I was on 7.5 mg methotrexate & 12.5 mg of prednisolone a few months ago.
But due to my two recent infections & hospital admissions (shingles & pneumonia), my doctors have withdrawn the methotrexate and replaced it with Huimira 40mg /2 weeks.
I understand that both medications work by suppressing my immunity.
So what's the purpose of changing when I've taken extra medication and regularly see a liver doctor to make sure my latent hepatitis virus does not resurface because of the additional suppression of my immunity?
Thanks for reading my question & I hope to be enlightened.
Why replace methotrexate with Humira?

I have been on this site for 10 years and have learned a few things, and have answered almost 9.000 questions. The reason for letting you know is that I read you inquiry and thought to myself I can answer this one and help you.
I have been cracking my head, researching, reading and informing myself.
Bottom line as you probably are aware, Methotrexate as well as Humira have tremendous potential risks, warnings and side effects and I am sorry to put it this way but I can't answer your question and feel sorry for it.
I hope there is someone on this site that can enlighten you, once again I am sorry for not being that person.
