For High Blood Pressure "I'm on carvedilol for my BP, and my side effects are constipation, gas, bloating, dizziness, and tiredness. My doctor said to me to keep taking it! So I changed doctors. I wish I told him you take this poison! Unbelievable. I would rather walk around with high blood pressure than take this garbage!"

For High Blood Pressure "The lowest dose of Carvedilol 2 times per day was effective in lowering my moderately high blood pressure almost immediately (170/90 that shoots higher under stress). However, it has lowered my blood pressure too low when inactive (100/70 ave.). Sometimes when I sit still or wake up from sleep in the middle of the night or in the morning, I have a random moment of anxiety followed by extreme dizziness, disorientation, and nausea that lasts a good period of time, sometimes 2-3 hours. Before I had a stress test & was cleared as 'perfect,' this scared me terribly and my blood pressure would shoot up to 180/100. Sometimes after taking it, I'm drowsy, but I'm exhausted from dealing with this and trying to continue with life. Hoping to get off of it ASAP, effective but horrible side effects."

For High Blood Pressure "3 drug meds including Carvedilol after 'fluke' heart attack 3 years ago from 'plaque collapse' requiring stent. Surgeon said no permanent damage to my heart probably from years of working out regularly. Carvedilol up to 6.25 mg 2x a day and up to 12.50 mg 2x a day by cardiologist to try to get BP under 130. Just saw primary for annual physical. Exhausted. Drinking lots of caffeine to get any energy. Workouts about 10% of past ability and not obese, but weight higher than ever. Would NEVER suggest med change without doc approval, but just cut my pills in half back down to 6.25 mg 2x per day to try to get energy back. Once primary gets blood work results, expect he'll get me off this med and onto a diuretic as discussed, but am personally making the decision to cut back my dosage on this one effective today. Bad enough to be fighting age to get back into shape, but now believe this drug is actively preventing me from working out harder which is making my physical condition worse."

For Left Ventricular Dysfunction "I was diagnosed 8 years ago with severe dysfunction of the left ventricle with an EF of 26. I was put on carvedilol 8 years ago, and my EF has been steady now at around 46-48, for which I am grateful. However, the side effects I have experienced from 25 mg x2 carvedilol have been horrible, I feel hypotensive and walk around feeling impaired, almost drunkenly. I have asked my doctor if I can reduce it or come off it, but he is reluctant to do this because I have had good heart function. I am going on 65 now, and I really don't enjoy doing much of anything because I am always tired and lightheaded. I am seriously considering cutting it back on my own. This is no way to live, the quality of life from this medication is pretty poor."

For High Blood Pressure "Heart attack in 2013. Started taking Solco Healthcare's Coreg (Carvedilol). Started with 3.25 twice a day. BP was average 140/90. Eventually went to 12.5 and now at 25 twice a day. Been 2 weeks of taking the 25 mg and my BP averages 160/100. And I'm always tired. Blurred eyesight. Angina... Doctor thinks increasing dosage will be the answer to lowering BP. I disagree. I won't stop taking it on my own, but quality of life isn't close to where it should be."

For Atrial Fibrillation "I have been taking this medication for 2 months, and I feel horrible. I have every side effect listed besides impotence. I am going to stop taking this medication with or without the doctor's blessing. I am tired of having shortness of breath and being extremely tired ALL THE TIME. I have a small child, and I can't keep up. I cannot walk to my car from my office, about 200 yards away. I am not doing this to myself anymore."

For High Blood Pressure "I was on this for a month. I also have COPD. I have been getting weak, couldn't walk farther than a few steps without having to rest and totally exhausted about an hour after taking this medicine. Dr. thought my COPD was getting worse but couldn't control it. I remembered I started feeling this way right after being switched from Metoprolol to this medicine. I refused to take it again and after missing two doses, I can breathe and walk again. Back on Metoprolol."

For Atrial Fibrillation "Taking carvedilol for 8 weeks now. Started off fine and seemed like it was the answer. Now, extreme tiredness, dizzy spells, nausea, and episodes of low blood pressure and heart rate. Depression is just an added bonus side effect. Ready to throw all meds in the garbage and roll the dice. 68 yrs old."

For High Blood Pressure "Carvedilol was added along with HCTZ 3/6/18, to be taken 2x a day for high blood pressure. Within the hour, I started having sporadic migraine-type headaches with a severe 'ice pick sensation' over the top of my head, mobilized, terrible headache pain behind my eyes and at the back of my head. Seems like chronic back pain was made worse. I feel even more tired, no energy, even less motivation, with horrible derealization. BP before was 152/90. BP later was 147/87-64. Glucose 126, 3 hours after lunch. Migraine ice pick sensation back again, headache pain behind my eyes with shooting headache at the back of my head at 4:12 PM, BP 166/86-59. Glucose 58, 5 hours after dinner. BP, 1:59 AM 145/78-69. 2nd dose 2:20 AM 140/75-69. I had taken HCTZ first, 2 hours later taken Carvedilol. My voiding seems normal until taking Carvedilol, which leaves a very noticeable decrease in voiding throughout the day and night. I also have experienced feeling more cold, with hands and fingers tingling with palpitations in my neck."

For High Blood Pressure "I have been using atenolol and amlodipine for 6 months now, and it works for me, but because of the side effects, my doctor changed it to carvedilol 12.5 mg once daily. It worked also. My boyfriend still reads 110/75 at times 122/82, but I'm still having the side effects of pains, shortness of breath, numbness, little chest fluttering, tiredness, and my internal body will be shaking."

Carvedilol for High Blood Pressure "Switched from Atenolol after many years due to usual beta blocker problems (tiredness, etc.) and blood pressure wouldn't stay down long, tightness in chest, and breathlessness. After 3 months on Coreg CR, tightness in chest much better, breathlessness no change, blood pressure stays down all day, but is 147/91 at night and in the morning. It is 113/57 two hours after medication, but I am also taking Isosorbide ER at the same time, which also lowers blood pressure as a side effect. Coreg CR is much more expensive, but I would rather take this anytime compared to Atenolol. Also beware of mixing these with Nasonex (no matter what they say) and any cold decongestants with phenylephrine. They will increase blood pressure."

For Atrial Fibrillation "In October of 2015, I experienced a defibrillation. After 3 days in the hospital, it was determined that I was to have a triple bypass. A week after I had that operation, I had another defibrillation. I had average to low pressure prior to my surgery and defibrillation, my cardiologist put me on carvedilol (generic) 3.125 twice a day to help my heart gain strength after the operation. I also had a defibrillator installed. In the beginning of my recuperation, I didn't feel anything, but as time went on, I felt tired, gained weight, and after 8 months, started to experience dizzy spells when getting up or laying down. Moodiness and lack of sex drive were also side effects that hit me. My doctor has now taken me off the medication. Let's see any change."

For High Blood Pressure "I have had mediocre high blood pressure since fifteen. 150/90 on average, and I also have PTSD. So I had been taking Lexapro (which is fantastic) and a low dose benzo two times a day. I decided to try some BP meds, and a diuretic was first. Hated it. Metoprolol XL was the second try, and it made me so tired and then added anxiety. I was put on Coreg 12.5 x 2 times a day for 25 mg. It lowered my BP 10-15 points. I am a smoker, 5 ft 8, and 203 lbs... built sturdy. Not only did I not have side effects, it changed my life. It may be the mix of what I take daily? But holy cow... I feel fantastic! Like I knocked 10 years off my life. No more heart racing, no more stress in my chest. I read bad reviews and delayed taking it. I REGRET THAT. This is a fantastic medicine. Don't be scared!"
