I have asthma. I take albuterol and prednisone occasionally when I go to the dr. Can I take deltasone 5 mg.

Prednisone prescription - more pills than needed?

I was prescribed prednisone tabs to be taken 6x3 and 4x3 and 2x3 and 1x3 days or a total of 39 tablets. However there were 50 tablets prescribed. The pharmacy confirmed the total prescribed and the directions. Why are there 11 extra pills?
