I realize everyone takes Different doses of this medication for different reasons but one thing I don’t understand. What I don’t understand is for these seizures one can take 600 mgs and one can take 25 mgs and then there is my doctor that says you need 100 two times a day. I’m so confused. I was on 150 mgs for Mood disorder which did nothing for my moods. I have a history of seizures that I’ve not had since 1994 and have not taken any meds long before that. So I felt a bit of freedom from fear of having a seizure one he 150 mgs anyways. I just wonder what different doses work for different people since hardly anyone puts what dose they take on the reviews. I really wish people would put doses and time on medication on their reviews.

I’m on Lamictal for my bipolar disorder and I take a total of 250 mg but I have to fill two different doses which is 100mg and 150mg every day. I think the reason why is because the company that makes it doesn’t have just 250mg pill. Very frustrating it you have to pay copays. It doesn’t work for everyone and it does take time to work depending on what reason you’re taking it for. I hope this helps.
Hey, Jackbarks!
You hit the nail on the head... every individual requires a different dosage for different disorders. There is a recommended dose but the therapeutic dose can vary greatly from one person to the next.
For instance, although the target dosage for Bipolar disorder is 200mg/day for most people I require 400mg/day for the drug to be effective. In fact, I require the maximum dose for all the psych medications I take whereas most other people may find a much lower dose is sufficient to control their symptoms.
PS, That's 200mg twice daily morning and evening.
