Aluminum hydroxide / magnesium hydroxide / simethicone for Indigestion "Been using Mylanta since Maalox factory shutdown. It works as well as Maalox, as it contains the same ingredients and potency. Several family members also use it. Mild taste. It really does work well and would recommend to anyone needing such a product."

I had no side effects, and it was originally suggested by my gastroenterologist. For some reason, they are no longer being manufactured."

Aluminum hydroxide / magnesium hydroxide / simethicone for Indigestion "I had acute severe epigastric pain, and Maalox worked within minutes. I was given this mixed with lidocaine in the ER due to undiagnosed severe stomach pain. While my tongue felt weird, my pain went away in minutes. Please note that this is generally not over the counter or a prescription, my PCP wasn't able to prescribe it."

Aluminum hydroxide / magnesium hydroxide / simethicone for GERD "This is one of the best products ever for abdominal discomfort, reflux, and generalized diffuse abdominal pain. I am not sure why it is not more well-used. I am a nurse, and I tell all of my patients about it. I used to be an avid Tums user until I realized that Mylanta does so much more. It takes care of reflux pain and gas pains quicker and more efficiently than anything else. Plus, it tastes 2000 times better than Rolaids."

Aluminum hydroxide / magnesium hydroxide / simethicone for Indigestion "I am a med aide at a state-run psychiatric hospital, and I work with about 80 regular patients. Several of the patients over age 35 regularly complain of gas pain, GERD, indigestion, or heartburn. Almost all of them ask for Maalox or Mylanta when having these symptoms, and all who ask for it report complete relief at the follow-up about an hour later. Most of them report relief within 15-20 minutes. It's because of my patients' approval of Maalox that I decided to try it for myself. I have been diagnosed with GERD, and I regularly experience indigestion, painful heartburn, and bloating from gas. I have to say, after the first unpleasantly chalky cherry-flavored dose, I experienced total relief in about 20 minutes, and the relief lasted for hours. At present, I'm about halfway done with my first bottle, but I have already decided this will forever be a staple of my medicine cabinet."

"I use Mylanta, which contains calcium carbonate/magnesium hydroxide/simethicone. I actually hadn't used it in years and decided to try it. I have the new vanilla caramel flavor, and I like it. It has a chalky consistency but is sweet upon the first sip. There's a slightly unpleasant aftertaste. This product works fast and relieves my bloating, gas, and middle-of-the-night acid. It neutralizes acid instantly and allows me to go back to sleep. This is my go-to OTC for IBS issues, and I recommend it."
