Hi, Les!
For many people there are no discontinuation symptoms at all... I had to stop Lexapro abruptly twice for an unrelated medical condition and I had no problems.
But, as was said, to be on the safe side let your doctor know you want to stop the medication and why and ask for their professional advice for a tapering schedule.
Best regards, Wildcat
PS, I wouldn't follow the advice of non-professionals on Internet websites.
Hi Les7961 , I would talk to doctor or pharmacist . I was on 5 mg for 1 year and doc had me cut every 2 weeks and then every other day for 6 weeks , no problems . It also depends how much you were taking and how long . Good Luck be safe .
