I haven't been able to get my prescription for oxycodone 15mg for 2 months. I have been informed there is a shortage in the state of New Jersey. Is this accurate?

The shortage is nationwide- I am a snowbird and have had difficulty in IL and FL.
In Florida there is a "so called" opioid shortage for the last two years. It keeps getting more difficult to get prescriptions for hydrocodone and next to impossible to get a oxycodone script filled at a pharmacy. The issue is pharmacists are reluctant to fill opioid prescriptions for fear of hefty fines and legal issues. My MD writes the script, but the pharmacy is always "out of stock." I don't believe it. Write your congressman. We were told a few years back, that chronic pain sufferers would always be able to obtain needed opioid medications when prescribed by a pain management specialist. That is not happening.
