"I was treated by this med ceftriaxone because of gonorrhea, and I had worst side effects. I felt weak and tired after 2 days taking the antibiotic, and it lasted weeks. Did anyone experience the same side effects?"

Ceftriaxone "I picked up gonorrhea... received one shot of ceftriaxone in combination with oral azithromycin. The needle was huge, but I didn’t feel anything. Started clearing up the infection almost immediately. 12+ hours later and still no pain... there must have been a lot of lidocaine mixed in."

"My boyfriend gave me gonorrhea. I went to get treatment and received an injection of Rocephin in my arm. I'm usually good with needles, but this was one of the most painful injections I've ever received in my life. Especially the second after they removed the needle. I felt like my soul came out of my body in agonizing pain! I started to have tremors, and the doctor kept asking me if I was okay, but I couldn't take the pain anymore. I didn't scream or anything, I held it down. I guess that's why it hurts so much more! I think if you get it in the butt, it will hurt less. But this stuff hurts, and I am not joking! Ceftriaxone "Found out I had gonorrhea. Doctor prescribed this and antibiotic pills (doxy). The shot is not as painful as everyone says, especially if you take precautions: 1. Insist that they mix the shot with lidocaine, 2. Ice it when you get home, ice it before bed. I got it in the left arm, and I was rock climbing the next day. Symptoms decreased significantly 6 hours after the shot."

"Ended up being diagnosed with gonorrhea. Went to the ER to be treated. They gave me the shot in my butt. The nurse warned me that it's a painful injection. Not because of the needle, but because the medicine 'stings.' That was the understatement of a lifetime! It felt like I got kicked in the ass by a horse! I was in so much pain that I couldn't even move. Took about 20 mins for the pain to go away. Honestly, the worst pain I have ever felt in my entire life! The medicine works extremely fast, and I was feeling 80% better within just a few hours, and now 24 hours later, I am cured! I learned my lesson about unprotected sex! Never again."

Ceftriaxone "My daughter was given this injection for gonorrhea. The injection was very painful, it caused nausea, but she does feel a lot better. No more dark colored urine or smelly discharge. It works."
