I am taking clopidogrel,generic for plavix & omeprazole cannot be taken with it because it interferes with the effectiveness of the clopidogrel. So I was told to ask what I can substitute for the omeprazole that would not be a problem with the clopidogrel.

The pharmacist or your dr ( his nurse actually)is the best person to get that info. There are time limits on how long to take those stomach medications. They are not supposed to be taken for months or years My guess it that you recently started plavix and were on the omeprazole before and want to keep taking it? Make sure you find out the time limit for any stomach med you change to. I can’t remember what you can take with plavix but it should be on the pharmacy printout you got. Good luck.

According to the interaction checker Famotidine otherwise known as Pepcid AC is safe when combined with Clopidogrel (plavix).
However, before you try taking famotidine/pepcid AC its best to get a professional opinion from either a pharmacist or your doctor.
