I had immediate effects in terms of sleepiness/ dizziness / numb brain within half hour . Is this normal

It depends on each individual's response to the drug. Some people may experience side effects within just 20-30 minutes after ingestion of the medication. For others they may appear within several days.
The good news is that they generally resolve within just days to a week or so.

Thank you for the response . Is this gained from personal experience? I was told by a CPN that this is not possible.

Everybody's going to react differently and I was one of the many who experienced exactly this. I can't count the number of times this question has come up here on this forum re: Abilify and other psychotropic drugs for that matter.
