I have had MDD, & GAD for approx. 20 yrs but only VERY severe for the last 4-5. I've been on 2mgs. of Klonopin twice daily for most of those 20 yrs. After reading the chance of HORIFFIC results from long term use, I cant believe I'm am still given it, AND it really has no more efficacy. Ideas please for weaning? THX!
IS there a REAL answer out there?

Excellent advice! Nice having you aboard...
I'll have to research this for myself as I take clonazepam 3mg daily.
To answer your question though, you must taper your dosage. Typically, .5mg at a time, wait a week or two, then another 0.5mg. The whole process should take 1-2 months for you. Please do it under the supervision of your doctor. However, what I just wrote was what my doctor told me to do when I recently tried to wean myself off of it (for a different reason than you).
