. I am so thankful for this shot. I have been in misery for the last 3 weeks, and it took less than 24 hours for this medicine to start healing."

Ceftriaxone for Urinary Tract Infection "This is my 3rd UTI in an annual year. One in Oct of 2019, May 2020, and Aug 2020. I woke up at 2 a.m. 2 days ago feeling that all-so-familiar feeling. By 1 p.m. Sunday, I headed to the ER. I started urinating blood, passing clots, and my pelvic area was killing me! A UTI causes INTENSE pain, I would birth my 4 children all over again! Doc did a phone call appointment (due to COVID) today, and he said I am perimenopausal at 38 years old :/. My estrogen is funky, so that could definitely be a culprit. I did have the Rocephin shot last night, but it's taking a bit longer to COMPLETELY go away versus the last 2 times. I am TERRIFIED of getting another UTI. My doc suggested a natural supplement called D-mannose. Anyone taking this? I have to order it, the drug store was out. Apparently, it's a preventative supplement for UTIs. All I know is that the pain of a UTI is forever traumatizing! The shot hurts, yes, but SO worth the relief. I would recommend it to anyone."

Ceftriaxone for Urinary Tract Infection "Tried posting this on my iPad yesterday and the day before, but it did not seem to post. I have been getting Rocephin injections for UTIs for about 10 years. Initially, after trying pill antibiotics over and over with little success, my OB recommended the shot. I am extremely needle-phobic and was very reluctant to agree to a shot in my butt, but convinced myself to suck it up. First, it is a little embarrassing to be bent over a table with a bare butt, next, the shot really hurts and burns. Your butt is sore for about 1 hour afterward. But it works. A few days ago, I had symptoms of a UTI and ignored them. My husband convinced me to stop being a baby and go get the shot! I finally gave in and saw my doctor. I received one Rocephin injection in my right cheek and a B12 shot in my other butt cheek. 5-6 hours later, I felt fine, although my bottom is still a little sore. I need to get over this fear of needles! Don't watch when they prepare it. But I would recommend this shot."

Ceftriaxone for Urinary Tract Infection "I am only putting this out here so it can help others that have been or are in my same situation. I was seen 4 days ago for what I thought was a UTI. It was extremely painful, and they prescribed me Bactrim, a 3-day supply. After taking 3 pills, I was getting worse. My doctor finally called me back and wanted me in right away. I had literally no control over my bladder. I was in excruciating pain and couldn't help but cry. The doctor told me I had tested positive for an STD as well as a UTI and I was on the wrong medication. I was given the Rocephin shot and prescribed another antibiotic. It is now day 2 since the shot, and I feel much better. I'm still in some pain, but I'm hoping it goes away soon!"

Ceftriaxone for Bacterial Infection "I've had a persistent UTI and been through 2 rounds of oral antibiotics, and it kept coming back despite having had a culture done to determine what would be effective. Once the pain got bad enough that the pyridium was no longer effective, I called the doctor and begged for help while still waiting for the second culture results. They gave me a shot of Rocephin. By morning, I felt 85% better. The second day, I still feel a twinge of symptoms here and there, but feel soooo much better. The shot hurts, yes. But it's not THAT bad, and there was lidocaine in my injection to help with that. Powerful stuff - so glad they gave it to me!"

Ceftriaxone for Bacterial Infection "My son had an infection and a virus at the same time. Had a fever of 104.02 at its highest for over ten days. One shot of this and within one day, he was almost completely his old self. It was painful to get the shot, but the results were well worth it."

Ceftriaxone for Bacterial Infection "Sore Throat Guy: About a week ago, I had a sore throat. I began taking two pills a day of Augmentin, which had always worked well for me, but not this time, and I had taken about 7 days of it. Yesterday, I returned to my family doctor because I began having a very bad earache. He decided to give me a shot of Rocephin. The nurse came in with the shot, and she told me that it was going to hurt. I told her I wanted it in my left hip. She again told me it was going to hurt, I told her. She said, 'Here we go,' and I saw when she inserted the needle, and I told her I didn't even feel it, she sorta laughed. Then she began injecting it, and I've had shots before, however, she was right. It hurt! Today, my pain is 99.9% gone. So, it worked great for me."

Ceftriaxone for Pneumonia "I'm a 16-year-old girl. I have had mono in the past. I recently was concerned about my right tonsil because it won't go down. Shortly after the doctor appointment, I got a cold, or so I thought, and it turned out I had walking pneumonia. It happens fast! I had a shot of Rocephin, and my right buttock has never been in such pain, but within 24 hours, my chest felt absolutely clear. I have had a little cough since and some leg and butt pain, otherwise, I'm so grateful for this medicine! ❤️"

For Gonococcal Infection, Uncomplicated "My boyfriend gave me gonorrhea. I went to get treatment and received an injection of Rocephin in my arm. I'm usually good with needles, but this was one of the most painful injections I've ever received in my life. Especially the second after they removed the needle. I felt like my soul came out of my body in agonizing pain! I started to have tremors, and the doctor kept asking me if I was okay, but I couldn't take the pain anymore. I didn't scream or anything, I held it down. I guess that's why it hurts so much more! I think if you get it in the butt, it will hurt less. But this stuff hurts, and I am not joking! Hoping it works. Stay safe, guys."

Ceftriaxone for Bacterial Infection "I’ve had this injection twice, once when I was pregnant for an ear infection/flu, and once today for a sinus infection, and it works so well!!!! Clears up a sinus infection within hours. This shot is HUGE and it hurts, but if your nurse injects it into you slowly, it won’t be too bad. I am terrified of these shots, but I begged for it today and was glad I got it."

Ceftriaxone for Middle Ear Infections "I had a shot of Rocephin 1g in my (R) gluteus 1 week and 1 day ago. The pain upon injection was a 5.5 on a scale of 10. It is a big shot, and it takes several seconds to administer. This was to treat a middle ear infection, which turned out to be a burst eardrum. The ear started getting better (less pain and less full feeling) within 24 hours, but the pain from the shot is still a 2-2.5 on a scale of 10, 8 days after administration."

Ceftriaxone for Kidney Infections "An injection of Rocephin does hurt a little, but it's reconstituted with Lidocaine to lessen the pain. If you are not faint of heart with shots and you don't have an allergy to the drug, then it will work wonders for you."

Ceftriaxone for Pneumonia "I had been to the hospital with some pretty bad pneumonia. They were in the process of discharging me when the nurse gave me the shot. Let me be clear, I have NEVER EVER felt such a painful shot in my life. Holy cow, it felt like I had broken my arm and I couldn’t move it for at least 30 minutes after. The nurse said to rub it out, and luckily it didn’t hurt too bad the next day."

Ceftriaxone for Bacterial Infection "The Rocephin injection is so painful. It burns like crazy. Taking the shot 24 hours ago in my right butt cheek, but my butt is still sore that I can't sit down. Moreover, I got a painful red lump at the injection site. The doctor prescribed for me 4 Rocephin shots. I don't want to take the injection anymore."

Ceftriaxone for Bacterial Infection "Got the shot in my hip last night for an infection in the lymph nodes in my neck. I felt a little better, but it made me even more sore and sensitive in my shoulders and chest afterward. Now it's been a full day and all the pain is back, the only thing that isn't is the dizziness. So far, no real difference."

For Urinary Tract Infection "I received 4 pills and this thick liquid antibiotic shot, Rocefin/Ceftriaxone. A shot never hurt me until I got this one, lol. The pain of the shot was so bad in my arm I could only laugh. The doctors told me that’s all I needed, I didn’t have any follow-up antibiotics, which kind of concerns me, but maybe I’ll take some over-the-counter antibiotics to be sure it’s treated. After 2 days of taking the pills and the shot, my UTI symptoms have already faded, it actually worked great."

For Middle Ear Infections "I've gotten this ceftriaxone shot at least five times in my life. Most recently, and every time for double ear infections. They shot me in my butt with two shots, one this, and the other was a steroid. Either way, I don't have back issues whatsoever, and my lower back is usually on fire, it really hurts! I most definitely feel this shot is worth whatever pain you are going through to need it. Suffer through the pain and get by."

For Bronchitis "My 16-year-old son had a persistent sinus and throat infection. On our second trip to an urgent care center, the doctor prescribed a Decadron shot and a 1-gram shot of Rocephin. He was not very happy to hear he was getting two shots, but nothing else had worked. The nurse came in with the shots and said both had to go in his bottom. The Decadron shot wasn’t too bad, but the Rocephin shot looked very large and was very painful. Even so, it really worked. He was sore from the Rocephin shot, but symptoms were almost completely gone the next day. I know he hated the Rocephin shot, but it really did work."
