For Drowsiness "I must say that Viavarin has been a lifesaver. I only take one tablet at a time, could not imagine taking two. It gives me approximately 4-6 hours of predictable energy. I feel when it kicks in, and I know when I am coming down. If I have a long day, I take one early and one later, but I usually cannot sleep if I have two in my system. Being a student, it really helps me focus. And personally, I don't like the NoDoz, they take a longer time to kick in and thus longer to wear off."

For Asthma "Caffeine is better than nothing and if it doesn't give you insomnia or jitters, it's probably helpful for us asthmatics to have a daily cup of coffee or tea. However, I can't say that it's overly helpful, and I certainly don't think it should be used before an actual asthma medication."

Caffeine "I have been taking Vivarin on and off since middle school as a form of self-treatment for sleep apnea and narcolepsy type 1, since I was scared of taking amphetamines and such. Worked well for about 4-5 years, while spending months being between 200-400 mg/d, while also taking 3-12 month breaks due to tolerance build-up. Up until recently, after being off Vivarin for about a year, I decided to buy a box and noticed that a different company (I guess) had taken over the rights for Vivarin? The box looks different but still gets me slightly stimulated. 5 years ago, I would have given it a 7/10, but now it gets a 5/10 since it barely even works. After a year of being caffeine-free, lol. Pros are it gets you very much physically stimulated, turns on your peripheral nervous system, fatigue is reduced, metabolism is at full speed, and has a subtle 'good feeling' similar to Adderall, but it's honestly kinda poopy. Cons include increased anxiety (already have an anxiety disorder), insomnia, jitters, and strong crash even if you didn't feel it."
