For Bacterial Infection "I have been suffering from chronic sore throats for over a year and have had a horrible time with ups and downs of feeling well and then suddenly sick to the point where I had to miss work, like death. Doctors kept telling me, 'Oh, it's just a virus and will pass.' It always came back. Finally, my doctor tried a shot of Rocephin, and it started to work within a couple of hours. I still felt sick the next day and had to miss work and wound up in the ER the following evening due to extreme migraine headache, high BP, nausea, but I think it was from the doxycycline that was also given to me to take orally. Was a very rough night. But the next day, I felt 100% better and I've been feeling so much healthier since. Like a miracle!"

For Bacterial Infection "Sore Throat Guy: About a week ago, I had a sore throat. I began taking two pills a day of Augmentin, which had always worked well for me, but not this time, and I had taken about 7 days of it. Yesterday, I returned to my family doctor because I began having a very bad earache. He decided to give me a shot of Rocephin. The nurse came in with the shot, and she told me that it was going to hurt. I told her I wanted it in my left hip. She again told me it was going to hurt, I told her. She said, 'Here we go,' and I saw when she inserted the needle, and I told her I didn't even feel it, she sorta laughed. Then she began injecting it, and I've had shots before, however, she was right. It hurt! Today, my pain is 99.9% gone. So, it worked great for me."

For Urinary Tract Infection "I had developed a UTI just a few days ago. After 2 days of back pain and abdominal pain, I finally went to my Dr. They wrote a prescription for Ciprofloxacin and also gave me 2 Rocephin injections in my butt. Having been diagnosed with Spina Bifida while still in my mother's womb in 1984, I've had many urinary tract infections. Every oral antibiotic takes so long for relief, but the Rocephin injections worked almost instantaneously!!! The sting from the shot hurts, but the results are well worth getting the shot!!!"

For Gonococcal Infection, Uncomplicated "I picked up gonorrhea... received one shot of ceftriaxone in combination with oral azithromycin. The needle was huge, but I didn’t feel anything. Started clearing up the infection almost immediately. 12+ hours later and still no pain... there must have been a lot of lidocaine mixed in."

For Pneumonia "I'm a 16-year-old girl. I have had mono in the past. I recently was concerned about my right tonsil because it won't go down. Shortly after the doctor appointment, I got a cold, or so I thought, and it turned out I had walking pneumonia. It happens fast! I had a shot of Rocephin, and my right buttock has never been in such pain, but within 24 hours, my chest felt absolutely clear. I have had a little cough since and some leg and butt pain, otherwise, I'm so grateful for this medicine! ❤️"

For Bacterial Infection "I just got the shot of Rocephin in the doctor's office today. I had been on oral antibiotics for a brown recluse spider bite. I can tell a difference after getting the shot today, my finger looks much better. I haven't had this shot since I was a baby."

For Lyme Disease, Neurologic "Like others, I was misdiagnosed, for me, it was 25 years! I started slowly with other antibiotics and anti-malarial for Babesia, TBRF, and Lyme. When I finally started injecting Rocephin, I felt amazing afterward. Some days not so much... but like other comments, it’s made a big difference. My stomach feels amazing, and my joints stopped throbbing (in the AM... still tired at the end of the day). And neck was looser, and bones feel better. I already removed my GB... hoping to get rid of an odd side pain, so that’s not an issue for me. Hoping the effects last. May switch over to disulfiram eventually. Good luck all... we can get better step by step, hopefully! With nothing but love for my fellow sufferers!"

For Urinary Tract Infection "I had a shot after several days of a UTI. It cleared the UTI quickly (in addition to oral antibiotics), but the lump at the shot site is still there! It's been over a month, and I can still feel the lump under my skin. Slightly painful to the touch."

For Bacterial Infection "I’ve had this injection twice, once when I was pregnant for an ear infection/flu, and once today for a sinus infection, and it works so well!!!! Clears up a sinus infection within hours. This shot is HUGE and it hurts, but if your nurse injects it into you slowly, it won’t be too bad. I am terrified of these shots, but I begged for it today and was glad I got it."

For Urinary Tract Infection "I had what I think was a kidney stone. A week later, a UTI started. It was the lightest UTI I have ever had, yet the hardest to treat. I've never responded poorly to any shot nor antibiotic, but because I have had a lot of GI and gallbladder problems this year, my body hated the oral antibiotics. My doctor tried two different ones. And I was as sick as a dog. I was also scared because my liver and gallbladder were hurting, and I stayed in bed for a week trying to combat nausea. My doctor then recommended this shot. I had two, and so far, no side effects (NONE), and my UTI seems to be improving. I recommend! I hope I don’t need a third, but if I do, I want the shot! The shot did not hurt me either time. I've had way worse shots, and this was cake in comparison and WAY BETTER than nausea and liver damage!!! Why are all UTIs not treated with the shot? It is way better!"

For Urinary Tract Infection "I have a bowel infection and it went into my bladder. I had no UTI symptoms except the strange color on my water wipe. I'm always sick with something and thought it was just the flu. Not around anyone. Long story, but after ER anaphylactic reaction on a med that was helping, things got worse. So by the end of the week, it had started making me feel delirious. Heard that can happen with seniors. Being allergic to almost every antibiotic, the ER doctor wanted me to have something while waiting for the culture to result. So after IV fluids, I chose Rocephin. It was given IV and I was told to come back the next morning for another injection. The highly compassionate nurse did not want to cause me pain, so she mixed it with lidocaine to minimize the pain. The area was sore after the shot but not while I was getting it, and I have no muscle on me. She gave me an ice pack and the soreness was gone in 30 minutes. This is a miracle drug for me. I can't take the pill version. I was on my way to sepsis. It saved me."

For Intraabdominal Infection "I was placed on a 30-day course of Rocephin via I.V. infusion (PICC line) by my infectious diseases doctor to handle a persistent, recurring, and resistant strain of E. coli that had caused a very serious intestinal infection. The infection caused perforation and led to an emergency ileocecectomy, partial colectomy, and resection of my sigmoid colon. Taking the Rocephin was easy - it came in small pre-pressurized 'bulbs' that I attached to the PICC line once a day and then carried around with me in a pocket for 30-40 minutes while it administered the proper dosage. Rocephin worked wonderfully for me, with zero side effects. My white blood cell count fell back to normal levels within a week of starting the treatment, and I have been infection-free now for more than 90 days."

For Pneumonia "Went to the doctor on a Monday with what I thought was sinuses acting up. They thought the same... by the next day, I had a bad cough and didn’t even feel like moving any muscle. I stayed on the couch for 2 days with a fever ranging from 100-102! I finally forced myself to go see the doctor again on Wednesday, and yup, pneumonia. They gave me a Rocephin shot in the office and also a prescription for a Z-pack! By the time I got home an hour later, my fever had dropped to around 99, and 30 minutes later, it was back to normal. Woke up the next day and thought, man, I could go to work (not very smart thinking on my end). I made it through work, but it wore me out. The doctor had me come back Saturday for another Rocephin shot, and today I feel more back to normal."

For Middle Ear Infections "I had a shot of Rocephin 1g in my (R) gluteus 1 week and 1 day ago. The pain upon injection was a 5.5 on a scale of 10. It is a big shot, and it takes several seconds to administer. This was to treat a middle ear infection, which turned out to be a burst eardrum. The ear started getting better (less pain and less full feeling) within 24 hours, but the pain from the shot is still a 2-2.5 on a scale of 10, 8 days after administration."

For Pneumonia "I had been to the hospital with some pretty bad pneumonia. They were in the process of discharging me when the nurse gave me the shot. Let me be clear, I have NEVER EVER felt such a painful shot in my life. Holy cow, it felt like I had broken my arm and I couldn’t move it for at least 30 minutes after. The nurse said to rub it out, and luckily it didn’t hurt too bad the next day."

For Middle Ear Infections "My daughter gets ear infections, and along with that, she gets nightly vomiting. Keeping the oral antibiotics down is difficult, then after 10 days, it's still not gone. Thanks for Rocephin, it is the only thing that really gets the job done. Why have your little one suffer?"

For Bone infection "I got this drug two weeks ago because of a persistent jaw bone issue. The doctor wanted to see if it would improve its outcome. I cannot tolerate oral antibiotics at this point. The shot given into my hip was immediately painful down the leg and into the back. She said it would be painful. That night it was still very painful, and I began getting random nerve pain all over my body, my throat became painful, and blisters on the back of my throat. It was the weekend, so I didn't call in. When I did, they said they would put it down as an allergic reaction to the shot. It has taken two weeks for my throat to calm down, the nerve pain throughout the body is much less but still occurring. There are still blisters on the back of my throat, and I feel awful still. I would never get this drug again for any reason. This was given as a shot 1000 mg into my hip. I am 70 years old."

For Bacterial Infection "The Rocephin injection is so painful. It burns like crazy. Taking the shot 24 hours ago in my right butt cheek, but my butt is still sore that I can't sit down. Moreover, I got a painful red lump at the injection site. The doctor prescribed for me 4 Rocephin shots. I don't want to take the injection anymore."

For Bacterial Infection "Concerning painful injection of Rocephin: just ask the nurse to give it very, very slowly. This makes all the difference. If given very fast, you can hardly walk out of the office. Slowly, no problem, of course, it will burn a little going in, but not badly."

For Urinary Tract Infection "Fortunately, I don’t get UTIs very often, but when I get them, they’re extremely severe. I will feel one coming on, and then within an hour or two, I’m peeing blood, in severe pain, and going every few minutes. I was hit with one in the middle of the night four days ago and was left with no choice but to go to the ER. I was prescribed Macrobid, which has always helped me in the past, but a couple of days later, I felt that I was getting even worse. I went back to the ER yesterday morning, and they gave me an IV of Rocephin and switched my at-home antibiotics. It’s been almost 24 hours since my Rocephin dose, and I feel AMAZING. It helped the pelvic pain within maybe 4-6 hours. I woke up this morning, and it still burned to pee, but now that I’ve been up for a few hours, the burning is gone. I am so grateful for this miracle antibiotic. I finally feel like a human again."

For Urinary Tract Infection "I had a UTI come back 3 weeks after taking Bactrim Sulfate for 3 days, and I woke in the middle of the night with sweats and the painful urgency to go pee. It was so bad that I couldn't wait to see my doctor the next day. I went to the E.R. at midnight, and after receiving treatment, I was given an injection of Rocephin 1 MG, with a written prescription for a 7-day antibiotic. LISTEN to me when I tell you this injection was like Satan slapping me on my rear and saying enjoy the next 10 minutes of fire. It hurt going in and hurt so bad, like my skin was melting for 10 minutes afterward. But IT WORKED, when I got up the next morning at 6 am, the urgency to pee was gone, and I had no pain. The injection site was very tender."

For Bacterial Infection "Got the shot in my hip last night for an infection in the lymph nodes in my neck. I felt a little better, but it made me even more sore and sensitive in my shoulders and chest afterward. Now it's been a full day and all the pain is back, the only thing that isn't is the dizziness. So far, no real difference."
