Hi, yesterday was THE lowest day I've had in years! Almost off the Effexor & on only 5mg of viibryd. I saw my doc. We agreed to stop the Effexor ( still on low dose lexapro) & increase my viibryd to 10mg. Last night I decided to take 5mg along with sleepy meds, slept fine. Woke up & took another 5mg & no Effexor. I feel a bit better. Mood has improved, no anxiety, but low energy. Gonna force myself to go for a walk. Still having mild headaches! Annoying !
Anyone else split up their doseage???

Checking in to see how you're feeling. No problems stopping suddenly after the month on Viibryd?
Did you go back on a known med or are you taking something new?

Hi there, yeah having withdrawals, but not bad. Mood is low :(. It's going on three days without it & last night my dreams were SOOO scary! I almost didn't want to go back to sleep! Slight dizziness but not bad. I'm still on only 2mg of lexapro. I hav an appt w my md Fri. She wants to put me on lamictal , a mood stabilizer . I was on that in the past & not sure why I took myself off if it. I was also on Effexor & lexapro at the time. So we'll see. Lamictal has no ss side effects. This is why I'm trying all this stuff!! Ugh. Sucks I have to be on meds in the first place!!! Hope your doing well frenchie & thanks for asking about me :). I really appreciate it!

All I know is the sister of my sis n law takes viibryd, not sure of mg, and she said it is working wonders for her. Don't know if she uses any other meds. I cked my insurance about viibryd because I thought about trying it, but the co pay was too high. I'm still going to think positive about my Zoloft.

Yea. I wish it worked for me. I wanted it to! I gave it one month. Coming off it cold turkey. First day off it & no pressure headache. That tells me viibryd is causing them. Such a bummer :(

Dear Yogini... waiting to hear what your Doc said about your Viibryd dosage. I'm feeling so much better and I hope you've also gotten some answers and the headaches have resolved. Please update when you can.

Hi frenchie, thanks for checking in with me. Unfortunately, viibryd is not working out :(. Constant headaches & feeling irritable. Did nothing for my libido. Oh well, I gave it a month. If I went up any further in dose my headaches would of been worse. Feels like a vice on my head!! I'm so disappointed! I wanted it to work for me!! So, I am not going back on Effexor but will cont. on a small dose of lexapro & possibly add a mood stabilizer like lamictal. We'll see. Going to talk to my doc tomm. Glad you feel good!!

Hi Yogini,
I replied yesterday but it didn't come through. Because of AM headaches with my Viibryd 40 dose, my Dr determined I metabolize medications faster than normal. I now take my 40 in the AM with food and 20 around dinner time. I don't take it later because of the really awful experiences I've had with sleep paralysis. I take the smallest dose of Clonazepam PM for sleep, AM for anxiety.
Since I added the Viibryd 20 in the pm (and btw I haven't heard of anyone else above 40, this puts me at 60 in 24 hrs,) I feel great. The groggy, headachy morning was gone after the first additional dose! So... this may have to do with how your system is metabolizing a drug that has a short half life to begin with.
Perhaps your doc will have similar options for you. I am so pleased with Viibryd, finally!

Hi Frenchie! What is sleep paralysis?
I take mine at 8pm & 8 or earlier depending on work schedule in the am.
Like I said to Joe the half life is only 20-24hrs. Not long at all! My Doc said I could try it at night. So I decided to split the dose because I read you did & are having success with it. Waiting to here from my doc to ok this.

Hi Yogini, if you are splitting the Viibryd dose , i dont think i would. Im on 20 Mg and dont think i am going up to 40 . I take xanax as needed. I take my Viibryd around lunch time and it seems to be working. Side effects will go away in a week or 2.

Joe, why do you think it shouldn't get split up? The half-life is only 20-24hrs. I figured this way it would stay more constant in the body. I did call my md & left a message to make sure it is ok. It hasn't interrupted my sleep at all, but I'm still having mild headache with stiff neck. I think I'm still withdrawing from the Effexor. Been so hard!!!

Just a guess i think. Never thought of splitting this thru the day, kindof like not splitting an antibiotic or something. Im still trying to figure out if i should take it in the AM noon or PM.

Well, my MD stated it was ok to split up just FYI, but last night I had right sided restless leg. I have read that may be a side effect. So, I've decided to stick with just am.
