For Sinusitis "Had sinus infections most of my life. Prescribed for the first sinus infection 20 years ago and just ended a 6-week infection with 5 days of 500 mg. They've tried about every other antibiotic alternative for fear long-term exposure to azithro could decrease effectiveness. Other antibiotics, air purifiers, nasal wash systems, sprays, antihistamines... nothing else works for my sinuses. The only side effect I get is increased appetite. Still, azithro is the only thing that works for me 20 years!"

For Sinusitis "Had a very sore throat, sinus and ears completely congested, lungs and back extremely sore with a gurgling sound in every breath and continuous coughing. Overall, I felt very miserable. I'm very reluctant to go to a doctor but finally did. I was given the 5-day Z-pack. I noticed feeling a lot better even after the first dose. I wasn't expecting something to work so quickly. Now on the 3rd day and sort of leveled out. Not feeling better, but I'm not miserable. Still congested in my lungs, but I can breathe freely. I hope this knocks it out by the 5th day."

For Chlamydia Infection "Took two azithromycin 500 mg pills after a bigger meal, so I was full - as my pharmacist instructed, and I was fine. Only thing is, I did have some pretty bad diarrhea, but only made 2 trips to the bathroom."

Azithromycin for Upper Respiratory Tract Infection "Upper respiratory infection Zithromax 250 mg. My doctor gave me a Z-Pak, 2 tabs on day 1, followed by 1 tablet the next 4 days. Total tablets 6. Zithromax is the generic drug for Azithromycin. First time prescribed. **Note: I have asthma** and was feeling more fatigued and lightheaded. Drugs.com interaction checker pointed out that since I used 2 inhalers: 1. Pro-Air and 2. Advair, my potassium level would be affected. A moderate interaction warning. I started drinking Gatorade and began to feel better. My mom is diabetic, and Gatorade makes flavored 12 oz bottles that have potassium and will not affect your blood sugar."

Azithromycin for Upper Respiratory Tract Infection "This medicine is the best. I have been using this medicine about once every year for upper respiratory tract infections. It really starts to work by day 2 and continues to work after about a week. As with any medicine, the side effects with me are going to the restroom more than usual."

For Upper Respiratory Tract Infection "Called Dr. because my inner ear was hurting. She sent a script to the pharmacy for pickup. My ear stopped hurting, but then a week later I had a chest cold. Took Z-pack, after day two, I am able to function, and mucus is coming up out of my chest. Feeling 90% now. Was feeling at 40%."

For Chlamydia Infection "Took two 500 mg (1,000 total) in one dose. A little stomach pain but was able to sleep it off. No other side effects. The key to taking this antibiotic is to eat, eat, eat. Eat something before and eat something after. And drink an entire bottle of water and then some. You'll be fine! Most people only share negative reviews, but my experience with the antibiotic was just fine. And I have the worst anxiety. Just eat and drink water, and you'll be fine."

For Chlamydia Infection "I recently got out of a relationship. It was a hard and painful breakup to endure. I started using sex as a coping mechanism, and it wasn’t long before I caught chlamydia. I compared my symptoms to a UTI. Please always use protection. I'm glad it was only chlamydia. It could’ve been worse. I took two azithromycin pills at the same time after dinner one night. I felt incredibly nauseous, sick, and irritable an hour or two later, but that just means it’s working on the infection. But, I’ll still have the symptoms until it’s been a full 7 days, then it should clear up. But, make sure you drink lots of water to get that infection out of your system!"

Azithromycin for Bronchitis "The Z-Pak cleared up my bronchitis right away. However, it almost instantly caused symptoms of gastritis and pancreatitis that made me very ill for five months. I could eat very little but was rapidly losing weight. My doctor found low liver and kidney enzymes and suggested further tests. An endoscopy, colonoscopy, ultrasound, several lab tests, and $1,700 later, there was no diagnosis, but after five months, I gradually got better. The next winter, I got another cold that turned into bronchitis and was again prescribed a Z-Pak. Almost immediately, the same symptoms occurred, and I was just as sick for another five months. This time, the connection was clear - Z-Pak."

For Chlamydia Infection "I was prescribed 1g of azithromycin in 2 500mg pills. My doctor allowed me to take them an hour apart to try to avoid some stomach upset. I took them at 8 pm with dinner, and was fine till about midnight. I got pretty bad stomach cramps and diarrhea consistently throughout the night. By the next morning, though, everything had subsided, and I was fine. Ate normally, felt no side effects. I began feeling better after a day and was negative upon re-test. Medicines work well, you just have to put up with a few unpleasant side effects sometimes."

Azithromycin for Bronchitis "I came down with bronchitis and was prescribed Zithromax. I was prone to ear infections when I was younger and was always prescribed this because I was allergic to penicillin. I had no side effects then, but now I have bad stomach cramps and diarrhea."

Azithromycin for Bronchitis "Overall, the medications I was prescribed by the doctors worked pretty well. I had an awful cough for a little over two weeks, constantly coughing up phlegm, and had horrible wheezing. It says online to try and wait it out for two weeks, but since nothing was getting better, I went to the doctors. I was prescribed the Z pack, a 5-day dose of prednisone, and an inhaler. After about 3 days on the medications, there was a significant difference. I no longer was experiencing cough attacks, and the amount I was wheezing diminished. I've been off the medication for 3 days now, and a majority of my bronchitis is gone. I experienced no side effects with any of the medications and am overall happy with the results."

Azithromycin for Bronchitis "I am allergic to amoxicillin, so the only thing that I get prescribed is the Z-Pack! I like it that the Dose Pack is pre-dosed for you! Within a few days, I feel better! I usually get the lower dose! So by day 5, I feel 85%. I like it when it stays in my system even after taking the last dose!"

For Bronchitis "I'm 43, with a lifelong history of bronchitis. When I get sick, I often find myself coughing until I vomit. I have been prescribed the 'Z Pack' several times. I have found that, while it does ultimately take care of the bronchitis, it takes at least 7-8 days from the time I start the medicine until I begin to feel relief. In fact, during this current episode, my symptoms continued to worsen until today, which is the day I took the last pill. I don't yet feel any better, but today I am not getting any worse. This is consistent with each of the other times I have been prescribed this medication. I typically don't have major stomach issues while taking the medicine, but on occasion, have had issues the first and second day."

For Sinusitis "I was prescribed azithromycin by my doctor for sinusitis. I have suffered from year-long allergies since I was a kid, and this year has definitely been a bad one for me. I was a little worried about taking this medication because I read that some people got bad stomach upset with it. Luckily enough, the worst thing that happened to me was minor lower abdominal cramps, no worse than menstrual cramps. By the time I woke up the next day, I was able to breathe clear for the first time literally in months. I did not feel congested, although I did have a very minor sore throat that I believe was caused by my sinuses finally draining. I definitely recommend taking this drug with food - it helps avoid stomach upset or cramps. Otherwise, this helped me."

For Bronchitis "I am allergic to most antibiotics, including Amoxicillin and Erythromycin. Upon reaching my 8th month of pregnancy, my family all came down with bronchitis, and unfortunately, I caught it as well. The doctors prescribed me the Z-Pack, and within 24 hours I felt tremendously better, which says a lot, considering I was in so much pain I could hardly even function. It took away the body aches, the hot/cold sweats, the fever, and suppressed my coughing. Of the few antibiotics I'm able to take, the Z-Pack always has and will be my first choice - it never ceases to amaze me at how quickly and effectively it works! My whole family swears by it. Highly recommended, 10/10, and two thumbs up. The occasional side effect is worth it."

For Tonsillitis/Pharyngitis "This is my second round of 5 azithromycin tabs, not working for tonsillitis. I have had diarrhea, burning throat, and sore stomach. This all worries me because of the COVID-19. No major fever yet! I wouldn't recommend this med, to hit or miss!"

For Pneumonia "Woke on a Monday, with a cough and shortness of breath. Got worse through the week. Went to an urgent care, and after being tested for the flu, they agreed with me that I had pneumonia. Third time I have had it in 15 years (I'm lucky like that). They gave me a shot and put me on 250 mg for 5 days. On day 4, still out of work, with coughing and shortness of breath. Meds tore up my stomach and caused pain towards the right side. Eat some yogurt before taking, helps some. Either I'm worse than I thought, or it's taken this med longer than I expected to get me back on my feet. Also caused some headaches. Good luck to others taking it, and hope it helps you to feel better."

Azithromycin for Bronchitis "I took a total of two doses: two caplets on day one and one caplet on day two. That night, I had horrible night sweats that soaked through two sets of pajamas. My heart was racing, and I had a metallic taste in my mouth. Stopped taking it. My bronchitis has been going away without it, and finally, one week after I stopped taking it, I'm no longer sweating, the bad taste is gone, and my heart rate is back to normal."

Azithromycin for Tonsillitis/Pharyngitis "This is the only antibiotic that ever works for me. Whenever I have a cold and the doctor claims it is viral, it always goes to my tonsils. This time I waited 7 days, suffering fever and a throat so sore I could not swallow, and eventually went to the pharmacist and asked for Zithromax Z-Pak. Within 1 day, I was 80 percent healed. No side effects. It works for me every time. By day 2, all sinus congestion had gone and I got my first real sleep in two weeks."

For Chlamydia Infection "I took this last night right before bed, slept fine, and woke up this morning with my stomach rumbling, aching, and mild diarrhea. Nothing too horrible, though. I gave it a 9 because I don't know how effective the treatment was yet. I took four 250 mg pills."

For Chlamydia Infection "Well, this has definitely changed my mind about the use of condoms. :| First time I’ve been diagnosed with chlamydia and was given two 500 mg tablets. I took them about an hour ago (had eaten lunch 30 mins prior), and I have the most unbearable stomach pains, chills/fever, and my face is going bright red/heating up. Feeling extremely tired and extremely nauseous, but stomach feels worse every time I lay down, so the only thing I’m able to do is sit there while taking deep breaths and not moving. :("

Azithromycin for Sinusitis "I've taken this for every URI I've ever had and feel better after the first dose. No side effects. I love it. My new doctor won't prescribe it for me for some reason. Well, she's either a PA or a NP. That may have something to do with it. I know what works and is easy to take and doesn't rip my guts out and keeps working long after the last dose is taken. I highly recommend this."

Azithromycin for Bronchitis "I would be very careful taking this antibiotic if you have heart issues. I have mitral valve prolapse and tachycardia, and this antibiotic made it worse after one dose. I asked my doctor three times if it was okay to take if you have heart problems, and she said yes. I’ve since read that it could cause an arrhythmia issue. Well, great, I already have that. Thinking about changing doctors now. Definitely will avoid this antibiotic in the future."

Azithromycin for Middle Ear Infections "I have an ear and throat infection on my left side. My doctor prescribed Azithromycin for 5 days. I have been suffering each day now, and the Azithromycin is not working. It is day 4 now and I still feel like day 1. The doctor noted no improvement, but still wants me to finish all doses."
