My Tonsillitis started out with little white spots on my tonsils. After I went to the Emergency Room, they gave me a penicillin injection. Its been three days now, and the white spots have gotten bigger and has spread a little. It hurts more than ever, I cant eat or drink without it hurting. Let alone swallow my own spit. So basically , moral of the story does it get worse before it starts to get better because I'm about ready to just say forget it and get them taken out.
How long does a Penicillin injection take to work?

I got a penicillin shot yesterday about this time and it doesn’t seem like it’s working how long does it take to work.
Did it work by now? And I got one too and my doc said to wait for a few weeks. How much time did u had to wait??
It might get a little worse before the penicillin can get rid of the bacteria and thus get rid of the symptoms. You can't get them out until the infection is gone. I would say if its not starting to get better by tomorrow go back to the er. While the bacteria that generally causes tonsillitis usually responds to penicillin it is possible that this infection won't.
How long does it take to heal?? Is it a few weeks?? Like 5?
