It is generally safe to take the two medications together. Usually there is not a reason to take two antibiotics at the same time. Make sure that your doctor knows that you are on both antibiotics at the same time and that there is a reason for you to be on two antibiotics at once. The more antibiotics that you take during your lifetime, the harder it is to find an effective antibiotic when you really need one.
