Is it safe to take amitriptyline while on levothyroxine?

I took amitriptyline with synthroid and I was told it could harm very much, I started getting very blurred vision and tingling in my hands and feet and also restless leg syndrome so if you do please get a second opinion from your Dr. and Pharmacist.
