For Dietary Supplementation "I've been taking biotin on and off for over a year now. Never really connected stomach issues with this supplement before. I was taking 5000 mcg every day, but experiencing severe diarrhea and didn't know why until my cousin mentioned her problem while taking biotin. My hair is thick and shiny, but nails are still thin and weak. I will cut down on biotin usage and see if this helps resolve my issues."

For Dietary Supplementation "Worst supplement I ever took. I developed cystic acne. Large pimples continued to develop even after I stopped taking the biotin. I could not believe how huge the cysts formed under my skin. My chin literally was deformed with the cysts. I had one on the left side of my chin and one on the right. They were the diameter of a dime and massively swollen. I was so embarrassed, there was nothing to make them go away. I continue to get small cysts of acne randomly on my face, I never had acne like this before. Do not take this product. Terrible doesn't begin to describe it... and reducing the symptoms by drinking water with it does not help, nor taking a B vitamin, as people suggest."

For Dietary Supplementation "I'm a 28-year-old transgender male who is generally healthy and physically active. I take no medication aside from testosterone, which I've been on for years for gender transition. At the suggestion of my hairdresser, I began to take a dose of 1000 mcg biotin once a day alongside my normal meals to help my hair grow out faster. After 4-5 days of taking this supplement, I had the first migraine of my life. It was preceded by a strong aura that messed with my vision, and the ache from the migraine lasted for days. I've never had issues with headaches before, and nothing else has changed about my life (diet, stress, etc.) in literal months, so I'm assuming the biotin triggered it. Since quitting the biotin, I have not had another migraine. If you don't have an active reason to think you need this supplement, I'd advise against taking it."

Biotin for Dietary Supplementation "I've been taking it for over a month, with no side effects until today. Had the worst nightmare ever, and I'm still not sure if it was because I took it without a meal or not. Hopefully, it was just a random fact and not a side effect of a hallucination."

For Dietary Supplementation "Yes, it seems headaches may come with biotin. So halve the dose. It's like in the hospital when you get an infection, they give you MASSIVE doses of antibiotics to absolutely be sure to destroy everything and anything. When it has been found that half doses or less work just as well. So if you are getting headaches, stomach cramps, or feeling nauseous, just halve the dose and see. Instead of taking a pill three times a day, try it once, at lunchtime preferably. And if you are getting bald spots from rubbing in a serum, stop using the serum."

For Dietary Supplementation "I took biotin for about 5 months. After a while, I noticed, why do I look so much older? I'm 23. I thought I just started aging super fast or something. Then I realized I always had dark circles. I'm off school and work currently, so I sleep a perfect amount without an alarm every day. My hair is way frizzier. I thought that it was just my hair growing back, but my hair looks horrible. I looked through pictures of my face from March and July of this year before I started taking biotin, and I noticed I didn't have dark circles and frizzy hair. That's when I realized it was the biotin that was making me look so much worse. I just hope this will reverse."

For Dietary Supplementation "I took organic real fruit biotin gummy 5000 mcg per day for 2 months. It didn't help my hair fall, and I was thinking maybe I needed to take it for a few months to get the result. I was surprised why I was sweating crazy. And I think it was hot flashes. Then I stopped this biotin gummy, and no more hot flashes."

Biotin for Dietary Supplementation "I have been taking Shediva for about a month and a half. I have not had any side effects. This is my 2nd time using it. The first time, it took about 2 1/2 months to see results. So it does work. But you must read the ingredients and make sure you are not allergic to any of the ingredients. Please do your research and talk with your doctor before starting."

For Dietary Supplementation "Worst vitamin ever. I took it for less than a week, and I am on my 3rd month still having large cystic acne. So bad that I might have to either go for laser or chemical peel. I didn't even have a single pimple on my face, and people used to compliment me for my skin. Worst, worst, worst supplement ever which affected my confidence. They really need to stop selling it."

"Age 61. Ah, I was wondering if the headache and flu-like symptoms were from the biotin. 5,000, 2 per day, for five days. Nails are noticeably stronger. I did have a headache and flu-like symptoms. I will cut down and see if that helps. I take other medication, so I was looking up drug interactions and found this. I have lupus. Lost my long eyelashes and have significant hair loss, right in front. I use this stuff called Caboki. I sprinkle it on, and it covers it right up. I am taking biotin for my thin, lost hair. I read that you need to drink a lot of water to lessen side effects. I know from experience it takes your body a while to get used to any medication and/or supplements. I am optimistic because of the change in my nail health in 5 days. That’s pretty good. Best wishes!"

For Dietary Supplementation "Consult a doctor before using. After taking the first dose, I felt like I was having a heart attack. I've never had heart issues before. This side effect lasted longer than anticipated. Scariest 24 hours of my life! Now I'm skeptical of all vitamins, you should be too."

For Dietary Supplementation "I started taking biotin due to thinning hair. I had a hysterectomy at 36. Menopause symptoms started at age 49. I’m now 55. It was a bit hit and miss when I took them at first and probably only took 3-4 a week and noticed no difference. I thought it was time to be strict and take them daily as recommended. Dose of 10,000 mcg. I have been having headaches/auras every other day but had not connected it with the biotin. Occasional breakouts on my face, but worse on my back. The real game changer for me is weight gain. This I hadn’t connected either. I have put on 10 lb in a month. Now, whether I’m eating more, I don’t know. I drink 1800-2000 ml a day. I’m stopping them now because I can't bear to put on any more weight. It definitely coincides with increasing the biotin. Wish I had never started them, although a shame as my hair has thickened."

For Dietary Supplementation "I have had soft fingernails all my life. They broke, split, and delaminated very easily, and I could never grow them. I then developed a split in my left thumbnail from tip to bed that continued as the nail grew, never repaired for nearly 2 years. I was searching the internet for a solution and read about Biotin, some reviews said the results were unproven, but I thought I would try anyway as I was getting desperate. Well, I have been on them now for 6 weeks, and I am very happy with the results. The split seems to have repaired, there is only now a faint line where it was, and all my nails have strengthened and are growing beautifully. I even put nail polish on the other day (I had to take it off again as I am very bad at using it because I have never had the opportunity to practice). I am also hopeful that my hair is improving. Overall, I am very happy with Biotin and the results I have achieved and have started recommending it to others."

For Dietary Supplementation "I take the Biotin Softgels with coconut oil, 10,000 MCG, for about a month now. Purchased them off of Amazon, not expensive at all. I took these for the fact that I have a problem trying to dye my hair on my own, which I totally ruined. I only had stubbles come on, so I purchased this and I take them every single day. My hair is growing very fast, along with my nails, and my skin looks a lot better. I have no side effects or headaches or any type of acne. So I would say this does me very well."

For Dietary Supplementation "I've been using biotin for a while, months. Recently had labs drawn and my B12 was 1900. Normal is 900 at max. I became extremely fatigued, no change in hair, had chills. Thought it was COVID. Stopped biotin and felt totally normal again in a few days. This drug will skew labs and should not be taken for weeks prior. Beware!!!"

For Dietary Supplementation "My clients have successfully used high dose biotin 8mg 1-2 times/day with meals to help with symptoms of nerve pain in MS. I have also personally used it at this dosage to address nerve pain successfully. It does NOT make you nauseous or sick. People who are saying this are dealing with another health imbalance. If you are having thyroid testing, you should abstain for 72 hours before blood draw as it can produce false readings."

For Dietary Supplementation "Hairstylist-Platform Artist, 32 years of experience. I know what I'm talking about! It's a waste of money. My advice is to eat right, work out to reduce stress, have your sleep, see a doctor. The pill for alopecia is a risk to take because it can cause severe kidney damage. My best solution is to use Rogaine 'minoxidil 5%.' It works. Doctor Oz agrees with me, he did a study on it on his show. But don't get fooled by the women’s formula with '2.5% minoxidil.' It's a money grab, it does not work. Women, please do yourself a favor and use the men's formula too! I have seen dramatic results in just 1 month of use!"

Biotin for Dietary Supplementation "I've been using this product for 3 weeks now. For 2 weeks, I was fine, till this week, I felt a change. I have very bad nervousness and weakness sometimes."
For Dietary Supplementation "I’m an 80-year-old female. I’ve been taking Biotin for about a month. It was recommended to me by my young granddaughter, who took it while she was having chemo, which was causing hair loss. I’ve always had thick hair but suddenly got a couple of patches of hair loss. Also, my nails were splitting lengthwise, also very thin and not growing. I’m amazed at the side effects some people have experienced. I can honestly say I’ve had nothing like this, and my nails are so much stronger and no more splitting. Also, my hair is back to normal. I certainly intend to keep taking it."
