Withdrawal from Xanax after 6 months?

I have taken Xanax for the past 6 months for sleep. I would like to stop, at least for a while. Can I reduce dose to .25mg for a few days and then stop?

Tylenol Extra Strength - I have leg pain, not cramps, in right leg during the night.
