The difference is the time-release and the fact that they are made and manufactured by two different companies
The most direct response, outside the (relatively untrue, as there are made by different companies) line that "(Because they are both 2mg strength,) They are the exact same!", but there actually is a unique difference that may or may not matter to people, and only you know if it applies here: The difference in question would be the pill binder that keeps the powder chemical solid and hard in pill form. That's why you'll see different strengths of the same medication as the exact same size, such as the 5mg oxycodone IR / roxicodone pill, which is the same size as a 30 mg oxycodone IR / roxicodone, (which are medications that are supposedly ONLY pain medication, with no acetaminophen) as they pump the lower mg pill thats has less of the active medication, with an insane amount of binder.
Binders are added to pills so that they do not break apart themselves and/or the patient has difficultly breaking them in halves or quarters, as breaking one's pills in halves or quarters is technically going against prescribed medication guidelines and is illegal.
All that said, all people are different, so some people react differently to to different manufacturers and different binders. I had a prescription that gave me constipation, but when we switched to a different manufacturer, the problem went away. My father also had a similar problem with Excedrin headache medicine about 16 months ago; Excedrin changed their binders in their recipe and he started having worse headaches, and people around the USA started paying up to $150 on Amazon and eBay for single bottles of the old formula with the original binder.
When I used to take Xanax bar ( last time was little over an year ago and was taking for 7+ years ) they were both are 2mg bars. But the white double G one's where instant release... An the yellow ones are 24hour release.
So say you take the white one.You end getting the full amount effect that you're supposed to... But when you take the yellow mello ones, you get a time release effect kicking out an dose every so often for a 24 hour period. Don't get me wrong, when the time release dose does kicks out it's dosages they hit you hard. But it not as a hard as the white ones because those are the instant release and they do just that... All 2mg at once.
I felt the white bars where not as active as the green 2 mg bars . Why ?
The dosage
I am a physician. All generics and the brand name drugs they mimic have the same active ingredient. So most prescribing doctors and pharmacists will say there should be no difference in personal experience between the different generics and/or the brand name drug. However, each manufacturer uses different inactive ingredient, which include certain salts and other compounds that CAN effect how the drug is processed and delivered within the body. Furthermore, each drug manufacturer of a generic is NOT required to study the effect of their specific formulation by the FDA. They must only prove that a certain amount of the active drug is found in the bloodstream after ingestion - and this can range from (approximately) 80%-120% of the name brand drug. In other words, yes there is a difference in the amount of drug released to the bloodstream (within an "acceptable" limit), but there is no proof that the different formulations have the same active subjective effect.
It is assumed by the FDA that they will due to the active ingredient shown in the blood (even though these levels fluctuate).
I have MANY patients who claim, with most kinds of drugs prescribed, that some generics or brands work better for them than others. I myself have the same experience. So yes, it is possible that one "color" Xanax will have a different perceived "strength" in addition to other perceived side effects. Identifying each pill by color is dangerous - also saying that Safeway always has one vs the other type of pill isn't always true. Pharmacies are constantly negotiating different contracts with manufactures and insurance companies, so they can change which generics they supply based on who gives them a better deal. For best discussions about differences between generic types, it is best to use manufacturer the way some posts have.
Personally, I have a number of clients who respond differently to different types of generics. Some actually report feeling ill when taking one kind vs another. The best thing to do is notice which ones affect you which way, and try to get that manufacturer.
I hope this helps. If collectively one group of people on this thread reports a given generic is most effective, then that may likely be the case. I don't know what Xanax is a "skateboard" color, but I read a number of people saying that works well.
Are there yellow and white Xanax the same
HEY, PEOPLE AS OF LATE 2017 anyone that does not get the Xanax from a pharmacy are crazy there are fake Xanax on the streets that you can't tell any difference from the real thing and not all of them even have any Xanax in them. but all the colors are right and also the markings leave them along.
I’m trying so hard to understand why it’s assumed that people asking this question are buying pill “off the street”. ANY pill purchased from any source other than a licensed pharmacy, are all dangerous and potentially deadly. I’ve never bought any pills “off the streets”, have been on Xanax for 30 years. 30. I have been on 2mg/day for 8 years. I have wondered what the difference in manufacturers is. There is definitely a difference in manufacturers with generic Adderall and some blood pressure medications, of which I’m also PRESCRIBED. The differences lie more between individual’s differences in chemical make up, so no one can say which genetic works better for anyone, other than the individual taking it.
In my opinion, the difference in color only indicates different manufacturers. I'm pretty sure 2mg bars are the strongest they make.
It's just like Tylenol comes in red n white and Advil come in a blue if pm or a brownish if NoN pm, they are different colors but do the same thing! Same as the white, yellow, or green 2mg. Same meds, just different companies. I'm 39 and been taking them since I'm 14, not saying I know more than anyone else on here, but I do know a little something about em, that's in your head!
To follow up one the one gentleman’s answer that they’re just a different manufacture. Yes that is correct. However... in my circle, I have heard the common “myth” that the yellows are stronger and better, but that’s just a bunch of tomfoolery. They’re are completely not! All in their head! Pharmaceutical com. also manufacture green ones as well! Also false abt them being stronger/longer effect.
Yellow bars, white and green are all instant release if they were extended release they would have a coating on them that you could peal off or they would be in a capsule... the difference between them is the manufacturer color and inactive (ingredients) witch may have an effect on how it hits you witch is very common most people do prefer the yellow
I am pretty sure the yellow bars have flexiril in them, which is a muscle relaxer. I could be wrong but this is what I was told by a dr. when I was younger and used to abuse them.
I don't know
Most of the yellow pills are fine.just check the internet to make sure except the time release they are all the same
How do I find that out?
Just Google the number on the back of the pill it will take you to the site and you can find out
