Has anyone ever lost weight while taking mirtazapine?

I recently started taking mirtazapine but people say it causes weight gain. I wanted to ask if anyone has experienced weightloss?

How to cut mirtazapine pills down to smaller dose?

I saw several posts indicating some were cutting 15 mg mirtazapine pills down to 1/8ths. How is this being done? I have tried this but seem to get irregular portions. Aprreciate any tips you may have learned .
