Alfuzosin for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "I have only learned of this drug only through reviews/forums. I have been prescribed Flomax for the past 5 years and would only take it as needed. Very disappointed in the two urologists that I have had over the years, as I have told each of them about my side effects, which made me not take Flomax. Meantime, I have somewhat successfully fought against severe urinary problems by taking a particular pure (no filler material) Saw Palmetto. Yet, I have increasingly needed to use Flomax. Flomax 0.4 mg is terrible for me since it stops my libido to absolute zero very quickly! Immediate ED ensues, and once ended, it takes days to return to having sex with actual ejaculation. Manhood ends with Flomax! Enter Uroxatral 10 mg - whew! I now take this drug daily and it does NOT affect my sex life. Period. Better yet, I pee like a 16-year-old! Thankfully, I have no blood pressure or liver problems. I just had my physical, and all of my blood data is perfect. I don’t notice any described symptoms at all."

For Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "I took alfuzosin for 3 years. I still woke up 3 to 6 times each night to pee. During the day when I have the urge to pee, it was like an emergency to find a restroom. Even then, it was difficult to urinate, and I had a very weak stream. I lost my ability to maintain an erection and had little urge for sex. My fatigue level was a real problem. Now that I stopped taking alfuzosin, I have much less fatigue, and my erections are improving. I'm waking up less at night to pee, although I still have a weak stream and difficulty starting. Now looking into surgery for a proper solution. Alfuzosin caused me more grief than anything. Had I realized that taking alfuzosin was the cause of these difficulties, I wouldn't have continued taking it! The brochure didn't help."

Alfuzosin for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia "I previously took Finasteride, which effectively slowed the growth of my prostate. However, it also resulted in retrograde ejaculation and erectile dysfunction. In an attempt to find alternative solutions, I tried taking saw palmetto and various other herbs. Then, I gave Alfuzosin a try, taking it every other day. I immediately noticed improvements in my urination stream, as well as better emptying of the bladder. Additionally, my erection, sexual drive, and ejaculation showed improvement. It was a great outcome! Unfortunately, after a few doses of Alfuzosin, I began experiencing heart and gastrointestinal issues, along with difficulty sleeping. These symptoms were quite unpleasant. I decided to stop taking the medication for a few days, and thankfully, the symptoms disappeared. I cautiously decided to give Alfuzosin another try, but unfortunately, after a few days, the symptoms returned and were even worse than before. It became abundantly clear that this medication was not suitable for me. Given the negative experiences and the adverse effects I encountered, I have chosen to discontinue the use of Alfuzosin altogether."
