My doctor put me on trazodone at bedtime and Klonopin 2 times a day as needed for anxiety. I took a Klonopin this morning at 5.30am and it’s now 9.30pm… Am I okay to take my trazodone to go to sleep or wait and let the Klonopin out of my system. Idk I’m new and paranoid about it.
Klonopin during the day and trazodone at bedtime?

Ok first I would need to know if you took your second Klonopin of the day and at what time (if you did), since you stated you were prescribed 2 per day. If you didn't take the second one you would have absolutely nothing to worry about. Even if you did take your second one as long as it's been a few hours you're fine. Technically speaking it wouldn't necessarily be harmful even if both were taken at the same time since the worse that will happen is you would become extremely groggy and sleepy, and you're going to bed anyways.
I'm not advocating you take them together, just trying to put you at ease. It's perfectly ok to take the trazodone after the Klonopin. If you're a newbie to these meds I would simply wait a few hours after taking Klonopin to take the trazodone. Hope this helps!
Experience: I have been prescribed both for many years.
Hi, shelbylynn!
Decreasing amounts of Klonopin can stay in your system for several days so you should go ahead and take the trazodone exactly as your doctor directed. Worst case it will make you drowsy when you go to bed... which is exactly what you want.
