Does turmeric affect your sex drive? My wife has been using it for about 12 months and sexual?

I’ve been taking turmeric for 1 week and after recovering from a hysterectomy with one ovary left , turmeric has given my libido the “get up & go “ that I needed to get back into the saddle (so to speak)It has eased pain in which was the reason for Turmeric in the first place.I had no idea turmeric has this effect as it caught me by surprise after reasearching I have found some remarkable evidence of the powers of Turmeric... it’s quite AMAZING

I have been using turmeric in conjuction with black pepper and coconut oil in my warm drinks 3 times per day for the past 2 weeks and my sex drive has most certainly increased. turmeric has a compound in it that in excess stresses the kidneys so it has to be taken in small deliberate doses.

Turmeric is thought to have estrogenic activity, so I assume it could decrease testosterone and lower a woman's sex drive but I don't know of any research on this. Also, it is thought to increase serotonin, and any substance that increases serotonin can lower sex drive in some people.

Anything to excess has draw backs. It is being touted as the new super supplement. I can't find any drawbacks listed. It does recommend a specific amt of capsules a day and then she doesn't need to add to that.
