My doctor is changing me from escitalopram 20mg to venlafaxine. She indicated I could stop the escitalopram right away and start the venlafaxine. Has anyone had experience with this ? Ive been on escitalopram for 3 years . Thank you!

You might ask your doctor about tapering more slowly off the escitalopram to eliminate the chance of discontinuation symptoms and slowly increasing your dose of venlafaxine to avoid initial side effects.
