"When I was 29, I noticed a rash on my groin that grew slowly. Doctors prescribed topical antibiotics. Self-medicated with OTC cortisone for almost 10 years. Then, rashes began spreading to other areas of my body. Managed for a bit with cortisone creams, coal tar, etc. At that point, I was pretty sure it was psoriasis. At 38, I finally went to a dermatologist, and he confirmed. Started me on tacrolimus/pimecrolimus for sensitive areas and topical steroids for all others. That helped keep the scaling from being too bad, but plaques continued to spread. He upped the strength of the topical steroids to no avail. Finally, at 40 years old, the doctor prescribed Humira, and I had 100% clearance within 3 months. Unfortunately, the plaques are beginning to appear again. The doctor said to start with topical steroids again. I may ask to try another biologic with a different target, like IL-17 or IL-23 (Taltz, Cosentyx, or Stelara) before I become completely resistant to TNF blockers."

"So I got diagnosed with psoriasis a few years ago when my mother passed, and I took Humira then for only a couple of months, and it went away. So just recently, last year, it came back in full effect, but I was pregnant, so I couldn't really take anything. So now, here in January, I started back on Humira. I've had about three injections, and it seems to be clearing up. Staying positive. I just want clear skin. #psoriasissucks"

"I had psoriasis since I was two, and my whole body was covered with it until I started using it at age ten. Cleared up right away, my mom said-and I sometimes forget that I have psoriasis. I say a nine because I feel my immune system weakened, and I need to be extra careful not to get sick. My body loves it so much, it gets weird when I skip or forget to pen up myself."

"I have the gene from my mom's and dad's side. There was, or still is, a skip-a-generation rumor for psoriasis that could be true. I praise the Lord my daughter does not have it, and she is going to turn 20 on July 4th. At age 13, it started as dandruff in cold weather. All sports player in the sun, thankfully, it went away every summer. It moved to the knees and elbows over time through the same seasons. Then a spot, then two showed up on my chest. I summer sun tanned. It works. I went to coal tar, then to a diet, suffered like hell, hid, scratched, piled up skin I needed to vacuum every day. I couldn't get all the blood out of the sheets. Methotrexate, psoriatane, and Enbrel did well. Humira did great, only two shots a month. My psoriasis has beat it."

"Humira has changed my life. I started from the beginning when it all kicked off. The only worry I got is now, at the moment, I’m suffering from a tight throat, pains, and numbness up my side. I also felt something burst inside (hip to groin). I’ve tried asking for help with this at my doctor's and the Humira aftercare team, and all I get is 'in two weeks we can see you.' Before I started this, my doctor said to me, 'if there’s any problems, pick up the phone,' and I believed him. But as for aftercare now, since he’s left, everything up to me. I’m worried, it is the first time I’ve rang with a problem I can't handle, and they tell me to hold on for two weeks. I'm having a good and bad experience, so I've decided to price up private to try and see if I can get the help I need that way."

"I have had psoriasis for about 15 years now. I tried all the creams out there, and nothing touched it. I was on methotrexate for 2 years, and I was completely clear for the whole time, but I was the rare case where methotrexate has affected my bone marrow, and I cannot take it any longer. I have been on Humira for a month now, and I am seeing a slight improvement."

"Psoriasis since 16, now 26, and tried everything! Humira was great, it changed my life for the better and with no major issues. If anything, it made me lose weight. It lasted almost 3 years. Obviously, it's like any other treatments."

"Ok! I have a friend who had strong psoriasis all over his head and body. Everybody at work felt bad for him and offered him doctors, medicines, vitamins, and light treatment for months, but no changes. We all were so disappointed. After a little time, we saw his forehead getting better from day to day, and we were shocked by suddenly such good results. And then he told us that he started with Humira shots. After seeing such results, I decided to spread this good news for all the people who are suffering so much from psoriasis. (He didn't have side effects, male in the late 20s)"

"I have been taking this drug for over 2 years. 4 days after each shot, I have seen a difference. I believe in this shot, combined with Kenalog spray for light areas and Taclonex ointment for the flaky areas. I believe anyone would be 80% cured after 6 months."

"Effectively controlling my psoriasis like nothing I've ever tried, and I experience little to no side effects (mild bruising and redness at injection site). The shot is slightly painful, and it takes a lot of working up courage when I stick myself with it."

"I have palmo-plantar pustular psoriasis (PPPP). There isn't enough research on this type of psoriasis. My insurance company forced me to try Humira so I could get to the next approval of meds. I begged not to take this because it has been shown to make PPPP worse. One shot-the loading dose-is all it took for me to break out in hives. I refuse to take any more of it. The hives are as bad as the PPPP."

"Today, October 8th, 2015, has made one week since I have been on Humira. I am so pleased with the results, my skin is already starting to clear up. I'm so excited to see what it will look like in a month. I have suffered from psoriasis for over 10 years, and for the first time, I have hope that I will feel normal again. I have rated it a 9 for only one reason: the medicine burns a little, but overall, not as bad as I thought it would be, being I have to give the shot to myself. I have only noticed a small side effect, every now and then, I get headaches, but nothing I can't tolerate. Today, I have taken my second dose, and I feel fine- not one symptom yet. I can't wait to see the future, where I can finally go out without hiding under long sleeves and pants."

"I started taking Humira in 2008. I had psoriasis on over 90% of my body. I cleared 100% after a few months also while using topicals. Now, it doesn't work at all, and I'm flaring up and getting psoriasis in places I never had it. My doctor even added Otezla, which works like the Humira but is a pill. Still, I'm flaring up. I'm switching to a new medication, I pray it works."

"First time in 8-10 years I have been able to comfortably wear dark colored shirts. I have been extremely happy with this medicine. I have a few patches on my shin and elbow that won't clear, but almost everything else is gone. Also, I used to get a lot of mouth ulcers, and now those are gone too."

"I am 38 yrs old and have had psoriasis since I was 12. Years of creams, lotions, and UV treatments. Many years of 'remission' and minimal areas affected and used occasional tanning to treat. Just dealt with it for many years. Last year in March, I tried Humira. After a week, I started to clear. After 2-3 weeks, I was completely clear. BUT I had also developed night sweats, irregular heartbeat, extreme flashing, alternate constant pain in my abdominal area, no appetite, headaches - just a few of many side effects. I stopped taking it in May and had many of the side effects gradually subside. Menstrual cycle has become intermittently prefaced by extreme pain for up to a week. Psoriasis flared so bad that almost a year later and it's just starting to lessen."

"I have been on Humira for 4 years now, and I can't say enough about its ability to clear my skin and help my joint pain. I have had psoriasis since I was 5 years old, and I am 23 now. I tried creams, steroids, and light treatments for about a year in high school. Starting Humira, it was 4 months to clear skin (90%), which was amazing since I hadn't had clear skin like this since before I could remember. Negative side effects include unexplained headaches, nausea, and when I get sick, it is always very bad, meaning the flu becomes a whole week+ of severe symptoms. Something else I deal with is painful injections and pain at the injection site. (Tips) Try massaging your thigh first and numb it with ice, also, let your meds warm a little for 10 minutes. Overall, despite the cons, I really love being able to wear anything I want, and Humira is worth it for me!"

"Not really sure how to rate this. I have plaque psoriasis. My doctor prescribed me Humira. After my first two starter doses, I started to notice some hair loss. Then I took my first single dose. I noticed even more hair loss. When I washed my hair, it was coming out in clumps. The drain was full of hair. So, I stopped Humira and had to switch to another medication. Not sure if this medication would have worked or not. Wasn't able to use it long enough."

"I have had psoriasis since I was 18, I am now 44. I’ve tried everything, and this was my final try, and let me tell you what a miracle drug it is. My psoriasis is in stable remission, and I can walk again as I had it all over my feet, the top of my feet, and legs. I look and feel so much better. I stopped taking the shot well over a month or more ago, and I’m still holding strong. Thank you, AbbVie, for changing my life. I have my self-confidence back, and I feel great."

"I was on Humira for maybe 6 months. It was amazing how my psoriasis was disappearing before my eyes. A couple of months in, I began to become unstable when standing. I used handrails and the kids as a crutch. Eventually, that wasn't enough, I needed my husband, and soon after, a cane. I had to teach myself how to walk again with physical therapy. It took 30 minutes just to walk three houses down and back. I went back to the doctor, who said in rare cases it can cause MS-like symptoms, and I was very saddened to be removed from this medicine. Within weeks, I was back to normal. But here's the kicker: I had plaque psoriasis on about 30 percent of my body when I started Humira. Two years later, I am covered in about 90 percent, and I have had this since age 11! SAD!!"

"I was on Humira for 5 years. The last year on it, I was having hip and back pain so bad, along with a constant bad headache. Repeated visits to Drs to have them think I'm crazy and odd. I spent so much on medical bills: chiropractor, holistic chiropractor, regular Dr, sports Drs. I kept asking if it was the Humira injections causing this. I was told no way, that's not possible. Well, I decided to take the shot in the other hip, and lo and behold, I had pain full force. I stopped completely. Went to my dermatologist and explained what had been going on. She looked at me and said I have 3 other patients going through the exact same thing! Three months later, and I'm on Otezla; my back hurts again, daily headaches, and I feel so tired every day! I'm ready to give up!"

"Had all the other treatments, Neoral, light, creams, etc. Neoral worked, but I had been taking it too long, so I had to come off it. Legs completely covered, arms too, painful, itchy, embarrassing. Dr. suggested biologics (Humira), started 2 years ago, cleared it straight away. One thing I'm not sure of is the side effects. I've had some strange things happen to me that have gone away when I missed a dose of Humira - anyone else had this?"

"Have been on it for almost three months. Guttate psoriasis is getting worse than to start with. Breaking out all over my lower legs, worse than ever there. The rest of my areas affected (arms and thighs) are about the same. Dermatologist is switching me to Cosentyx, hope that works for me."
