Panic disorder is an anxiety disorder that causes your child to have sudden panic attacks. A panic attack feels more serious than it is. Remind your child to breathe deeply to try to calm himself or herself during an attack. Healthcare providers can help your child learn to prevent panic attacks or keep them from getting worse.
