Amoxicillin / clarithromycin / lansoprazole for Helicobacter Pylori Infection "Actually, I realized just a week ago that I was having an H. pylori infection, and I started medication yesterday. Meanwhile, I'm doing well, but the side effects are hard. I get a metallic taste, I feel nausea, and when I vomit, I spit just bubbles. It also just makes me feel super tired. But hopefully, I'll get better."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "For close to 2 years, I've had this slight pain in my upper right quadrant that increases when I fast. So I recently decided to visit a doctor, was tested (via blood sample) for H. pylori, and the result came out positive. I started medication two days after my diagnosis, and right now, I'm two days into the triple-med therapy. Some side effects I feel are as follows: 1. A strong bitter taste in my tongue that also makes me feel like I'm regurgitating the awfully bitter taste. 2. I feel like something's stuck in my lower throat—probably the meds—but it gets worse during my bouts of anxieties. 3. Tiredness and sleepiness are more or less the order of the day, except when anxiety kicks in. 4. Sometimes, I feel slight body pains around my back, lower abdomen, and ribs. Overall, the side effects are mild. Only the bitter taste is something I really can't stand at the moment."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "Severe bloating and nausea led me to the doctor, and a breath test confirmed H. pylori. First treatment: amoxicillin, levofloxacin, pantoprazole for 14 days (test after 6 weeks came back positive again). Second treatment: amoxicillin, clarithromycin, omeprazole for 14 days (will test in 6 weeks). Side effects: nausea, diarrhea, bloating, tiredness, metallic bitter taste. These were bad until day 10, and it got better from there. There are no dietary requirements for treatment. Don't feel like you have to eat a certain way to eradicate the bacteria. Also, make sure to retest 6 weeks after treatment. Hang in there, everyone!"

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I started my H. pylori treatment on July 23, and all was well until day 4 of treatment, which was July 27. I started feeling tired, lightheaded, restless at night, and had a very bad taste in my mouth. So the reviews here are very valid, not to scare you from taking the treatment, but it is a bit much. I'm on day 5 and still feel the same way. I am hoping it doesn't last."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "This is my third time being diagnosed with H. pylori (not sure if the last treatment worked). I have been in absolute agony for weeks, literally waking up at 3 a.m. every night feeling like I am being stabbed in the stomach, and a few times I have wanted to call 999. I am on my 2nd day of the treatment, day 1 was horrible (felt sick, tired, and felt so weak). I woke up this morning, and I feel less bloated than I have done and not feeling as ill. Hoping it was just day 1. Stick at the meds, and make sure you get retested after as sometimes the treatment doesn't work!"

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "It's been approximately 1 month since I started feeling upper stomach pain along with skin rashes/hives. At first, my doctor told me that it's some allergic reaction and provided me with some indigestion and antihistamine meds for 1 week. Then again after 1 week, when I didn't feel much improvement in my pain, he asked me to get an upper GI endoscopy done and prescribed 10 days medications. After 10 days, 90% of my pain was gone, but still 10% was there which I felt during the morning. On the 10th day, I went for endoscopy and then the doctor found out that I was H. pylori positive and the infection was severe. Then, he again prescribed me some medicines (antibiotic + antacids + dyspepsia + pain medications). This is my 2nd day of the treatment and I am constantly feeling stomach pain again (PS: my upper stomach pain is back after starting the treatment). I am worried if this is normal or not. Apart from stomach pain, I am feeling so tired and dizzy. My body is stiff, feeling sleepy but unable to sleep."

Amoxicillin / clarithromycin / lansoprazole for Helicobacter Pylori Infection "This is horrible! Don't know if I can continue. Day 3 and have been to the emergency room already. The stomach pain is a lot, nauseous, vomiting, bloated, and just tired. The gastroenterologist warned me. I would get worse before I was better. I just didn't think it would be this bad! I can barely eat, and whatever I can is like a cup of food. Hoping it gets better!"

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I felt bloated the first 2 days. I'm on my 3rd day of treatment so far. I feel a little more tired than usual. The bad taste in the mouth is the worst, it's really nasty. I hope the treatment works."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "Today is barely my first day, and I’m struggling. I have horrible stomach pain and this terrible taste in my mouth that won’t go away. And when I burp, I can taste the antibiotics, which sucks. Also, when I breathe, it feels a bit weird, almost like the antibiotics coated my airways. I feel very tired and very hungry. The effects kick in at about two hours. I thought I had gotten lucky, but sadly no. And I see a lot of people saying to eat yogurt, but with this stupid bacteria taking away my ability to eat a lot of dairy products (including yogurt), I can’t eat it. I will look for probiotics though. I’m not looking forward to the next 13 days, I already want to quit, but I hope it gets cured. Because the pain has been unbearable for these past 4 months."
