I have been on suboxone before and it worked wonders for me and i never had any issues with precipitated withdraws. I decided to get back on track and get clean so i waited 24 hours after my last use and did the cows test with a 26. I made sure I was good and sick because I have heard the horror stories of pwd's With in 15 minutes of taking the 1 mg of suboxone I was starting to feel pretty horrible. Within the next 15 minutes I was absolutely sicker then I could even imagine was possible. Man the horror stories are true. I had to leave work and try to get myself together, I ended up having to do a little opiate I knew it wouldn't get me buzzed but it definitely made life better. I would rather go 3 days cold turkey then 2 hours of precip withdraw. My question is tomorrow will I have an issue inducing suboxone or should I be ok because the suboxone that got on my receptors today? I am scared to even take it now fearing that would happen even after waiting a long period of time and making sure I had a high cows score. How long should I wait before trying again? Any helps or comments would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Harry

Sorry let me explain a little further. I called my doctor and he told me to take more which I read was not a good idea. I contacted 2 other suboxone doctors in my area and they both were extremely helpful and advised me not to take any more while in precipitated wd's, the last Dr. just actually called me back and said he would properly do the induction in the office. As far as me saying my Dr didn't have the slightest clue its because when I was asking him questions he would only read out of the pamphlet and said his only training was a 2 week online class. I was on PM for years after suffering a right leg below the knee amputation(Trans-tibial) and a left leg above the knee amputation(Trans-femoral) in Iraq, which multiple other breaks. I have never done a drug in my day illegally but am not stuck in this spot of opiate hell which is extremely frustrating. I know nobody on here is a Dr. I was just looking for somebody who may have gone through the same situations.

I saw your post but can not sign into the site from my phone. For some reason, heroin users DO need to wait about 48 hours after last use. Subutex is the better med to induct an H or methadone user, because there is LESS chance of precip, and try to hold out for the full 48, if you absolutely can't, try 1 mg again in 36 hours. If you are better in about an hour, you are pretty safe to take 1 or 2 mgs more later. If you feel ANY worse after 1 hour, wait 12 more hours and try again. It is all about space on the receptors. Methadone can be imagined as a huge molecule covering all the seats on the receptors, and H is supposed to be a short acting small molecule, BUT, for some reason lately, we have seen many H users who go into precip, so we warn them to wait 36 to 48 hours, for the H to leave the receptors. Sorry you got some bad advice from your dr, and I am ever so glad you came here for help.
If you will add some friends and join some groups and answer some questions, it will give you points, those points will allow you to reach Robert_325, on the forum. So I am going to add you, add as many friends as you can, and answer a couole of questions or join some groups, so you can get to Robert. I am pretty sure I am giving you the same advice he would. Welcome to our site. Feel better. Patti
Hi harry,i'm subzero58 and i'll try my best to get you through this,ok? when was the last time you took an opiate other then sub? look add me as a friend and i'll get more info from you,i'll do the same.add you as friend. but if you took 1mg of sub and started to go into persip withdrawls you need to wait 2 more hours and take more sub your doctor is correct. you were supposed to wait for 24 hours after you went into withdrawls, not 24 hours from the last time you took something else.and tell me what you took,so i can figure out how long that drug will last. add as friend subzero58 we'll get you fixed in a few hours... pete
Hi Harry,
I just got off the phone with a friend of mine that has done very very well with suboxone.
She told me to tell you this; preciptitated W/D two days in a row is possible, yet not likely.
Also, and the most important... heroin and/or methadone users need to usually wait around 48 hours before induction. Or you will be tossed into precip.
Hope you are doing fine now, I didn't even get to read your Q, because my friend said it's imperative for you to know about waiting longer than 24 hours.
Good luck Harry, and may the force be with you!

Hey thanks! When I just sat down and figured everything out I had actually waited almost 29 hours, and was darn good and sick. I was expecting relief and got shot to the whole other side of the spectrum. I will wait as long as possible and be extremely worried when I try again. It's a real downer when your trying to clean things up and follow the instructions as best you can and you get results that scare you into just wanting to not clean up. I wish my doctor knew how to help, his advice would of made me sicker.
I tried to make a post in the Need to Talk forum there is a user in there
Robert_325 who seems to really know the ins and outs of subs but it appears I don't have privileges to start a topic.. so close... yet so far away lol.. I've had enough and I know I only have myself to blame for the relapse I just wish I wasn't so worried about the precip wd's happening again.
I've never taken Subs, but I am friendly with these guys n gals and I promise they mean you no harm. Maybe the doctor meant say if he gave you a .25 Sub it wasn't enough and you could take another quarter to get you where you needed to be.. jus saying. I hope you have found the right dosage and are doing well right now!
Wow Harry, now we know not to mess with this stuff, it is ugly when we mess with the timing. I would say it could go either way for you. If you stand pat, you could possibly get better or stay sick, if you start up again same thing, sounds as though you're right on the fence. I usually have folks get the Doc involved, it's worth the red tape and BS because this way, this can go on and on and on. Hope this helps a little.
When I called into my sub doctor all he told me to do was to keep taking more suboxone untill it went away. From everything I have read the worst thing to do is to take more subs. I am honestly so scared about going through that again that I just may go cold turkey. That was by far the worst feeling.
I am new to this site but I see a lot of knowledgeable people posting. Anybody that has any insight on this or can point me to somebody that does I would greatly appreciate it. I feel like my doctor does not have the slightest clue and now I am hesitant to even take subs from this happening.
Buy you're willing to take the advice of total strangers? If anything find another Dr, this stuff is nothing to mess with, all we can do here is advise you against further upset. If you were to take more or not based on a community opinion then get even sicker, then what? You tell your Dr you followed online advice over his? Wow, that's jeopardizing your relationship with the only ones who can write scripts. Sorry my answer went the wrong way with you, I meant no harm.
So yes I did take the advice of total strangers so I had a well formed question to ask the Dr's I was calling. Sorry for even posting on here I was just seeing if anybody had a similar situation, not to get condescending answers.
I explained more in my question and put more info about how i got to this point. Sorry for any confusion i caused you.
Understood, thanks for explaining. I would go with that Doc that called you back. He's suggesting the same thing I experienced when this happened to me a year ago. Get into his office as soon as you can, and you're correct, it is indeed a hell of its own, one I hasten to admit I am in myself. Best to you.
