For Immune Thrombocytopenia "Tried steroids, rituximab, IVIG, nothing works as well as Doptelet. I take it 2x each week and my platelets are around 50k. No side effects except when I first started taking it and had mild headaches. For me, it's a godsend."

For Immune Thrombocytopenia "After Promacta started losing its effect on platelets we started with Doptelet and the results after two cycles showed no improvement over Promacta at the time we decided to change medications. My Doctor and I are now considering other medications."

For Thrombocytopenia "I was taking Doptelet to build platelets prior to knee replacement surgery. It was doing a great job building my platelet amount. I was prescribed two tablets at once at the same time every day. I was complaining to my friends about not fitting into my clothes and cramping. I felt like I had blown up like a balloon overnight. One of my friends asked me if I’d checked the side effects. It was all there, swelling, rapid weight gain, nose bleeds, shortness of breath, and struggling to breathe after light exertion. Stabbing pain in my brain and headaches. I would still take this drug over an infusion of platelets."

For Immune Thrombocytopenia "I'm a 64-year-old male, and I've had chronic Immune Thrombocytopenia Purpura (ITP) for three years now. The first year, I took Rituximab (Rituxan) infusions that lasted for one year, unfortunately (expected better). However, the side effects of suppressing my immune system were not good: low energy, shortness of breath, risk of infection, and susceptibility to viruses. So, my hematologist and I decided to try 20 mg Doptelet tablets, after tuning the dose over six months to one daily. I have none of the side effects of the Rituximab, and I'm happy that my immune system is not suppressed any longer. The only side effects I experience are reduced stamina and slight shortness of breath after exertion. But that could be due to my sedentary lifestyle, and I plan to get more active to counter those effects, if possible. I also take vitamin supplements daily. The cost of the medicine is very high, and I hit maximum out-of-pocket early each year. I try to budget for that, but it's hard (wish it wasn't so high)."

For Immune Thrombocytopenia "Attempting to get off steroids, I was given Doptelet tablets (4) days ago. Within the first day, the headache started and hasn't gotten better. 'Mind fog' since starting the medication and times of confusion. I believe my eyesight is also affected as it is difficult to focus on items or read printed materials."

For Immune Thrombocytopenia "After my ITP became refractory to Dexamethasone, my Hematologist tried Eltrombopag with minimal results after months. He decided to switch me to Avatrombopag and it worked great. After 3 months of taking it, my platelet counts reached the normal range, and we discontinued the use of the medication. That was 2 years ago."
